Warranty Details
The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts
for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur
within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired,
replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for
parts and labour. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition
to all rights and remedies in respect of the product that the consumer
has under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and
territory laws.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for
a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable
loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or
replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does
not amount to a major failure.

Important Warnings and Cautions!
• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this product to water or
moisture. Do not use it where it could fall into or get splashed by water.
• To prevent contact with high voltage components or hazardous radiation exposure,
do not attempt to open the equipment.
• Only use the electrical plug that is provided with the unit. Replacing or altering the
plug may result in damage to the unit and/or serious bodily harm.
• DANGER! This is a Class 1 Laser Product. Invisible laser radiation may be present
when the disc chamber is open or if the chamber locking mechanism
has failed. Do not defeat the interlock mechanism. Do not open the unit.
Avoid exposure to the laser beam. Do not touch the laser lens.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required if any of the
following have occurred: the power cord or plug has been damaged, the unit has
been exposed to rain or moisture, objects have fallen into the unit, the unit has been
dropped or is not working correctly.
• Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight, fire or other sources of excessive heat.
• When electrostatic discharge (ESD) occurs at the front surface (whether metal or
plastic) or near any part or any button of this unit, there may be a possibility that
the product may stop operation and/or shut down immediately. This is a normal
condition and intended to protect the unit and internal components against damage.
In such a case, please reset the unit (by disconnecting and reconnecting the AC
power source) to revert the unit to normal operation.

General Precautions
• Install the unit in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
• Do not install the unit near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves
or other objects (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
• Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases or drinks, on top of the unit.
• Use the unit only with the accessories that are sold with the unit.
• Avoid putting extensive stress on the power cord, especially at the connection points.
• When operated with mains electricity, this unit can only be switched off completely
by unplugging it from the mains supply. Make sure the socket you use is not
obstructed and readily accessible so it can be unplugged immediately in an
emergency.
• To ensure proper ventilation and operation, do not block any ventilation openings.
• Unplug the unit during lightning storms or when it is not in use for long periods of time.
• Do not stare at the pick-up lens or look at the laser beam. It may cause damage to
your eyesight.
• Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.
• Keep candles or other open flames away from this product at all times.
• Placing this unit near a TV, radio or DVD may adversely affect the playback picture
and sound. In such a case, move the unit away from the TV, radio or DVD.
• This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
• Do not use the unit in a place subject to vibration. Neglecting this may cause
malfunction of the unit or damage to the disc.
• Keep the original packaging for future transport of the unit. For maximum protection,
repack the unit as it was originally packaged.
• When the unit is not in use, be sure to remove the disc and turn off the power.
• If you do not use the unit for a long of period of time, the unit may not function
properly in the future. We therefore suggest you turn on and use the unit
occasionally.
• Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the unit.
• Do not use any type of solvent, such as thinner and benzene, as they may damage
the surface of the unit.

Moisture Condensation
• Moisture condensation damages the optical pick-up lens inside this unit, one of
the most crucial internal parts of the unit. Do not use the player when moisture
condensation occurs.
• The unit may suffer from condensation in the following situations:
• When you take it directly from a cold to a warm place, and vice versa.
• When you use the unit in a room where you just turned on a heater, or where cold
air from an air conditioner is directed onto the unit.
• When you use the unit in hot and humid surrounds just after having moved it from
an air conditioned room.
• When the room is steamy or damp.
Disc Protection
• Do not touch the playback side of the disc.
• Do not attach tape or paper to the disc.
• To clean off dust, slightly moisten a soft cloth, wipe the disc and finish with a dry
cloth.
• To prevent warping, store discs vertically in a case, away from heat sources,
moisture and dust.
• Do not use any type of solvent, benzene or antistatic spray as these may damage
discs.

AC Operation
• Before connecting the Portable CD
Boombox to your household electricity
supply, make sure your outlet voltage
and circuit frequency correspond to the
voltage stated on the product.
• Plug the AC power cord into the AC input
at the back of the boombox, then insert
the plug into an appropriately earthed wall
outlet with AC power.
• IMPORTANT: Make sure to set the
function switch to the OFF position when
the unit is not in use to conserve power.
Battery Operation
• Open the battery door at the bottom
of the boombox and insert 6 C-size
batteries (not supplied) into the battery
compartment following the polarity
(+ / -) markings.
• Be sure that the batteries are inserted
correctly to avoid damage to the
appliance.
• IMPORTANT: When you are not going
to use the Portable CD Boombox for 4
weeks or longer, or you are only using it
powered with mains electricity, remove
the batteries to avoid battery leakage, which can damage the unit.
• Always use fresh batteries of the same type. Never use different types of battery, or
old and used batteries, together.
• To use the appliance with batteries, disconnect the AC power cord from it.
Getting Started
Before First Use
• Unpack the appliance but keep all packaging materials until you have made sure
your new Portable CD Boombox is undamaged and in good working order. Plastic
wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all
packaging materials are out of their reach.
• Inspect the cord and plug for damage. Do not use the product if the product or its
cord have been damaged or are not working properly.

Radio Operation
• Slide the function switch to AM or FM.
• Rotate the tuning dial to tune into the desired station.
• Extend and adjust the telescopic antenna (for FM) and position the set (for AM) to
obtain the best reception.
• Adjust the volume dial to the desired level.
• Slide the function switch to the OFF position to turn off the radio.
Using the Audio Line-In Connection (AUX IN)
You can connect the audio output of an external audio device, such as an MP3 player,
to this unit to listen to the sound of that device through the speakers of this boombox.
Such a connection requires a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
• Connect a 3.5mm audio cable to the 3.5mm audio input on this unit and the
headphones socket or the audio output of your MP3 player or other audio device.
• Slide the function switch to CD/Line In mode.
• Switch on the external device and use its controls to play your audio through the
boombox.
Insertion and Removal of Discs
• When opening the CD door, always ensure the disc is not in motion (not spinning).
Always press the STOP button to stop the disc spinning first.
• Place a finger in the CD door opening recess and gently lift the CD door open.
• Place a CD into the compartment with the label (printed) side of the disc facing
upwards. Press down in the centre part of the disc until the disc locks onto the
centre spindle.
• Gently lower the CD door downwards until it locks shut. The CD is now ready to be
played.
• To remove a disc, follow the same procedure as described above, except remove
the CD instead of inserting it into the compartment. Place one finger at the middle
of the disc (centre spindle) and the other at the edge of the disc and gently pull the
disc upwards to remove it.
• IMPORTANT: Always hold a CD by its edges to avoid getting any fingerprints,
smudges or dirt onto the disc surface. In case this happens, use a special CD
cleaning cloth or kit to remove the dirt or smudges.

CD Operation
• Insert a CD as described on the previous page.
• Slide the function switch to CD/LINE IN: the CD will spin momentarily and then the
display will show the total number of tracks on the disc.
• Press the PLAY/PAUSE button: the disc will start spinning and the first song
(track) will start playing. The display will indicate the current track number (“01”
if it is the first track).
• At any time during playback, press the STOP button to stop operation of the set.
This will reset the CD player to the first track. (If you press PLAY after STOP, the first
track will always start playing.)
• At any time during playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause operation
of the unit. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to resume operation at the same track
and position.
• At any time during playback, quick press the BACK or NEXT button to skip
backwards or forwards by one track, as desired.
• At any time during playback, press and hold the BACK or NEXT button to
fast-reverse (review) or fast-forward (cue) the specific track that is currently playing.
Programming a CD
• Insert a CD as described on the previous page, then play the CD as described
above.
• Press the STOP button to stop the CD during playback.
• Press the PROGRAM button, “01” will begin flashing on the display.
• Press the / SKIP/SEARCH buttons to select a track.
• Press the PROGRAM button to save the selected track to the program.
• Repeat the last two steps above to program up to 20 tracks.
Repeat Playback Function
• At any time during playback, press the REPEAT button as follows:
• Press once to repeat the current track: the display will show:
• Press twice to repeat all tracks (the whole CD): the display will show:
• Press a third time to cancel the repeat function.

Goods or Parts Notice
Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to
be returned to the supplier for repair.
Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data
(such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on
a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on
a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of
repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost. We recommend you save this
data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair.
You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them
with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair
process.
