How to assemble the
H-FRAME EASEL
#51597-1001
rvsd 2/10
Step Three:
Position Base Legs to secure
the Base Supports by inserting a
23/4" Bolt (e) through hole on the
side of the Base Leg. Position a
Barrel Nut (d) into the hole
on the bottom side of the
Base Support to receive the
bolt, and tighten using the Allen
Wrench (b). Repeat on other
three Base corners.
Note: It is helpful to have a screw
driver to hold the Barrel Nuts in
place while tightening the bolts.
Step Four:
Attach Metal Bracket (a) to base using three 7/8" Screws (f). Repeat on other side.
Set aside.
Step Five:
Tap Wooden Dowels (k) into Easel Frames (A & B).
Step One:
Tap Wooden Dowels (c)
into Base Legs (J & K).
Note: For permanent
stability apply wood glue
to the wooden dowels
throughout the easel
building process.
Step Two:
Fit Front Base Support (D) and
Back Base Support (I) onto Wooden
Dowels now in the Base Legs.
Note: holes on Base Supports
should be facing the oor and the
nished corners of the Base Legs
with three small pre-drilled holes
should be facing up.
Pg 2
Step Seven:
Turn frame over and secure the supports by inserting a 2" Bolt (j) through hole
on the side of the Frame. Position a Barrel Nut (i) into the hole on the top side of the
Frame Support to receive the bolt, and tighten using the Allen Wrench (b). Repeat on
other five Support ends.
Note: It is helpful to have a screw driver to hold
the Barrel Nuts in place while tightening the bolts.
Step Six:
Fit Frame Supports (G, L & M) onto Wooden Dowels now in the Easel
Frame. Note: Top Frame Support (G) goes on the opposite end of the
pre-drilled holes used to attach the frame to the base.
Pre-drilled holes to connect frame to base
Step Eight:
Using 2 - 15/8" Bolts (n), 2 Washers (m),
and 2 Black Knobs (l), secure the Easel Frame
to the Metal Brackets attached to the Base.
Washers will t between the inside Easel Frame
and Metal Bracket as shown below.
Tap the face of each bolt into the
wood to assure a tight t.
Note: The position of the Frame & Supports
must match picture shown to proceed.
Pg 3
Step Nine:
Tap Wooden Dowels (p) into Back Base Support (I)
and Top Frame Support (G).
Step Ten:
Insert the slotted Back Support Leg (F) onto the Wooden Dowels in the
Top Frame Support and secure with 4" Bolt (r) and a Barrel Nut (q).
Tighten using the
Allen Wrench (b).
Hole for Barrel Nut
faces away from the
easel. (Not visible.)
Pg 4
Step Eleven:
Repeat process with second Back Support Leg (E). The barrel nut
hole should face up, assembling so that the two Back Leg Supports
meet. Secure with 4" Bolt (r) and a Barrel Nut (q). Tighten using
the Allen Wrench (b).
Step Twelve:
Insert 23/8" Bolt (y) through one of the holes in the bottom Back
Support Leg and the slotted area of the top Back Support Leg, put
the Slide Guide (x) over the bolt and into the slotted area. Secure
with 17/8" Black knob (w). Adjustments made here will change
angle of the easel. Repeat with second knob and bolt.
Black
slide.
Step Thirteen:
Attach the Mast (C) to the Frame
Supports using the three 21/8" Bolts (o).
The Mast has pre-drilled holes spaced
about 20" apart. The hole closest to the
end should be nearest the oor. Choose the
height you would like the Mast positioned,
place the three Bolts through the front of
the Mast and Frame Supports, then
attach the Washers (m) and Black
Knobs (l) on the back side. The recessed
holes should face forward.
Pg 5
Step Fourteen:
To attach the Bottom Canvas Tray (N) to the Mast,
you will need one Large Knob (t), one Washer (v),
one Spring (u), and one Metal Wedge (s).
Put Washer on Knob and t thru hole on front of
Canvas Tray. On the back place the Spring, then the
Metal Wedge. Screw on the Knob until the Wedge
is tight enough against the Mast to support the
Canvas Holder.
Step Fifteen:
Follow the same steps in Step Fourteen
to attach the Top Canvas Holder (H).
Step Sixteen:
Place the easel on its side to insert
the Casters (g & h). Locking Casters go on the
front of the easel and the Non-Locking Casters
go on the back. Casters will snap into place with
enough pressure.
Stand upright!
