Checkthattheengineisatrestbeforemakingadjustment.
Grindandadjustthebladereelcylinderandbottombladeentirelysothata
newspaperwillbecutsharply.
[IMPORTANT] Lapping
Conductlappingaftermowingoperation(beforeadjustingtheengagement).
1)Checktheentireportionofthebladereelcylindertocheckwhichportionisdull.(Ifa
newspapercannotbecutinanyportion,putintwosheetsofpapertocarefullycheck
whichportionisdull.)
2)Connectthelappingmachine(RM20B)orlappingbolt(option)tothelappingshaftof
themower.
3)Rotate thebladereel cylinderin thedirection oppositeto the mowingdirection, and
applyabrasive witha brushonlyto theportion wherea newspaperwas sharplycut.
Theportion wherea newspaperwas notcut isworn away.Do notapply abrasiveto
suchportions.
※Therightside(whenviewedfromthefrontofthebladereelcylinder)oftheblade
reelcylinderwillbewornaway3-4timesearlierthantheleftside.Whenapplying
abrasivetothebladereelcylinder,besuretomovethebrushfromlefttoright.(See
rightsketch)When theabrasive isamixture ofpowder (#200〜#400)and oil,mix
themattherateof1:3to4.Thegelcompound(option)canbeusedasitis.
4)Keeprotatingthebladereelcylinder,andstoprotationwhenthecontactsound
disappears.Putinanewspaperagaintocheckthebladereelcylinderentirelyforthe
sharpnessofeachportion.
5)Repeatoperations(3)and(4).Whenthebladereelcylinderandbottombladearein
contactwitheachotheruniformly,applyabrasivetothebladereelcylinderentirelyfor
finallapping.
6)Afterlapping,removetheabrasivewithsteam,etc.
Bothbladereelcylinderandbottombladeareedged.Handlethem
carefully.
Becarefulofthefingers,whichturnthebladereelcylinder,when
cuttinga newspapertocheck sharpness. Uniformlylap theright and
leftsidesofthebottombladeincontactwiththebladereelcylinder,and
thelifeofthebladewillbemaximized.

1)Lightlyengagethebladereelcylinderandbottombladeuniformlyonbothsides.
2)Uniformlyadjustthebottombladeontherightandleftsides.
Turnthebladeadjustingnutclockwiseforslightengagement,andturnit
counterclockwiseforfirmengagement.
3)Lightlyengagebothsidestotheextentthatanewspaperwillbecutsharply.
Whenthe bladereel cylinderis wornandthespringpressure decreases,adjust the
springpressureby thespringadjustingscrewand14nut. (Makeadjustmentso that
thespringwillbe50mmlong.)
[IMPORTANT] Camadjustment
Turnthecambushonbothsidesofthebottomblade,andthebladewillberaisedand
loweredwithinamaximumrangeof0.3mm.Theabovemethodisusedwhentheedges
ofthebladereelcylinderandbottombladearenotinparallel.
1)When thereis agapbetween theblade reelcylinderandtheleft frameside ofthe
bottombladeloosenthelocknut,andturntheleftcambushclockwiseasmuchasthe
gap.Turn itclockwiseby 30°toraise thebottomblade by0.1 mm.Afteradjustment,
firmlyfastenthelocknut.
2)Whenthereisagapontherightframeside,loosenthelocknut,andturntherightcam
bushcounterclockwiseasmuchasthegap.
