2. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future references.
This Billion Appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled properly and per the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to
use based on scientic evidence available today.
• Never immerse the iron in water.
• Check if the voltage indicated on the type plate corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord or the appliance itself shows visible damage, or if the appliance has been dropped.
• If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Billion, a service center authorized by Billion or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the mains.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
• Do not let the mains cord come into contact with the hot soleplate of the iron.
• Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
• Check the mains cord regularly for possible damage.
• Always place and use the iron on a stable, level and horizontal surface.
• The soleplate of the iron can become extremely hot and may cause burns if touched.
• When you have nished ironing, when you clean the appliance and also when you leave the iron even for a short while: put the iron on its heel and remove the mains plug from
the wall socket.
• The appliance is intended for household use only.

3. USING THE APPLIANCE
3.1 Before rst use
• Unwind & straighten the power cord using Stress and Twist Reliever.
• Remove the soleplate sticker, if any.
• Connect the Iron to a suitable mains supply outlet.
• Turn the temperature control dial to desired textile setting, Amber SMART Feedback Indicator glows.
• SMART Feedback indicator turns “OFF” when the required temperature is reached.
• When switching ON Iron for the rst time, there might be some emission of fumes. These fumes are caused due to burning of protective lubricants. It is not a product fault & will
disappear after 1 or 2 heating cycles.
• Iron a damped towel for removing any protective chemical left on the sole plate. After a few minutes the Iron is ready for proper use.
3.2 Hints for Ironing
• Sort out the articles to be Ironed per the type of Fabric. This will minimize the frequency of temperature adjustment for different types of garments.
• Test Ironing a small area on the back side or inside the garment if you are unsure about the type of fabric. Start with a low temperature & increase gradually.
• Wait for about three minutes before Ironing heat sensitive fabrics. Temperature adjustment needs certain time to reach the required level, no matter it is higher or lower.
• Delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, velour etc. are best ironed with an ironing cloth to prevent shine marks.

• Put the Iron on its heel.
• To set the required ironing temperature, turn the temperature dial to appropriate position.
• Check laundry care label for the required ironing temperature (refer image to the right):

• If you don’t know the type of fabric you’re ironing, determine the right temperature by ironing the part that is
not visible when you wear or use the fabric.
• For Silk, woolen & synthetic materials, iron the reverse side of the fabric to avoid shiny patches.
• Start ironing the clothes that require the lowest ironing temperature, such as those made of synthetic bres.
• Connect the Iron to recommended mains supply outlet.
• Turn the temperature control dial in clockwise direction, select kind of textile to be ironed against pointer
• Smart Feedback Indicator glows indicating the Iron is switched ON.
• Smart Feedback indicator turns OFF when the required temperature is reached.
• The Iron is ready for use. Iron the clothes
• Switch OFF the Iron after use.
• Disconnect the Iron from the mains supply outlet when it is not in use.
• When the Iron gets cooled completely, store it vertically in safe place as guided in next “Storage” section.
• Put the Iron on its heel.
• Remove the main plug from the wall socket & let the Iron cool down for atleast 30 minutes.
• Wind the mains cord around the heel’s cord storage facility (as shown to the right)
• Secure the cord winder clip
• Store the Iron on its heel in a safe & dry place

• Disconnect the Iron from the mains supply outlet.
• Use a damped cloth or non-scratching cleaner to remove any deposits on the soleplate.
• Never use sharp & rough objects to remove the deposits on the soleplate
• Never use any abrasive, vinegar or descaling agents to clean the Iron.
• Do not dispose-off the appliance with the normal household waste, rather hand it over at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the
environment.
• This section summarizes the most common problems you may encounter with the appliance. If you are unable to solve the problem with the information below, please contact
the Consumer Care Centre.
The iron is plugged in but the soleplate is cold 1. There is connection Problem
