1. Charge the battery by connecting device to a computer or other USB charging adapter
with the included USB cable.
2. Status light will blink RED to indicated charging has begun.
3. When the device is fully charged the status light will blink GREEN
When charging with a computer, be sure that the computer is connected to a power source. If
the camera status light does not turn on or you do not see the charging indicator, use a
different USB port.
Charge AWIRE fully before use.
POWER ON + OFF
To Power On:
Plug headphones into earphone jack, located at top of device. The status lights will blink orange.
While the device is turned on, status light will continuously blink orange to show signal
activation.
To Power Off:
Unplug earphones. The status lights will blink 3 times to indicate power shut down.

BLUETOOTH PAIRING
1. Go to Bluetooth tab on AWIRE app.
2. With AWIRE turned on, tap ‘Scan for AWIRE’
3. Select your device once located in window.
4. Press ‘Connect.’ The status lights will blink BLUE.

5. Once connected, the main page will be activated.
AWIRE TIP:To make searching for your device easier, use the
‘Rename Device’ function to customize your name from
manufacturer ID.
NOTE: Once AWIRE is paired, there is no need for pairing
again, except in the following cases;
‐Pairing information is deleted
‐Another device is paired on phone and information is lost.

COMMUNICATION ACTIVATION
Once AWIRE is connected to your phone, choose what type of communication to use.
1. AWIRE Walkie-Talkie
‐Activates two-way radio via device.
‐Ideal for backcountry or areas with NO cell service.
‐1.5 mile range, line of sight
‐Instant communication with button activation.
‐14 channels
2. Zello Wifi / DATA
‐Activates radio-style talk via Wi-Fi or data plan.
‐With cell phone service, communication can be made
anywhere in the world.
‐Group channels for private talk
‐
Zello will use between 12kbps and 45 kbps when talking.
‐
Average monthly data usage is 70-100 MB.
Individual usage may vary.

Channels: Your radio has 14 channels.

With the radio on, and Bluetooth connected to phone, use the (+ or -) to set channel. The status
light will blink when a channel has been changed.
‐To communicate, all radios in your group must be set to the same channel.
‐
To talk, press and hold Push-to-talk button. When you finish talking, release.
AWIRE TIP:
If you are having difficulty pushing the button with clothing or gloves on, turn the
device around so it’s facing your chest for better surface distribution of pressure.
Squelch:
Suppresses the sound of channel noise when the radio is not receiving a transmission.
Adjusting the squelch can allow all signals entering to be heard. This can be useful when trying
to hear distant, or otherwise weak signals.
‐Use the sliding toggle to adjust the amount of squelch desired for frequency.
‐“0%” is loose squelch (for weak signals) and “100%” is tight squelch (for strong
signals).
Volume: Adjust volume of radio communication to a comfortable level.
‐Slide toggle for volume control
‐“0%” is LOW volume and “100%” is MAX volume.
NOTE: Changing volume on AWIRE App will only adjust the communication audio, media (music
and cellphone) will not be affected.
MIC Selection: Select between ‘Internal Mic’ or ‘External Mic’ for desired microphone location.
AWIRE TIP: Using the ‘External Mic’ option will allow for clearer communication in situations
where there is too much distance or interference between voice and the mic.

ZELLO WIFI/DATA SETTINGS
STEP 1: Download and Install the Zello App To begin, download the Zello app on your Apple iOS
device (iPhone or iPod Touch) or Google Android device. If you have a QR code reading
application on your device (either iOS or Android), you can scan the code below to begin the
download:
STEP 2: Creating a Zello account. After you have installed Zello, open the app. You will be
prompted to either log in to Zello if you have an account with them already, or to set up a new
account if you do not.
STEP 3: Setting up your Zello Profile After you’ve created a login and signed into your new Zello
account, you will have the option to enter in more information about yourself. You can enter in
that information or skip this step and go straight to your new Zello account.
STEP: Start adding your friends. Use Add a contact feature in menu and enter a Zello user ID, e-
mail, or phone number into the search bar and tap the "Search" button. If the user is not found,
you can send an e-mail or text message invite. If the user has an account, tap the user ID and
Zello will send a connection request. The person you added will need to approve your request
before you can start communicating

MUSIC
When connected to Bluetooth, listen to music via your phone’s music app.
‐Music will mute when you have an incoming radio message, and automatically resume
play when conversation is over.
‐To pause music, tap the push-to-talk button once.
‐To resume music, tap the push-to-talk button once.
CELLPHONE CALL
To accept an incoming call, tap the push-to-talk button once to activate phone conversations.
‐Music’s volume will automatically lower when a call is incoming
‐To end call, tap the push-to-talk button twice.
‐Music & radio communication will return to normal.

MAXIMIZING BATTERY LIFE
Extreme cold temperatures can decrease battery life. To maximize battery life in cold conditions,
keep the device in a warm place prior to use. Low or high temperature conditions may
temporarily shorten the battery life or cause the device to temporarily stop working properly.
CHARGING TIME
The battery charges to 100% in approximately 30 minutes when using a USB charging adapter.
Some chargers might charge at a slower rate.
The battery icon is displayed in the AWIRE App main screen. If the battery reaches 0% while in
use, the device beeps twice and powers off.
NOTICE: Only use USB charging adapters marked 5V 1A. If you do not know the voltage and
amperage of your charger, use the included USB cable to charge the device from your
computer.
WARNING: Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, microwave, incinerate, or
paint the device. Do not insert foreign objects into any opening on the device. Do not use the device if it has
been damaged. Disassembling or puncturing the integrated battery can cause an explosion or fire.
