1.1 PLAYABLE DISK TYPES
The following typesof disks can play in theBlu-Ray Disc player:
1. OVERVIEW
This BD playerhas the capability of providing high-definition,cinema-like pictures and
multi-channel audio. Soundtracks in more thanone language are usually included on
the disk, andsubtitles in more languages are oftenincluded as well.

Only DVD-RW/-R recorded with UDF or ISO9660 format can be played back.
The disks must be finalized, VR-mode.
Playback may not work for some types of disks, or when specific operations, such as
angle change and aspect ratio adjustment, are being performed. Information about
the disks is written in detail on the box. Please refer to this if necessary.
Some DVD-VR disks will be playable but not all features are available.
For writeab
Only CD-R/-RW media recorded with UDF or ISO9660 format can be played, and they
must be finalized.

1.2 REGION CODE
If the Regionnumber of a BD or DVDdisk does not correspond to theregion number of
this Blu-ray diskplayer, the BD player cannotplay the disk. The region code is printed
on the rearpanel of the BD Player.

Connect the BDplayer s Land R jack to the audioinput jack on the TV.
Connect the BDplayer s videoout jack to the video inputjack of TV.

Use the HDMIcable (not supplied)to connect BD player to yourTV.

3.1 Video Output Capabilities

3.3.2. Stereo Audio Outputs
These are analog,“old fashioned”stereo (left/right) outputs.If your TV does nothave
an HDMI input,you can connect these outputs tothe stereo audio inputs of aTV.
3.3.3. Composite Video
If your TV does not have component orHDMI video inputs, connect this outputto the
composite video inputof the television.
3.3.4. HDMI 1.3Audio/Video Output
If you areusing a surround-sound audio receiver withan HDMI input, connect
the HDMI outputof the BD player to theHDMI input of the audio receiver. (You will need
to connect asecond HDMI cable from the HDMIoutput of the audio receiver tothe HDMI
input of thetelevision)
If your surround-soundaudio receiver does not have anHDMI input (or if you arenot
using a surround-sound receiver), connect this output directlyto the HDMI input of the
TV. One of theother audio outputs can be connectedto the audio receiver.
3.3.5. Ethernet Connector
For BD-Live only, use anEthernet cable to connect this connectorto access Ethernet
while playing BD-Livedisk.
3.3.6. USB 2.0Connector
Used for externalUSB memory access, play supported audio/videofiles on USB
memory or storedownload content into USB memory forBD-Live
Warning: The USB memory stick should be plug inthe unit directly. USB extension
cable should notbe used to avoid failing ofdata transferring and interference caused.
3.3 Connectors Description
3.3.1 SPDIF Digital Audio Output
The SPDIF outputis a digital audio output. Ifyou have a surround-sound receiver with
a SPDIF (coaxial)input,connect this output to the coaxialinput of the surround sound
receiver.

4. Remote Control 1.Open/Close
Press this buttonto open/close the disk tray.
2.Subtitle
This key canbe used to enable/disable subtitles during
BD/DVD playback. If the disk hasmore than one
subtitle language, itcan also be used to cyclethrough
the subtitle languages.
3.Audio
This key isused to cycle through the movieaudio
soundtracks available onthe disk. (Notavailable on all
disks).
4.Pop Menu/Title
On BD disksonly, this button canbe used tobring up
the main moviemenu. (Not available on all disks).
5.Angle
Some BD andDVDs are filmed with more thanone
camera angle. During playback of sucha disk,
pressing this buttonwill allow you to switch camera
angles. (Not available on all disks)
6.VOL (+/-)
Pressing the VOL+ button will increase the volumeof
the BD player'saudio output. Pressing the VOL -
button will decreasethe volume of the BD player's
audio output.
7.STOP
This button stopsplayback of a BD/DVD movie orfiles
on disk.
8.DISPLAY
Press this buttonto show current play status andtime
information.
9.Menu Navigation Keys
These keys areused when navigating the menus onBD and DVDs. They are also used
for navigating thesetup menus for the BD player.
10.GOTO
This button isused with the numeric keypad tojump to a specific track onan audio CD.
11.PREV
Press this buttonto play previous title, chapter,track or file if valid.
12.NEXT
Press this buttonto play next title, chapter,track or file if valid.
13.Return
When navigating fileson a data CD or USBstick, pressing this button will returnyou
to the previousfolder or menu.
14.Random
Used for randomplayback of audio files on disk.(Not available on all disks).
15.Colour Keys
The red, green,yellow, and blue keys areused to implement disk-specific features on
some BD disks.(Not available on all disks).
16. Resolution
Under STOP status, press thisbutton can changeresolution settings directly.
17.Secondary Subtitle
Used to bringup the subtitle (if available) forthe picture- in-picture (director's
commentary, etc) on aBD title. If the disk hasmore than one director's commentary
subtitle language, itcan also be used to cyclethrough the subtitle languages.
(Not available on all disks).

18. STANDBY
Press the STANDBY button to turn theBD player on or off.
Note: AfterAC power being turned on,system will take about 16s torun linux and
initialize hardware, pleasebe patient, system will not respondany key input
during this period.
19. Numeric Keypad
These buttons areused with the GOTO button to jump tospecific title/chapter (track)
or time.
20. MUTE
Pressing this buttonto avoid audio output, pressing theMUTE button again will
resume audio output.
21. CLEAR
When entering numericvalues via the numeric keypad ,this button is used to cleara
number entered incorrectly.
22.SLOW
Pressing this buttonwill cause the video to beplayed at ½, 1/4, 1/8 speed.
23. Step
Pressing this buttonwill play movie by one frame.
24.Play
Pressing this buttonwill start or resume playback.
25. Pause
Pressing this buttonwill pause audio and video playback.
26.Menu
Pressing this keywill immediately stop playback, and bringup the main or 'top' menu
of the BDor DVD disk. (Not available onall disks)In the main menu, youcan typically
choose subtitle language,audio track, or different scene etc.
27.Setup
Bring out thesettings menu of the BD player. This key will not work during diskplay-
back
28.Fast Forward
Used to “FastForward” during content playback.
29.Fast Reverse
Used to “FastReverse” during content playback .
30.A-B
When a diskis playing, pressing this button oncewill save a “start point” forrepeating
playback. Pressing thisbutton again to select a “endpoint” then playback will repeat
from the startpoint to the end point. (Notavailable on all disks)
31.REPEAT
This button isused to cycle through the possible“repeat”modes based on content
played.

32.Bonus View
On BD disks,this button is used to turnthe video portion of the director'scommentary
(picture-in-a-picture) on andoff. (Not available on all disks).
Note: Director's commentarymust have been turned on inthe BD's main menu in
order for thiskey to work.
33.Secondary Audio
On BD disksequipped with multiple director's commentaries inseveral languages,
pressing this keywill cycle through all of thelanguages available for the director's
commentaries. (Not availableon all disks).

5.1Language
5.1.1 OSD: setlanguage used for user interface displayed .
5.1.2 Menu: setlanguage used for BD/DVD menu (not available on alldisks).

5.1.4 Subtitle: selectsubtitle language used for BD/DVD disk (not available onall disks).

5.2Display
5.2.1 TV Type: Select to output NTSC or PAL video format .
5.2.2 Resolution: Setmaximum resolution of your TV here to getbest video quality,
if you arenot sure, please use HDMIAuto, system will read the preferred
resolution your TV supported viaEDID.
5.2.3 TV Aspect: Selectright video ratio based on yourTV. ( Refer tobelow table)
Note: Aspectsetting only effect HDMI andcomponent output, and 4:3 setting has
no effect if resolution hasbeen set to 720p or 1080ior1080p).
Note:4:3PS and 4:3LBonly valid under SD mode (resolutionis 480p/576p or 480i/576i).
5.2.4 Film Mode:system will output 1080p 24Hz ifthis item is set to ONand disk
movies are recordedon film at rate of 24frames per second.
Note: This item only effect when Resolution is set to1080p, and make sure your TV can
support 1080P24Hz mode.
Note: Please ensureyour TV can support deepcolor properly ifyou want to select
30bit/36bit.
5 : bit numbersused to represent the color ofa single pixel in a bitmapped
image or videoframe buffer.
5.2. Color Depth

5.3.2 Digital Output:
If you onlyhave two speakers, set PCM stereo.
If you connectreceiver with more than two speakers,please refer tobelow tables:
5.3.3 Dynamic RangeControl: means that youcan allow the BD player tomake the loud
parts of amovie'saudio track quieter than they would be in thetheatre, without
making the dialogof theactors any quieter. (It effects on analog audio outputand
digital output shouldbe set to PCM or Bitstream Mixed).
5.3 Audio
5.3.1 PCM Downsampling:select right bitratefor PCM signal to ensure yourSPDIF
receiver can handleit correctly. It's noeffect for HDMI digital audio output.

5.4 BD-Live
5.5 System
5.5.1 Optical Disc Auto Play: This option is used to tell the BDplayer whether or not to
start loading themain title menu of a diskas soon as the disk trayis closed.
5.5.2 Time zone: you may usethis menu item to set thetime zone ofplayer internal clock.
5.4.1 BD-Live Internet Access: Control BD playeraccessing internet
Limit access :Only allow the inserted Blu-Ray diskto download content from a
BD-Live website whichhas a valid online certificate. This will reducethe chances
of downloading maliciouscontent onto the player.
Always allow access: Allow the BDthe inserted Blu-Raydisk to access content
from all BD-Liveinternet sites whose internet address isencoded onto the disk.
There is no danger ofmalicious code downloadfrom valid commercialBD disks,
but choosing this option and downloadingBD-live content via illegally authored
BD disks, ordisks obtained from questionable sources, couldresult in malicious
code being downloadedonto the player.
Prohibit access : Blocks the insertedBlu-Ray disk from accessing BD-Live content
over the internet.
5.4.2 BD-Live Storage:
Show BD-Live storageinformation, select storage device to clearBlu-ray storage.
5.4.3 Erase Blu-Ray Storage:Clear Blu-Ray storage.
5.5.3 Screen Saver Duration:
This BD player will activatescreen saver mode after certain periodof time set by
this item whensystem is playing music file orin stop/fullstop mode.
5.5.4 Auto Power Down:System will enter standby after certainperiod of time
automatically if nouser operation.
5.5.5 CEC support:
Set this itemto enable/disable CEC:
The CEC feature is designedto allow CEC-enabled devices to commandand
control each otherwithout user intervention. For example: Ifyour TV is also CEC
-enabled and youwill turn off your TV, the Blu-Ray playerwill get a CEC signal
and turn off automatically. Or if you turn onyour Blu-Ray player, your TV will
automatically turn onand switch to HDMI input.
Note: Not everyCEC-Enabled unit is compatible with thisunit.
5.5.6 Reset Settings:
Reset all settingsto factory default (Parental Control levelwill not be reset).
5.6 Network
Press “ENTER” buttonwhen the item is highlighted, thenselect “ WIRED” to config
network:
5.6.1 Link Status: Show if ethernetcable is connected to BD player.
5.6.2 MAC Address: Show MAC addressof this BDplayer.
5.6.3 IP Mode: Choose IP mode here forinternet access. Choosing “Manual” mode,
5.6.4 ~ 5.6.8will be activated for user input,otherwise they are inactivated.
5.6.4 IP Address: Show current IPaddress or access user input whilein “Manual” IP
mode.
5.6.5 Subnet Mask: Show current SubnetMask or access user input whilein “Manual”
IP mode.
5.6.6 Gateway: Show current Gatewayor access user input while in“Manual” IP mode.
5.6.7 Primary DNS: Show current PrimaryDNS or access user input whilein “Manual”
IP mode.

5.8 Parental
5.8.1 Parental Country:
Use this menuitem to tell the BD playerwhat country you are in.(Currently this
menu item hasno effect)
5.8.2 Parental Control:
To turn parental control ON orOFF,
5.8.3 Parental Level:
To restrict playback of disks encodedwith a rating level equal toor higher than the
level you set.Parental Control must be turned on for this menu item to havean
affect
5.8.4 Parental Password:
Change new passwordfor Parental Control menu operation. (Defaultvalue is: 6666)

6.1 Introduction
This section explainshow to play back PC-type audio,pictures, and video files
that have beenplaced onto a disk or USBmemory stick.
6.2 Supported Audio, Video, Picture files types

Note: External subtitle filemust have name begin with thevideo file name, and it must
be UTF8 orUTF16 encoded. (e.g. For video file:file001.mkv, external subtitle file

5.6.8 Secondary DNS:
Show current SecondaryDNS or access user input whilein “Manual”IP mode.
Press ENTER keywhile Apply button is highlightedto activate setting you made,
or press ENTERkey while Cancel button is highlightedto cancel changes you
made for networksettings.
5.7 Info
This item showssoftware and hardware information for loaderand main board, no
changes are allowed.
