FortheBoltekLD-250 Lightning Detector
Description
The RLO-10 isan optionalrelayoutput moduleforthe BoltekLD-250 Lightning Detector.The RLO-10
providesameansforconnecting customersupplied equipmenttothe LD-250’sCloseStormAlarm,
SevereStormAlarm,and Strikeindicator. Eachof the three relayoutputsisanormallyopen solid-state
contact whichcloseswheneverthe respectivealarmisactivated, asindicated bythe LD-250’sfrontpanel
LED’s. The RLO-10 usessolid-staterelayscapableofswitching up to50VDC or35VACat upto1.5
Amps.
Installation
Removethe top coverof the LD-250 by
removing the fourcoverscrews. Locatethe
relayconnectoratthe frontof the unit nearthe
red alarmindicators.

Locatepin1ofthe relayconnector.Pin1is
towardsthe rearofthe LD-250. The female
ribbon cableconnectorhas14 holes(2x7)
whilethe LD-250 onlyhas12 pins(2x6).Itis
importantthatpin1isinserted intothe
connectorholesclosest tothe ribbon cable’sred
stripe and thatthe unused ribbon cableholes
aretowardsthe front of theLD-250.
Plug theribbon cableintothe relayconnectoras
shown. The relayconnectorpin1must plug into
the ribbon cableconnectorholesclosest tothe
red stripe.The twounused ribbon cable
connectorholesmust be towardsthe frontofthe
LD-250.
Foldthe ribbon cabletowardsthe rearofthe LD-
250 asshown. Ensurethat the red stripe isas
showninthe photo.

The otherribbon cableconnectoratthe rearof
the LD-250 shouldbe facing upwardsasshown.
Replacethe LD-250 top coverand secureitby
replacing the fourcoverscrews.
Peelthepaperbacking fromthe double-sided
tape on the bottomof the RLO-10 relayunit.
Stick the relayunit tothe top coverof the LD-
250 asshown. Plug the ribbon cableconnector
intothe ribbon cableconnectoron the RLO-10
asshown.
