TheGlobal PositioningSystem
The GlobalPositioning System(GPS)isasatellitebased systemthat provides
location and timing information around the globe.GPS isoperated andcontrolled
underthe soleresponsibilityofthe Government of the United Statesof America,
who areresponsibleforitsavailabilityand accuracy. AnychangesinGPS
availabilityand accuracy, orinenvironmentalconditions, mayimpact the
operation ofyou Binatone CarreraPersonalNavigation Device(PND).
UsingYourPND intheCar
When usingyourPND whiledriving itisessentialthat you drivewithdue care
and attention.Nevermodifythe settingsorprogramyourPND whiledriving. Only
lookathe PND map when it issafetodo so.When mountingthe PND inyourcar
makesurethatit doesnot obscureyourvieworimpede the operation of any
drivingcontrols.
ProhibitedAreas
Donot operateyourPND inhospitalsornearanyelectricalmedicalequipment.
Donot operateyourPND inaircraft.
Donot operatewhilesatinapetrolstationforecourt.
Battery
YourPND usesaLi-ion battery. Donot useitinhumid, wet orcorrosive
environments. Donot operateorstoreyourPND inhigh temperatures(>60℃)or
indirect sun light. Donot pierceorbreakthebatterycasing.
Failuretofollowthesecautionswillinvalidatethe warrantyand may
causethe batterytoleakacid, becomehot, explode origniteand
causeinjuryordamage.
If you comeintocontact withleakedbatteryacidwashthe contact
area thoroughlyandseekmedicalattention.
The Li-ion batterycontained inthisunit must be recycled ordisposed
of properly.

2. ChargeIndicator –Displays the batterychargingstatus. Red; charging,
Green; fullycharged.
3. On/Off Switch –Turnthe unit On/Off using thisswitch,ifthe unitisnot tobe
used forlong periodsof time.
4. Reset –Systemreset switch.
5. Speaker –Forvoiceguidanceinstructions.
6. External AntennaConnectionPort –Connect an externalantenna when
used invehicleswithaheat reflecting windscreen. (Externalantenna sold
separately).
7. StylusPen –Usetoinput dataorselectitems.
8. MemoryCardSlot –ForusewithSDtypecards. Donotremovememory
cardwhileinuse.
9. HeadphoneJack –Connectstoexternalheadphones.
10.PowerConnectionUSBPort –Forchargingand datatransfer.
11.TMCPort –TrafficMessage Channeldongleconnection point. (not
supportedinthismodel)
12.SleepmodeButton –Switchestheunit In/Out off sleepmode, handywhen

ChargingtheBattery
Beforeusing yourPND forthe first time,werecommend you tochargethe unit for5
hoursviathe USB cableor2hoursviathecarchargerinordertocharge thebattery.
Plug theUSB cableorthe carchargerintotheUSB socket .
The red charging indicatoron the frontof theunitwilllightup.Whenthe unitisfully
charged the red light willturngreen.
Whenyou usethe PND inyou car, werecommend that you always usethecar
chargerinordertomaintainthe batterylevel.
*The USB cableisprovided forfutureoperationsand itisnot foryoursystemto
operateat present.
IfyouhaveaSDmemoryCard, you mayinstallitrefertothepicture
(below)
Switchthe unit offfirst beforeinstalling orremovingthe SDcard.
Wheninstalling it canonlybefitted one way –the contactsshouldbe towardsyou
and the cut-offcornerat the top. Slidethe cardinand pushitinsothatit clicks into
place.
Oncethe cardisinstalledit doesnot need tobe removed.
If you needtoremovethe card, pushthe cardinand it willeject fromthe slot.
CarAdapter
Whenusing yourPND inthe carwerecommend that youalways usethe in-car
chargertopowertheunit, especiallyon long journeys.
Plug thein-carchargerintotheUSB socket ofthe unit. Pugthe otherend ofthe
adapterintothecar scigarette-lighter/ 12VDCsocket.

TurningtheSatNavUnitOn/Off
Toswitchtheunit Onslide the powerswitchlocated onthe back of theunit tothe On
position, theunit willpowerup and displaythewarning screen.
Toswitchtheunit Offslide the powerswitchtothe Off position.
TurningtheSatNavUnitOffVia SleepMode
Press and holddownthe sleep buttonon thetop of theunit, afterabout 3seconds
the unit willentersleepmode. Press and holdthe buttonagain, tobring theunit out
of sleep mode.Whenbrought out of sleep mode the unit willshowthe samescreen
aswhen the unit enteredsleep mode.
If the unitisnot tobe usedforalong periodoftimeitisadvisedthat you slide the
powerswitchon the back of the unit toOff.
SystemReset
Underextremecircumstancesit maybe necessarytorebootthe system. Reset the
systemif the following situation occurs:
•Long delayexperienced withscreenrefreshrateoroperation, resulting inan
inoperableunit.
•The systemwill not turnOff withthe powerbutton.
•Noresponsewithselectionmade on the screen.
The reset button canbe found onthe back of the unit. Insert the tipofthe styluspen
intothe reset switchinordertopress.The systemwill be immediatelyreset.

WindscreenHolderInstallation
The carmount hasasuction pad that fitstothewindscreenoraflat area on the
dashboard.
A. Fitting towindscreen
Pullthe leverawayfromthe suction pad. Placethe padon thewidescreen andpush
the levertowardsthe paduntilit clicks intoplace.
B. Fitting the holding bracket
It isbest tofitthistothe unitbeforeitisattached tothewindscreen.
Slide thebracket ontothe securing lugon the end of theballmount at the end of the
carmount and then pushdownfirmly, untilit clicks intoplace.The bracket can only
be fitted one way.
C. Fitting theUnit
Slide theunitintothe bottomof the bracket andcarefullypushtheunit upand back
untilitclicks intoplaceat thetop.
Toremovethe unit fromthe carmount; Press and lift the tab atthe topof thebracket
then pulltheunit forwardand up outof the bottomof the bracket.
Toremovethe Carmount fromthe windscreen; Lift the leverawayfromthe
windscreen, then gentlepullthe tabon thesuctioncup toreleasethe suction asyou
pullthe mount awayfromthe windscreen.
