SLOW CUB 1100 V3 BUILD
INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for buying the ‘SLOW CUB 1100’.
This manual will show you how to build and fly this plane, but before you start you will need a few
simple tools.

Hot Glue Gun (with enough output) and industrial hot glue (both available in the Tools section of our
website)
Z bender for control rods
Scissors for cutting hinge material
Iron to re-melt hot glue and remove hot glue stings
Step 1
Warm up the hot glue gun
Step 2

Mount motor to motor mount, put wires trough hole under motor and connect esc. Check motor
direction before continuing.
Step 3
Glue fuselage inner parts together.
Step 4

Glue fuselage side panels together (2x).
Step 5
Glue one side panel to the fuselage centre part.
Step 6
Place motor mount with motor, esc in the fuselage and glue in place.
Step 7

Glue last side panel in place.Step 8
Glue wheel shaft holder with carbon wheel shaft under the fuselage door so that the shaft is directly
under the front door frame.
Step 9
After reinforcing the hinge with glass fibre hinge material (just iron this on) glue the horizontal and
vertical stabilizer together under a 90 degree angle and at last glue them both to the fuselage so that
the trailing edge is under 90 degree with the fuselage.
Step 10

Glue control horns and control rod guides in place.
Step 11
Glue 2x 9 gram servos in the fuselage (rectangular holes in side panels).
Step 12
Glue wing tips to the wing.
Step 13

Glue wing in middle of fuselage under 90 degree to the fuselage or alternatively use nylon screws to
create a detachable wing.
Step 14
Connect the servos to a servo tester so that they are in the middle position and connect the control
horns so that they are vertical.
Step 15
Stick the supplied control rod trough the control rod guide on the side of the fuselage and stick the Z
bend trough the control horn on the tail. Use a marker to mark the control rod exactly at the servo
arm (hold elevator/ rudder in one line with vertical stabilizer/ horizontal stabilizer). Make a Z bend on
the mark and stick this trough the servo arm.
Step 16
Install receiver and program your radio.
Step 17
Install wheels with supplied shaft collars and install prop with rubber band.
Check before flight
Always do a range check with all new models
Stay away from airfields and highways
Stay away from crowded places
Stay away from building, animals, farms etc.
Stay away from powerlines
Make sure that all control surfaces move in the right direction and are mixed in the right way

Always start and land in the wind
Ask a more experienced pilot to fly and trim the plane for you
Close the throttle just before landing
Keep the plane within visual line of sight
Keep the plane under the maximum altitude level
Batteries are charged in both TX and RX
Flying
switch your TX on and check if the throttle is closed and the right model is selected
put the fully charged lipo battery in the fuselage
switch your RX/plane on
Check if all control surfaces move in the right direction
Hold the plane on the fuselage
Warn others that you want to start
Hold the nose in the wind
Throttle at 65%
Throw plane horizontal into the wind
Try to gently climb to a safe altitude and then reduce throttle to +-50%
After a few minutes (depending on battery capacity) lower the throttle to +-35%, so the
plane comes down in a gentle slope.
Warn others that you want to land the plane
Hold the nose of the plane in the wind and just before landing close the throttle and give
elevator up input to flare the plane out.
Maintenance
After each flight check the plane on both mechanical and electrical damage
Store or charge the lipo battery
Always check the prop and motor. Loose bolds, dirt etc can hurt others if parts fly off
EPP is easy to repair and glue with hot glue
