components, and refrigerant. If you are not qualified to work

The coil replacement procedure must not be undertaken
without first removing all existing refrigerant from the
product.

CAUTION: PERSONAL INJURY, PRODUCT DAMAGE
This procedure requires two people and the use of a Coil
Replacement Support Bar (part# 8733957022, available
from Bosch at no charge) in order to be carried out safely.
Please do NOT attempt this procedure alone or without
obtaining the support bar and having it ready to use.
Evaporator Coil Replacement Procedure
1. Ensure that the unit is powered off and isolated from the electrical supply.
2. Reclaim all refrigerant (refer to installation manual for correct procedure).
3. Remove the 24 screws than run around the middle of all four sides of the
unit (Fig.1).

4. Remove the side panels (Fig.2).

5. Heat and separate the brazed joints of the coil’s inlet and outlet connections
(Fig.3).

6. Remove 5 screws (Fig.4).

7. Remove 3 screws (Fig.5).

The following step REQUIRES two people in order to be carried out
safely, and will provide the clearance needed to physically remove the
existing coil.
8. Insert the coil replacemnent support bar in the following order.
a. 1st person - Lift the top section of the unit.
b. 2nd person - Insert temporary “coil replacement support bar” (Fig.6)
that will hold up the top section of the unit.
c. 1st person - Carefully lower the top section down onto the support bar.

9. Carefully remove the existing evaporator coil (Fig.7).

10. Remove the metal bracket from the existing evaporator coil (Fig. 8), and
install it on the new evaporator coil in the same location and orientation.

11. Pass a cable tie through the copper U-ends as close to the metal bracket
as possible, and gently tighten to bring the four rows of the evaporator
together securely (Fig.9).

12. Install the new evaporator coil into the unit, and secure the 5 screws in the
order shown in Fig.10. Remove the temporary support rod.

13. Using the correct procedure with nitrogen, braze the coil’s inlet and outlet
connections (Fig.11).

14. Evacuate and recharge the unit (refer to the installation manual for correct
specifications and procedure), reinstall all panels and screws, turn
the power back on to the unit and conduct a test run to ensure correct
operation.
