4 Preparation
4.1 Sorting the laundry CINFORMATION
• Laundry soiled with materials such as
flour, lime dust, milk powder, etc. must
be shaken out well before being placed in
the machine. Such dust and powder on
the laundry may accumulate on the inner
parts of the machine over time and cause
damage.
• Put angora wool items in the freezer for
a few hours before washing. In this
way, lint is reduced.
• Wash trousers and delicates
inside out.
• Stubborn stains should be treated
carefully before washing. Check
with a dry cleaner if you are not
sure.
• Remove all objects from the pockets such
as coins, pens and paper clips, and turn
the pockets inside out and brush them
out if possible. Similar items can damage
the product
damage or cause noise.
* Sort the laundry according to the type
of fabric, colour, degree of soiling
and permitted water temperature.
* Always follow the instructions
on the clothing labels.
4.2 Preparing the
laundry for washing
• Underwire bras and clothing with metal parts
such as buckles or buttons will damage the
machine. Remove the metal parts or wash
these clothes after putting metal parts in a
cotton laundry bag or cotton pillowcase. In
addition, this type of clothing can overheat
during drying and damage other clothing. Do
not use the machine to dry such clothes.
• Place small clothes such as baby
socks and nylon tights in a cotton
laundry bag or cotton pillowcase.
• Insert curtains without compressing
them. Remove fastening hooks from the
curtains. Do not dry
tulle curtains in your machine.
• Close zippers, sew loose buttons and
mend tears.
• Wash 'machine washable' or 'hand washable'
products only with a suitable program. Dry
them by hanging or laying them flat. Do not
use the machine to dry such clothes.
• Do not wash colors and white goods together.
New, dark-colored cotton fabrics give off a lot
of color. Wash them separately.
• Only use paint / color refreshers and
descaling agents that are suitable for
machine washing. Always follow the
instructions on the packaging.
4.3 Tips to save energy
and water
The following information will help you
use the product in an ecological and
energy-saving manner.
• Operate the product at the highest load
capacity allowed by the program you
selected, but do not over load. See
“Program and consumption table”.
• Always follow the instructions
on the detergent packaging.
• Wash lightly soiled laundry at low temperatures.
• Use faster programs for small amounts of
lightly soiled laundry.
• Do not use prewash and high temperatures for
laundry that is not heavily soiled or stained.
• If you plan to dry your laundry in the
dryer, select the highest recommended
spin speed during the washing process.
• Do not use more detergent than the amount
recommended on the suit.

The detergent to be used depends on the
washing program, type of material and colour.
• Use different detergents for colored
and white clothes.
• Wash your delicate clothes with special
detergents (liquid detergent, wool detergent,
etc.) especially for delicate clothes and on the
recommended programs.
• It is recommended to use a liquid
detergent for washing dark clothes
and blankets.
• Wash wool on the recommended program
with a special wool detergent.
• View the program descriptions section for
recommended programs
for different substances.
• All detergent recommendations are
valid for the selectable
temperature range of programs.
4.7.6.1 If the product is
fitted with a liquid
detergent container:
• Place the liquid detergent container
in compartment No. "2".
• If the liquid detergent is no longer very liquid,
dilute it with water before adding it to the
liquid detergent compartment.
2
4.7.6.2 If the product is
fitted with a liquid
detergent compartment:
aPAY ATTENTION! • Press the dot indicated to turn the appliance if
you want to use liquid detergent. The part that
falls down will act as a seal for the liquid
detergent.”
• If necessary, clean the appliance with water
while it is in place or by removing it.
• Only use detergents specifically intended
for the washing machine.
17 / NL Washer Dryer / User Manual

• If you use powder detergent, the appliance
must be locked in the top position. The fan
you would see in this position is mixing it
to dissolve the powder
4.7.8 Use of starch
• Add liquid starch, powder starch or colorant to
the fabric softener compartment.
• Do not use fabric softener and
starch together in a wash cycle.
• Wipe the inside of the machine with a
damp and clean cloth after using
starch.
4.7.9 Using bleach
4.7.6.3 If the product is not
fitted with a liquid
detergent container:
• Select a program with prewash and add bleach at
the start of the prewash. Do not put detergent
in the prewash compartment. You can also
choose a program with an extra drying step, put
the bleach in the empty detergent compartment
and as soon as you see the first rinse step on the
display, put 1 glass of water in the same
compartment.
• Do not use bleach mixed
with detergent.
• Use a small amount (about 50 ml) of
bleach and rinse the clothes well, as this
will cause skin irritation. Do not pour
bleach on the laundry and do not use it
with colored laundry.
• When using oxygen-based bleaches, choose a
program that washes the laundry at a low
temperature.
• You can use an oxygen-based bleach with the
detergent. However, if the detergent has a
different consistency, first add the detergent
into the detergent compartment No.
2 and wait for the machine to take in the
detergent together with water. While the
machine continues to take in water, add the
bleach to the same compartment.
• Do not use liquid detergent for prewash in
a program with prewash.
• Liquid detergent will stain your clothes when
used with the Delayed Start function. If you
are going to use the Delayed Start function, do
not use liquid detergent.
4.7.7 Use gel and detergent tablets
• If the gel detergent is liquid and your machine
is not equipped with a special container for
liquid detergent, put the gel detergent in the
main wash compartment during the first
water supply. If your product has a liquid
detergent container, put the detergent in this
container before starting the programme.
• If the gel detergent is not liquid or is in a
capsule, put it directly into the drum
before washing.
• Place the detergent tablets in the main wash
compartment (compartment no. "2") or directly
into the drum before washing.
CINFORMATION 4.7.10 Using anti-limescale
products
• Detergents in tablet form can leave residues
in the detergent compartment. If you
encounter such residue, place the detergent
in tablet form between the laundry, near
the lower part of the drum in future washes.
• If necessary, only use anti-
limescale agents specifically
designed for washing machines.
CINFORMATION
• Use the detergent in gel or tablet form
without selecting the prewash function.
• Remember to remove items such as the
plastic detergent compartment from the
drum before drying.

4.10 Displayed program time SPECIAL CASE:When starting the Cottons and
Cottons Eco programmes, the display shows the
duration of half a load, which is the most
common use. After the program starts, the
actual load is detected by the machine within
20-25 minutes. If the detected load is higher
than half a load, the washing program will be
adjusted accordingly and the program duration
will be increased automatically. You can see this
change on the display.
You can see the duration of the program
on the machine's screen when you select
a program. The duration of the program
is automatically adjusted while the
program is running, depending on the
amount of laundry you have loaded in
your machine, the foam, an unbalanced
load, fluctuations in the power supply,
the water pressure and the program
settings.
