Battery installation
• Open the battery cover on
the underside of the unit.
• Insert 6 x DC 1.5V size C
batteries (not included)
following the polarity
as indicated in the
compartment to the right.
Alkaline batteries are
recommended for longer
lasting usage. Press the
battery cover back to close.
NOTE: Unless the unit is
plugged into a mains supply,
time settings will be lost if
the batteries are removed.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
POWER OPTIONS:
Batteries: Insert 6 x DC 1.5V
size C batteries (not included)
into the battery compartment.
Adaptor: Plug the adaptor into the AC
power jack on the back of the CD
player, then plug it into the mains
and turn it on.
RADIO:
Plug the CD player into the mains and turn
it on.
Slide the function switch to RADIO.
Select the desired radio band using the
band selector for AM/FM or FM Stereo.
Turn the tuning dial to select the radio
station you require.
Adjust the volume dial to the desired
volume.
RECEPTION:
AM – If AM reception is weak, change the
position of the CD player until it picks up a
stronger signal.
FM – If a stereo broadcast program is being
received, the FM stereo indicator will light
up. During FM or FM Stereo operation,
always extend the wire antenna to ensure
good reception.
CD PLAYER:
When handling a compact disc (CD) place
a nger through the centre and with your
thumb hold the edge of the disc.
TO USE THE CD FUNCTION:
1. Slide the function switch to CD.
2. Open the CD tray by pressing the door
release button.
3. Place the CD on the tray label side up
and close the CD tray.
4. At this point the CD will spin briey and
the LED display will show the number
of tracks that are on the disc.
Note:
• Please do not place anything other than
a CD in the CD tray as this may cause
damage to it.
• If the disc is dirty or scratched it may
not play correctly.
• Never force the CD tray as this may
damage the product.
• Never insert more than one CD at a
time.
CD CONTROLS:
Play/Pause Mode:
Press the Play/Pause button to begin
playing the CD. Press the Play/Pause button
again to pause playback.
STOP:
Press the Stop button to stop playback.
SKIP UP/SKIP DOWN:
Press the Skip Up button to skip to the
next song or track on the CD.
Press the Skip Down button to skip to
the previous song or track on the CD.

SEARCH FORWARD/ SEARCH BACKWARD:
Press and hold the Search Forward button
to search the current track with audible high
speed playback.
Press and hold the Search Back button to
search the current track backwards with
audible high speed playback.
REPEAT:
Press the Repeat button during playback to
select a repeat function.
Press Repeat once to repeat 1 track.
The repeat indicator will light and blink
continuously.
Press the Repeat button twice to repeat
all tracks. The repeat indicator will light
steadily.
Press the Repeat button three times or until
the repeat indicator is o to turn o repeat.
Up to 20 tracks can be programmed in any
order. Before attempting to program, press
the Stop button.
1. Make sure the CD function has been
selected and the CD playback has been
stopped using the Stop button.
2. Press the Program button. The display
will show 01 and the program indicator
will ash.
3. Select the track you wish to program
using the skip buttons.
4. Once the required track has been
selected, press the Program button to
store the track or song into memory.
The LED display will now show 02 and
ash to prompt you to store the next
song.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to store additional
songs or tracks into memory.
6. When all the desired songs or tracks
have been programmed, press the
Play/Pause button to play the songs/
tracks in the new assigned order.
7. Press the Stop button to stop
programmed playback.
8. Press the Program button again to
review the songs/tracks that have been
programmed.
9. Remove all programmed memory by
pressing the Stop button twice while
the programmed playback is running,
or by opening the CD door while
playback is stopped.
AUX- IN:
Connect one end of an Aux cable (not
included) to the Aux. 1 input jack, and
connect the other end to an MP3 player or
other audio device.
Turn on the CD player. It will automatically
start up in AUX mode.
Adjust the volume controls on both the CD
player and your external device.
You can now play or skip songs using the
controls on your audio device.

TROUBLESHOOTING THE APPLIANCE
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Noise or sound
distorted on AM or FM
broadcast.
The AM or FM station is not
tuned properly.
FM: FM telescopic antenna is
not extended.
AM: The bar antenna is not
positioned correctly.
Re-tune the AM or FM broadcast
station.
FM: Extend the telescopic FM
antenna.
AM: Reposition the unit until
strong reception is obtained.
No sound in AM or FM
modes.
The unit is not in Radio mode.
The volume is set to minimum.
Slide the Function switch to the
“RADIO” position.
Increase the volume.
The CD player will not
play.
The unit is not in CD mode.
The CD has not been loaded
correctly.
If the CD is self-compiled,
the media used may not be
compatible with the player.
Slide the Function switch to the
‘CD’ position.
Load the CD into the player with
the label side up.
Use better quality blank media
and retest.
The CD skips while
playing.
The disc is dirty or scratched. Wipe the CD with a cleaning cloth
or use another disc.
Intermittent sound
from the CD player.
Dirty or defective disc.
Dirty pick up lens.
The unit is subject to
excessive shock or vibration.
Clean or replace the defective
disc.
Use a CD lens cleaning disc to
clean the lens.
Relocate the unit away from any
source of shock or vibration.
The sound is distorted
when playing at a high
volume.
The volume is set to
maximum.
Adjust the volume to a lower
level.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
IMPORTANT
As the colours in the
mains lead of this
appliance may not
correspond with the
coloured markings
identifying the terminals
in your plug, please
proceed as follows:
The wires in the mains
lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code:
Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L]
Plug Fitting Details (Where Applicable).
The wire coloured blue is the neutral and
must be connected to the terminal marked
[N] or coloured black.
The wire coloured brown is the live wire
and must be connected to the terminal
marked [L] or coloured red.
On no account must either the brown or
the blue wire be connected to the [EARTH]
terminal .
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened
correctly.
The plug must be tted with a fuse of the
same rating already tted and conforming
to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved.
If in doubt consult a qualied electrician
who will be pleased to do this for you.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-
rewireable plug tted to the mains lead and
should the fuse need replacing, you must
use an ASTA approved one (conforming to
BS 1362 of the same rating).
If in doubt, consult a qualied electrician
who will be pleased to do this for you.
If you need to remove the plug - disconnect
it from the mains - and then cut it o the
mains lead and immediately dispose of its
safely. Never attempt to reuse the plug or
insert it into a socket outlet as there is a
danger of an electric shock.
WARNING:
This appliance is double insulated.
Do not connect any wire to the earth terminal.

CLEANING AND CARE
CD PLAYER:
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and a mild
detergent solution. Never use solutions
containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia or
abrasives to clean the unit.
CLEANING CDS:
When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a
cleaning cloth. Start cleaning at the centre
and work your way towards the outer edge
of the disc.
Do not use solvents such as benzene,
thinner, commercially available cleaners, or
antistatic spray intended for analog records.
CLEAN THE DISC LENS:
After prolonged use, dirt or dust may
accumulate on the disc lens. To ensure
good image and playback quality, clean the
disc lens with a camera lens brush or any
commercially available cleaners. Take care
to follow the instructions supplied with the
cleaner to prevent damage to the lens.
NOTE: DO NOT touch the lens directly with
your ngers as this may damage it or make
it dirtier.
RECYCLING
DISPOSAL OF THE UNIT:
Appliances bearing the symbol shown here may not be disposed of in domestic rubbish.
You are required to dispose of old electrical and electronic appliances like this separately.
