compactdesign,DIN‐railtypemouting,andcarryingallmajorinterfaces,suchas
USB2.0,serial,VGAandhighresolutionaudio.Inaddition,itisequippedwithtwo
RJ‐45portsandsupportswebserverservicestoaccommodatetothenetwork
communicationenvironmenttoday.

JetBoxinasimpleway.

thesecommercialtoolsandaddpopularSWmodulessuchasopenVPNand
openSWANtocompresstheFedora10sizeto2.7GandstoredinaCFcard.ACFcard
ismuchreliablethanaharddrivewhenadeviceisinstalledinahashorvibrational
environment.Hence,theJetBoxwithpre‐installedLinuxCFcardisaready‐to‐use
solution.Itiseasierandmoreconvenientforcustomers.

powerswitchtooffandunplugAC‐toDCAdaptercable.
2. Installanyconnector,CompactFlash,andharddiskissurethatthepoweris
disconnectedorpowerswitchtoofffromthesystem.Ifnot,thismay
damagethesystem.
3. TheESD(ElectricityStaticDischarge)maybecreatedfromhumanbodythat
touchestheboard.Itmaydodamagetotheboardcircuit.

BIOSareaprogramlocatedonaFlashmemorychiponacircuitboard.Itisusedto
initializeandsetuptheI/Operipheralsandinterfacecardsofthesystem,which
includestime,date,harddiskdrive,theISAbusandconnecteddevicessuchasthe
videodisplay,diskettedrive,andthekeyboard.Thisprogramwillnotbelostwhen
youturnoffthesystem.
TheBIOSprovidesamenu‐driveninterfacetotheconsolesubsystem.Theconsole
subsystemcontainsspecialsoftware,calledfirmwarethatinteractsdirectlywiththe
hardwarecomponentsandfacilitatesinteractionbetweenthesystemhardwareand
theoperatingsystem.
TheBIOSdefaultvaluesensurethatthesystemwillfunctionatitsnormalcapability.
Intheworstsituationtheusermayhavecorruptedtheoriginalsettingssetbythe
manufacturer.
AllthechangesyoumakewillbesavedinthesystemRAMandwillnotbelostafter
power‐off.
Whenyoustartthesystem,theBIOSwillperformaself‐diagnosticstestcalledPower
OnSelfTest(POST)foralltheattacheddevices,accessories,andthesystem.Press
the[Del]keytoentertheBIOSSetupprogram,andthenthemainmenuwillshowon
thescreen.
