This product is packed with power and technology to
provide fast and efficient clean air. We hope that you
enjoy using your new unit!
Purifying the air you breathe is no longer a superfluous
luxury. An increasing number of micro-organisms can
be found in the air, including viruses, bacteria and
moulds, and these make our air less healthy to breath.
We are increasingly made aware of how dangerous
these micro-organisms could become for human
beings. As these microorganisms cannot be seen with
the naked eye and are spreading through the air, this
hazard becomes even more pronounced. Research
indicates that the air quality in enclosed spaces can
be very poor indeed. Office areas, children’s day-care
centers, classrooms, old people’s homes and family
doctors’ or dentists’ surgeries are examples of areas
where many people come together, and where the
risk of infection through the air is correspondingly
higher. Our houses are also much better insulated
than they used to be, with the result that natural
ventilation is steadily reduced. The quality of the air
inside is therefore often poorer than we think. Poor air
quality at home is not only responsible for diseases,
but can also be the cause of headaches, respiratory
irritation, insomnia and allergies.
With UV HALO device, you can disinfect the air up to
90% in areas up to 30 m3. In the case of larger areas,
you can install several devices or turn on device for
longer time. Viruses, bacteria, moulds and other
micro-organisms that are present in the air are
rendered harmless by the device and are removed
from the air, together with pollen, dust and odours.

Your UV HALO is the ideal tool to keep the air around
you safe and healthy.
The air is drawn into the topside of the device using a
ventilator, thereby creating air circulation in the room.
The ventilator circulates 30 m3of air through the unit
per hour. For the best results, it is recommended
to keep your unit running 12-24 hours a day in the
places with . After passing through the air inlet, the
air is treated with UV-C radiation. The special Philips
or BBT UV air ozone-free UV-C lamp in the unit
generates an ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength
of 253.7 nanometres. The UV-C light destroys viruses,
bacteria, moulds and other primitive organisms.
The radiation damages the DNA structure of micro-
organisms and prevents their reproduction.
The integrated timer keeps an accurate record of
the number of operating hours of the lamp. This will
tell you precisely when to replace the lamp. In areas
where more dust is present, the fixture must be
cleaned more often. The air that is blown out from the
outlet at the bottom of the unit has been disinfected
to 95-99%. Clean air in your living environment is
better for your health. Pure air not only increases
the resistance of the body against diseases, but also
reduces respiratory problems, or could prevent such
problems completely. Anxiety and depression are

immerse any part of the system in water or in any
other liquids.
11. Do not attempt to repair or replace any part of this
equipment unless it is specifically recommended
in this manual. The cable of the device cannot be
replaced. The complete unit must be replaced if
there is any damage to the power cable. Never
remove the plug, but always leave the electrical
unit intact. An electrical unit with the plug removed
will no longer be covered by the guarantee. All
other services should be referred to a qualified
technician.
12. Plug the unit into a 220V AC outlet only, 50-60Hz,
if unsupervised, it may cause an electric shock.
13. Do not use the device if any of the components
are damaged.
When using your AS8.1 or AS8.2 model, basic safety
precautions should be observed, including the
following.
1. Use the unit only for its intended use. This product
can only be used according to the guidelines
described in these instructions for use.
2. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not
immerse any part of the system in water or in any
other liquids.
3. This appliance is NOT a toy. Keep children away
from this device and from the cable.
4. This appliance is NOT to be used by children or
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities.
5. Children should be supervised at all times.
6. Never look directly at a burning ultra-violet light,
as this may permanently damage your eyes.
7. To reduce the risk of an electric shock or damage
to the unit, switch the off and unplug before
cleaning or performing any maintenance to the
unit.
8. Heed all warnings.
This device produces harmful radiation. Direct
contact could impair the eyes and skin.
1. No form of water or liquid should enter the unit.
Should this occur, immediately switch off the unit
and unplug it.
2. Do not place any heavy objects on the power cord
as this may cause a fire and/or an electric shock.
3. Make sure the power cord is plugged firmly into
the outlet. If the power is not plugged in correctly,
this may cause a fire.
4. Do not touch the plug with wet hands, as this may
cause serious injuries as well as never insert the
plug / pull the plug from the socket when you are
standing in water.
5. Do not block the air inlet of the unit, as this will
reduce the airflow and result in poor performance
and damage the unit.
6. Do not sit, stand or place heavy objects on the
unit, as this may result in injury and/or damage
to the unit.
7. Do not move the product while it is switched on
as this may cause a fire and/or an electric shock.
Always remove the plug from the socket before
carrying out any maintenance or repair work on
the unit.
8. Do not alter or modify the plug or cord of this unit
as it could cause a fire or an electric shock.
9. Use the proper power cable and outlet, do
not over-load the outlets with several cords
simultaneously. Always comply with the electricity
company’s regulations with regard to any
permanent connection to the mains. If there is
any doubt regarding the connection, consult a
recognized electrician or the electricity company.
Always work with an earth leakage current circuit-
breaker (residual current trip).

UV HALO luminaires use ultraviolet light, destroy
the DNA or RNA of all microorganisms that will be
exposed and remove viruses, bacteria and fungi from
the air. Covered UVC light does not reach the outside
of the lamp. Thanks to stimulated circulation, the air
passes through luminaire interior, where it is exposed
to the light and cleaned, and then pushed outside. UV
HALO luminaires may work in the presence of people.
Only check the operation of the UV-C lamp through
the air vents at the top of the unit. The openings will
light up blue if the lamp is on.
1. Determine where the device will be installed. When
selecting a location for the device, please bear in
mind that the unit must be able to circulate the
air in the room freely and without obstructions.
Also ensure that there is a power socket near the
selected location. Install the device in a dry place.
2. Place the lamp in a disinfected room, if possible
in a central place, to increase the effectiveness
of disinfection. Remember that the disinfection
efficiency in a given place decreases as the
distance from the lamp increases. Never install
the unit in an area subject to full sunlight.
3. Do not cover the luminaire fan, do not place any
objects on the luminaire. In order not to disturb
circulation, leave an empty space and do not put
any objects within 0,5 m of the luminaire fan.
4. There may be people in the room. They can move
freely and do not need protective clothing or
glasses.
5. Do not open the luminaire covers during
its operation. Secure the luminaire against
uncontrolled opening by other people, especially
pay attention to children.

2. Remove the pipe clips from the device and fix them
at the selected location with suitable screws and/or
plugs.
3. Place the UV HALO in the fixed pipe clips and screw
the brackets into place.
4. Insert the plug into the socket and check the
operation of the UV-C lamp – only do this through the
air vents at the top or bottom of the unit! Blue light
can be seen through the air vents of the lid if the lamp
is on.
5. Check the operation of the ventilator by holding
your hand on the top the unit grid. If you feel an air
flow, the ventilator is working.
6. Check if the display with countdown of UV-C lamp
lifetime is working – numbers on the display will
light on and will show 8000*. The UV HALO can be
set using the display on the front of the device. The
display easily operated with just the one button –
switch ON/OFF.
7. Switching off the device: it is not necessary to
switch off the device during the day because it has
been designed to operate 24 hours a day to avoid
the formation of new micro-organisms. You can
switch the device off by pressing ON/OFF button and
removing the plug from the socket.

‘8000.’: If you press the button once in the rest position, the operating
hours will be displayed. The display will automatically start from the
factory setting of the timer, i.e. 8,000 hours. The UV-C lamp operates
at 100% radiation for up to 8,000 hours. After 8,000 operating hours,
the UV-C radiation will weaken, and may be insufficient to obtain the
desired results. If the device is switched off and then on again, the hour

The UV-C light emitted by the lamp is highly harmful
to humans and other living organisms, damages
eyesight, skin and cell DNA. UV-C light degrades the
DNA and RNA code in the cells of living organisms.
After starting the luminaire no people or animals
should be within the range of direct UVC rays.
Damage to the luminaire will not affect your health
while maintaining basic precautions. If the fluorescent
lamps break, ventilate the room for 30 minutes and
remove the contaminated parts, preferably with
gloves. Place them in a sealed plastic bag and take to
a local waste disposal facility for recycling. Do not use
a vacuum cleaner to remove damaged parts.
OPERATIONAL SAFETY DISMANTLING / MAINTENANCE
6. Do not open the window while the luminaire is
operating, as this will reduce the effectiveness of
disinfection. We recommend ventilating the room
after operating hours of the device.
7. We recommend using the product in rooms with
unobstructed ventilation.
8. When switching on the device for the first time,
you may notice a burning smell from the UV-C
lamp for a short time. This odour is similar to the
odour you notice when using a sun bed, and will
disappear after a short time. This smell does not
pose a threat to the users of the device.
9. Once the device has been switched off, the lamp
will remain hot for approximately 10 minutes.
10. A small amount of visible blue light – which is a
reflected light, does not contain UVC radiation
and is safe for humans.
1. Remove the UV HALO together with the supplied
pipe clips from the packaging and position the UV
HALO with the pipe clips at the selected location so
that you can mark where the pipe clips should be
fitted onto the solid back wall (in case of wall-mounted
option). In case of installation in vertical or horizontal
position on the surface in the chosen place, please,
use vertical holder or horizontal support stand
accordingly for safety and comfortable usage.

‘0000.’: The display will indicate 0000 when the 8,000 operating hours
of the lamp have expired. The actual time will be shown in the display,
alternating with four numbers. The UV-C lamp must now be replaced.
During maintenance work, or when dismantling
the device, always switch off the power supply by
removing the plug from the socket. The device must
be cleaned at least once a year. The special lamp
must be replaced after 8,000 operating hours at the
latest. Clean the aluminium interior with a soft cloth.

TURN OFF the device and remove plug from the
socket.
Using a screwdriver, unscrew the 1 screw on
the top of cup holder, and 2 screws from the
cup holder on the sides of it. Remove the cup
and screws. Be carefull while removing the cup,
do not disconnet the cables. Put the cup holder
aside of the device.
Carefully insert the (new) UV-C lamp into the
lamp clip pushing the UV-C lamp through. Turn
the lamp by a quarterturn to fix it more tightly
into the lamp fittings (8).
Carefully install the plastic diffuser by slightly
pushing it in the direction of bottom part of the
device. Be sure that diffuser joints the aluminium
housing by grooves tightly.
Install the cup holder on the top of the device, be
sure all cables are inside of it. Using a screwdriver,
Insert the plug into the socket and check the
operation of the UV-C lamp. Check the operation
of the ventilator by holding your hand over the
device. If you feel an air flow, the ventilator is
working.

fittings (5) then turn it by a quarter-turn to
enable you to easily remove the UV-C lamp from
the lamp clip of the device. Clean the interior of
the aluminium housing with a soft dry cloth.

sides and 1 screw on the top of it.

The guarantee for this product covers manufacturing
faults for a period of 12 months following the date of
purchase. The lamp is not included in this guarantee.
Claims under the guarantee can only be considered
if the product is returned post-paid together with
a guarantee registration form and a valid purchase
receipt. Repairs under the guarantee may only be
carried out by the supplier. Guarantee claims that are
caused by errors in the installation or in the operation
of the device will not be considered. Defects originating
from poor maintenance are also excluded from the
guarantee. The supplier will not be held responsible
in any way whatsoever for any damage caused by the
incorrect operation of the product. The supplier will
not be liable for any consequential damage caused by
the breakdown of the device. Complaints regarding
transport damage will only be considered if the
damage was established or confirmed on delivery by
the carrier or the postal authorities. A claim can only
be made against the carrier or the postal authorities
if this has been done.
The symbol of the barred bin printed on the product
means that it must be collected separately from other
rubbish when it will not be anymore in use. The user,
at the end of the life of the product, will have to bring
it to a proper rubbish collection center for electric and
electrical devices. A differentiated refuse collection is
environmentally friendly and it helps the recycle of the
materials, any other collection procedure is unlawful
and will be subject to the law in force.
