電気製品はまちがった使いかたをすると、火災や感電などによ
り死亡や大けがなど人身事故につながることがあり、危険です。
事故を防ぐために次のことを必ずお守りください。

定期点検を実施する
長期間安全に使用していただくために、定期点検を実施するこ
とをおすすめします。点検の内容や費用については、ソニーの
サービス担当者または営業担当者にご相談ください。
故障したら使用を中止する

内部に水や異物を入れない
水や異物が入ると火災や感電の原因となります。
万一、水や異物が入ったときは、すぐに電源を切
り、電源コードや接続コードを抜いて、ソニーの
サービス担当者または営業担当者にご相談くださ
い。
機器を固定する
地震などにより機器が転倒・落下すると、大けが
の原因となります。
サービスマニュアルに従って機器をラックに固定
してください。
•ラックは転倒・移動防止の処理をする
•ラックを床に固定する
指定の電源コードを使用する
指定以外の電源コードを使用すると、火災や感電
の原因となります。
他の電源コードを使用する場合は、ソニーのサー
ビス担当者または営業担当者にご相談ください。
ケーブルを傷つけたまま使用しない
ケーブルを傷つけたまま使用すると、火災や感電
の原因となります。
電源コード、接続コードを傷つけない
コードを傷つけると、火災や感電の原因となりま
す。
•コードを壁などの間に、はさみ込んだりしない。
•コードを加工したり、傷つけたりしない。
•重いものをのせたり、引っ張ったりしない。
•熱器具に近付けたり、加熱したりしない。
•コードを抜くときは、必ずプラグを持って抜く。
•ラックマウントするとき、レールにはさみ込ま
ない。
万一、コードが傷んだら、ソニーのサービス担当
者に交換をご依頼ください。
電源コードのプラグおよびコネクター
は突き当たるまで差し込む
まっすぐに突き当たるまで差し込まないと、火災
や感電の原因となります。
密閉環境には設置しない
空調管理されていない密閉環境に設置すると、内
部に熱がこもり、火災の原因となることがありま
す。
正しいインターフェースで接続する
外部機器を接続する場合、接続時のインター
フェースが正しくないと火災や感電の原因となり
ます。
油煙、湯気、湿気、ほこりの多い場所
では設置・使用しない
上記のような場所に設置すると、火災や感電の原
因となります。
お手入れの際は、電源を切る
電源を接続したままお手入れをすると、感電の原
因となることがあります。
移動の際は電源を切る
本機を移動するときは、電源を切ってください。
感電や故障の原因となることがあります。
ラックマウントした機器を、 2 台以上
同時に引き出さない
2 台以上同時に引き出すと、機器の重みでラック
が転倒し、けがの原因となります。一度にラック
から引き出すのは 1 台だけにしてください。
また、ラックが転倒・移動しないように適切な処
置をとってください。

保守点検清掃は専門業者に依頼する
保守点検清掃は専門知識を持った関係者以外は作
業をしないでください。
火災、感電の原因となります。
設置は確実に
設置については、必ずお買い上げ店にご相談くだ
さい。設置は、本機と取り付け金具を含む重量に
充分耐えられる強度があることをお確かめくださ
い。充分な強度がないと、落下して、大けがの原
因となります。
また、一年に一度は、取り付けがゆるんでいない
かを点検してください。
機器や部品の取り付けは正しく行う
別売りの機器や部品の取り付け方法を誤ると、機
器が落下してけがをすることがあります。機器や
部品を取り付けるときは、マニュアルをよく読ん
だうえ、確実に取り付けてください。
不安定な場所に設置しない
次のような場所に設置すると、倒れたり落ちたり
して、けがの原因となることがあります。
•ぐらついた台の上
•傾いたところ
•振動や衝撃のかかるところ
また、設置・取り付け場所の強度を充分にお確か
めください。
指定の接続ケーブルを使用する
指定どおりのものを使用しないと、火災や感電の
原因となります。
2 人以上でラックマウント・運搬する
本機は重量があり、かつ左右のバランスが悪いの
で、けがや事故を防ぐため、ラックマウントや運
搬は必ず 2人以上で行ってください。
高温下では使用しない
高温の場所で本機を使用すると、火災、発火、発
煙の原因となることがあります。周囲温度が 40 ℃
を超える場所や、直射日光のあたる場所では使用
しないでください。

下記の注意事項を守らないと、けがをしたり周辺の物品に
損害を与えたりすることがあります。
安全アースを接続する
安全アースを接続しないと、感電の原因となるこ
とがあります。次の方法でアースを接続してくだ
さい。
•電源コンセントが 3極の場合
指定の電源コードを使用することで安全アース
が接続されます。
•電源コンセントが 2極の場合
指定の 3極t2 極変換プラグを使用し、変換プ
ラグから出ているアース線を建物に備えられて
いるアース端子に接続してください。
•安全アースを取り付けることができない場合は、
ソニーのサービス担当者にご連絡ください。
使用中、通風孔をふさがない
通風孔をふさぐと内部に熱がこもり、火災の原因
となることがあります。
•逆さまや横倒しにしない。
•風通しの悪い、狭いところに押し込まない。
•毛足の長いじゅうたんや布団の上に置かない。
•布をかけない。
4 台以上積み上げない
ラックを使用せずに 4台以上積み上げると、製品
が落下してけがの原因となることがあります。
ラックマウントの際は指定されたラッ
クマウントレールを使用する
指定以外のラックマウントレールを使用すると、
レールの強度不足により、機器が落下してけがの
原因となることがあります。
指定以外の機器を接続しない
本マニュアルに記載している以外の機器を接続す
ると、火災や感電の原因となります。
積載時は脚をつける
脚を使用せずに積み重ねると、崩れてけがや故障
の原因になります。
ラックマウントレールに手や指をはさ
まない
ラックマウントした機器を収納するときおよび引
き出すとき、ラックマウントレールに手や指をは
さみ、けがの原因となることがあります。
ラックの上部に設置しない
本機は重量があります。ラックの上部に設置する
と、ラックが転倒してけがの原因となることがあ
ります。ラックの下からの高さがおよそ 1m以内
の位置に設置してください。
安定した姿勢でラックマウントする
本機をラックマウントするとき、および取り外す
とき、バランスを崩すと機器が落下してけがの原
因となることがあります。
安定した姿勢で注意深く作業してください。
コード類は正しく配置する
電源コードや接続ケーブルは、足に引っかけると
本機の落下や転倒などによりけがの原因となるこ
とがあります。
充分注意して接続・配置してください。
製品の上に乗らない、重いものを乗せ
ない
倒れたり、落ちたり、壊れたりして、けがの原因
となることがあります。
ぬれた手で電源プラグをさわらない
ぬれた手で電源プラグを抜き差しすると、感電の
原因となることがあります。
分解しない、改造しない
分解したり、改造したりすると、感電の原因とな
ります。
内部の調整や設定および点検を行う必要がある場
合は、必ずサービストレーニングを受けた技術者
にご依頼ください。

本機をラックに設置するときのご注意
1.
分岐回路の過負荷を防止する
本機をラックに設置し、ラックのコンセントから電源を供給す
る場合は、ラックの電源回路が過負荷にならないようにしてく
ださい。
2.
安全アースを接続する
本機をラックに設置し、ラックのコンセントから電源を供給す
る場合は、適切にアースを接続してください。
3.
ラック内部の周囲温度に注意する
本機をラックに設置するときは、ラック内部の周囲温度が本機
で指定されている上限温度を超えないようにしてください。
4.
危険防止のため、荷重が片寄らないようにする
本機をラックに設置するときは、荷重が片寄らないように注意
し、ラックが危険な状態にならないようにしてください。
5.
本機の動作温度を考慮して設置する
本機の動作温度については、オペレーションマニュアルの仕様
の項を参照してください。
6.
設置時には、通気性を考慮し、ラックと本機の間に以下の
空間を確保してください。

使用上のご注意 / 概要 / 各部の名称と働き 7
使用上のご注意
次のような場所での使用および保管は避けてください。
•極端に暑い所や寒い所（使用温度は 5 ℃〜 40 ℃）
•直射日光の当たる場所、熱器具の近く
•強い磁気を発するものの近く
•強力な電波を発するテレビやラジオの送信所の近く
•強い振動や衝撃のある場所
本機を寒いところから急に暖かいところに持ち込んだときなど、
機器表面や内部に水滴がつくことがあります。これを結露とい
います。結露が起きたときは電源を切り、結露がなくなるまで
放置し、結露がなくなってからご使用ください。結露時のご使
用は機器の故障の原因となる場合があります。
ファンは有寿命部品として定期的な交換が必要です。
常温でのご使用の場合、5年を目安に交換してください。ただ
し、交換時期は目安であり、部品の寿命を保証するものではあ
りません。交換の際はお買い上げ店 にご相談ください。
電解コンデンサの寿命は約5年です。
使用環境により、寿命は変化します。
通信を行う機器でセキュリティ対策を行わなかった結果、また
は、通信仕様上の、やむを得ない事情により、データ漏洩等、
セキュリティ上の問題が発生した場合、弊社ではそれによって
生じたあらゆる損害に対する責任を負いかねます。
使用環境によってはネットワーク上の意図せぬ第三者から製品
にアクセスされる可能性があります。本機をネットワークに接
続する際には、セキュアなネットワークであることをご確認の
上ご使用ください。
設定作業中または設定作業後のブラウザで他のサイトを閲覧し
ないでください。ブラウザにログインした状態が残りますので、
意図しない第三者の使用や悪意のあるプログラムの実行を防ぐ
ために、設定作業が完了したら必ずブラウザを終了してくださ
い。
本機に無線機などを近づけると、ノイズを抑えるために消音す
ることがあります。
本機を移動する際は、振動および衝撃から保護するため付属の
梱包材をお使いください。
概要
コントロールユニットRYZ-CU164はSonic Surf VR用の機器で
す。Playerマシンやマルチチャンネルアクティブスピーカー
RYZ-AS108と組み合わせて使用することで音が動き回るような
演出や位置によって異なる音が聞こえるようなサービスを実現
できます。
各部の名称と働き
注意
安全のために、周辺機器を接続する際は、過大電圧を持つ可能
性があるコネクターを以下のポートに接続しないでください。
接続については、インストレーションマニュアルの指示に従っ
てください。

フロントパネルを固定しているネジです。DIPスイッチを操作す
る際などフロントパネルを取り外したいときに使用します。

コントロールユニットの電源を入／切します。
設置は確実に

ださい。設置は、本機と取り付け金具を含む重
量に充分耐えられる強度があることをお確かめ

取り付けネジは付属のネジをご使用ください。付属品以外の
ネジを使用した場合、本体内部を破損する恐れがあります。

cDIP スイッチ
設定モードへの切り換えやMADI入力の選択、IPアドレスの設定
を行います。
DIPスイッチはフロントパネルを外した内側にあります。操作す
る際は、フロントパネルのネジ4か所を外してください。
◆DIP スイッチの操作方法について詳しくは、インストレーションマ
ニュアルをご覧ください。
dPOWER ランプ
コントロールユニットの電源が入っていると緑色で点灯します。
eALERT ランプ
コントロールユニット、または接続しているマルチチャンネル
アクティブスピーカー RYZ-AS108に異常があるときに赤く点滅
します。
◆ ランプが点滅した際の対応方法は、インストレーションマニュアル
をご覧ください。
f脚
ラックに入れず床面などに配置するときに使用します。ラック
に取り付ける際には外してください。
gPC UI 端子（RJ-45）
Player PC（シングルプレーヤーシステム時）またはMaster
Player PC（マルチプレイヤーシステム時）が接続されている
ネットワークに接続します。コントロールユニットのステータ
スが出力されます。
また、設定モード時は、設定用のPCと直接接続することで、コ
ントロールユニットの設定を行えます。
hWORD SYNC OUT 端子（BNC）
コントロールユニット内で使用しているWORD SYNCと同期し
た信号が出力されます。
iWORD SYNC IN 端子（BNC）
ワードクロックジェネレーターからのWORD SYNC信号を入力
します。
j75 Ωスイッチ／ランプ
WORD SYNC IN端子の終端方法を設定します。75 Ω終端が行わ
れているとランプが点灯します。
ON：75 Ωに設定されます。
OFF：ハイインピーダンスに設定されます。
ONの状態でWORD SYNC IN端子に信号入力がないときは、コ
ントロールユニット内で生成した48 kHzのWORD SYNC信号が
出力されます。
kMADI 1 OUT/IN 端子（BNC）
IN端子ではPlayer PCからのMADI信号を75 Ω同軸ケーブルを使
用して入力します。
OUT端子では、MADI 1 INまたはMADI 2 INから入力された
MADI信号が出力されます。どちらの端子からの信号を出力する
かはDIPスイッチで選択します。
lMADI 2 OUT/IN 端子（SC）
IN端子ではPlayer PCからのMADI信号をSC端子付き光ファイ
バーケーブルを使用して入力します。
OUT端子では、MADI 1 INまたはMADI 2 INから入力された
MADI信号が出力されます。どちらの端子からの信号を出力する
かはDIPスイッチで選択します。
mSPEAKERS 1 〜8端子（RJ-45）
マルチチャンネルアクティブスピーカー RYZ-AS108と接続し、
音声信号と電力を出力します。
n電源端子
AC電源を接続します。

Attention-when the product is installed in Rack:
1. Prevention against overloading of branch circuit
When this product is installed in a rack and is supplied
power from an outlet on the rack, please make sure that
the rack does not overload the supply circuit.
2. Providing protective earth
When this product is installed in a rack and is supplied
power from an outlet on the rack, please confirm that
the outlet is provided with a suitable protective earth
connection.
3. Internal air ambient temperature of the rack
When this product is installed in a rack, please make sure
that the internal air ambient temperature of the rack is
within the specified limit of this product.

due to uneven mechanical loading
When this product is installed in a rack, please make sure

5. Install the equipment while taking the operating

Usage Precautions
Avoid using and storing in the following locations.
• Extremely hot or cold places (operating temperature range
is 5 °C to 40 °C (41 °F to 104 °F))
• Places exposed to direct sunlight or near heating appliances
• Near places exposed to strong magnetism
• Near television and radio broadcast stations that emit strong
radio waves
• Places exposed to strong vibration and impact
If the unit is suddenly taken from a cold to a warm location, or
if ambient temperature suddenly rises, moisture may form on
the outer surface of the unit and/or inside of the unit. This is
known as condensation. If condensation occurs, turn off the
unit and wait until the condensation clears before operating
the unit. Operating the unit while condensation is present may
damage the unit.
The fan is a consumable part that will need periodic
replacement.
When operating at room temperature, a normal replacement
cycle will be about 5 years.
However, this replacement cycle represents only a general
guideline and does not imply that the life expectancy of this
part is guaranteed. For details on parts replacement, contact
your dealer.
The life expectancy of the electrolytic capacitor is about
5 years under normal operating temperatures and normal
usage.
The life expectancy changes depending on the usage
environment.

Depending on the operating environment, unauthorized third
parties on the network may be able to access the unit. When
connecting the unit to the network, be sure to confirm that the
network is protected securely.
Do not browse any other website in the Web browser while
making settings or after making settings. Since the login status
remains in the Web browser, close the Web browser when you
complete the settings to prevent unauthorized third parties
from using the unit or harmful programs from running.
Placing a wireless device or similar device close to the unit
may cause muting of the audio in order to suppress noise.
When moving the unit, use the supplied packaging to protect
against vibration and shock.

Overview
The RYZ-CU164 Control Unit is a device used for Sonic Surf
VR. It enables a service whereby sound is directed to move
around so that a different sound is audible, depending on the
location, using a combination of a Player machine and
RYZ-AS108 Multi-Channel Active Speaker.

These screws are used to attach the front panel. Remove
these screws to remove the front panel to access the DIP
switches.
bPower switch
Use to turn the control unit on/off.
cDIP switches
Use to switch to setup mode, select MADI inputs, and set the
IP address.
The DIP switches are located behind the front panel. Remove
the four front panel mounting screws to access the DIP
switches.

installation manual.
dPOWER lamp
Lights up green when the control unit is turned on.
eALERT lamp
Flashes red when an error occurs in the control unit or with a
connected RYZ-AS108 Multi-Channel Active Speaker.
For details about troubleshooting when the lamp is flashing,
refer to the installation manual.
fFeet
Use when not mounting in a rack, for example, on a shelf.
Remove the feet if mounting the unit in a rack.
gPC UI connector (RJ-45)
Connect to network on which the Player PC (single player
system) or Master Player PC (multi player system) is
connected. It outputs the status of the control unit.
In setup mode, use to configure the control unit by connecting
directly to the setup PC.
hWORD SYNC OUT connector (BNC)
Outputs a signal synchronized to the WORD SYNC signal
used within the control unit.
iWORD SYNC IN connector (BNC)
Input a WORD SYNC signal from a word clock generator.
j75 Ωswitch / lamp
Set the type of termination for the WORD SYNC IN connector.
The lamp lights up when the 75 Ωtermination is active.
ON: Sets to 75 Ω.
OFF: Sets to high impedance.
When set to ON and there is no signal input on the WORD
SYNC IN connector, a 48 kHz WORD SYNC signal generated
within the control unit is output.
kMADI 1 OUT/IN connectors (BNC)
Connect a MADI signal from the Player PC to the IN connector
using a 75 Ωcoaxial cable.
The OUT connector outputs the MADI signal that is input on
the MADI 1 IN or MADI 2 IN connector. Select which signal on
the input connectors to output using the DIP switches.
Installing
For details about installation, contact your dealer. Make
sure that the installation has sufficient strength to withstand
the weight of the unit and mounting hardware. If the
mounting is not sufficiently stable, the unit may fall and
cause an injury.
Check the installation at least once a year to ensure the unit
does not become loose.
Use the mounting screws supplied with the unit. Using
screws other than those supplied may damage the inside of
the unit.

using an optical fiber cable with SC connector.
The OUT connector outputs the MADI signal that is input on
