Battery handling and usage
BATTERY WARNING: Only adults should handle the batteries. Do not allow a child to use this product unless the
Battery Compartment Cover is securely attached to the Battery Compartment in accordance with all product usage
instructions.
Follow the battery manufacturer’s safety and usage instructions.
Keep the batteries away from children and pets.
Insert the batteries observing the polarity marking inside the battery compartment. Failure to properly align the battery
polarity can cause damage. The battery compartments are located on the bottom of the product.
If electrolyte from the batteries gets onto your hands or into your eyes, wash with running tap water and seek medical
advice.
To prevent the risk of electrolyte leakage or explosions, never recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as this constitutes an explosion hazard.
To protect the environment, use local recycling facilities for battery disposal.
The battery type used in this product is eight C size batteries. These batteries are located internally and are readily
accessible.
Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the product to remove the batteries.
These batteries must be disposed of at your local recycling point.
Risk of damage if batteries are incorrectly replac
This appliance is intended for domestic household use only and should not be used for any other purpose or in any
other application, such as for non domestic use or in a commercial environment.
The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers,
table-cloths, curtains, etc.
No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases,

Notes on Discs
Handling Discs
Do not touch the play side of the disc. Hold the disc by the edges so that fingerprints do not get on the surface. Never
stick paper or tape on the disc.
Storing Discs
After playing, store the disc in its case. Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or source of heat and never leave it in a
parked car exposed to direct sunlight.
Cleaning Discs
Fingerprints and dust on the disc can cause poor picture quality and sound distortion. Before playing, clean the disc
with a clean cloth. Wipe the disc from the centre out.
Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static spray
intended for older vinyl records.

USING BATTERIES (not supplied)
The unit can be powered by the batteries alone.
1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert eight C size batteries with the + and – marks correctly aligned.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

1. Connect the supplied power cord to the AC INPUT socket on the unit and to the wall socket.

PLAYING A DISC
You can play commercially available audio CDs:
CD-Recordable (CD-R)
CD-Rewritable (CD-RW)
MP3 -CD
1. Set the power switchto the ON position.
2. Set the FUNCTION selector to the AUX/USB/CD mode.
3. Press on the top of the unit to open the CD compartment.
4. Place a CD with the printed side facing up.
5. Press again to close the CD compartment.
The player scans the CD and the total number of tracks shows on the display.
PLAYING MUSIC FILES FROM USB
1. Insert a USB memory into the USB port .
2. Set the FUNCTION selector to the AUX/USB/CD mode.
The player scans the USB device and the total number of tracks shows on the display.
3. In CD mode, press and hold / CD / USB to switch from CD to USB mode.
GENERAL OPRATION
1. Press / CD / USB. Play starts from the first track.
2. Adjust the desired volume by turning VOLUME control.
3. To pause, press / CD / USB. To resume, press it again.
4. To stop, press .
5. For mp3 files with folders,
- Press to skip forward by 10 tracks.
- Press and hold to show the current folder, the current folder name will flash on the display, and
then press repeatedly to select the desired folder.

SELECTING A TRACK
During play, press / repeatedly until the desired track number appears in the display.
SEARCHING FOR A PASSAGE WITHIN A TRACK
1. During play, press and hold / .
yThe sound is muted whilst searching is in progress.
2. When you reach the passage you want, release the button and play continues.
NOTE: When search reaches the end of the last track, the CD stops.
SELECTING PLAY MODES
Repeat play
You can repeat a track, an MP3 album, a disc or a program.
yREPEAT: Repeat a track.
yREPEAT ALBUM: Repeat an album.
yREPEAT ALL: Repeat an entire CD/program.
During play, press repeatedly to select the repeat mode you want.
To stop repeat play, press repeatedly until the repeat icon is disappeared.
Shuffle play
You can play all tracks in random order.
During play, press repeatedly until the display shows "RANDOM".
To stop shuffle play, press the button again, the "RANDOM" icon is disappeared.
PROGRAM PLAY
You can programme up to 32 tracks to play in your desired order.
1. Press in stop mode.
y"P01" and "PROG" flashes on the display.
2. Press / to select the desired track.
3. Press to register the selected track.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 to program all the desired tracks.
5. Press / CD / USB to play programmed tracks.
6. In stop mode, press / repeatedly to browse stored tracks.
7. To cancel the program play, press twice. "PROG" disappears on the display.
LISTENING TO RADIO
1. Set the FUNCTION selector to the RADIO mode.
2. Set the BAND Selector to the desired waveband: FM or FM ST. (STEREO).
3. Turn the TUNING control to tune in a radio station.
yIf the BAND selector is set to FM ST. and you have tuned in to an FM stereo station, the FM ST. indicator
light will illuminate.
4. Turn the VOLUME control to set the desired listening level.
5. To turn off the radio function, move the FUNCTION selector to any other position.
NOTE: To improve FM reception, extend, incline or turn the telescopic aerial for best reception.

CASSETTE OPERATION
PLAYING A CASSETTE
1. Set the FUNCTION selector to the TAPE mode.
2. Press to open the cassette door.
3. Insert a recorded cassette and close the cassette door.
4. Press to start playback.
5. To interrupt playback, press . To resume playback, press again.
6. Press or to fast wind or rewind the tape.
7. To stop the tape, press .
yThe buttons are automatically released at the end of the tape except if PAUSE ( ) has been activated.
RECORDING
General information
yRecording is permissible in so far as copyright or other rights of third parties are not infringed.
yThis deck is not suitable for recording on CHROME (IEC II) or METAL (IEC IV) type cassettes. For recording, use
NORMAL type cassettes (IEC I) on which the tabs have not been broken.
yThe best recording level is set automatically. Altering the VOL and BASS controls will not affect the recording in
progress.
yAt the very beginning and end of the tape, no recording will take place during the 7 seconds, when the leader tape
passes the recorder heads.
yTo protect a tape from accidental erasure, have the tape in front of you and break out
the left tab. Recording on this side is no longer possible. To record over this side
again, cover the tabs with a piece of adhesive tape.
Recording from the radio
1. Tune in to the desired radio station (see ‘LISTENING TO RADIO’).
2. Press to open the cassette door.
3. Insert a suitable cassette into the cassette deck and close the cassette door.
4. Press to start recording.
5. To interrupt recording, press . To resume recording, press again.
6. To stop recording, press .
AUX IN
To play music from personal player,
1. Set the FUNCTION selector to the AUX/USB/CD mode.
2. Connect your audio player to AUX IN jack with a cable (not included).
3. Set the audio player to play. The sound from the player will be heard through the speakers of this unit.
4. Turn the VOLUME control of this unit as desired.

MAINTENANCE
CARE OF THE CABINET
If the cabinet becomes dusty, wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax, polish sprays, or abrasive cleaners
on the cabinet.
CAUTION: Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.
TAPE DECK MAINTENANCE
To ensure quality recording and playback of the tape deck, clean parts A, B and C as
shown, after approx. 50 hours of operation or on average once a month. Use a cotton
bud slightly moistened with alcohol or a special head cleaning fluid to clean the deck.
1. Open the cassette door by pressing .
2. Press and clean the rubber pressure roller C.
3. Press and clean the magnetic heads A and the capstan B.
4. After cleaning, press .
NOTE: Cleaning of the heads can also be done by playing a cleaning cassette through once.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you have any of the problems listed below please use this troubleshooting guide to try and solve them. A little time
spent in this way may save you to the inconvenience of returning your equipment.

PROCÉDURE GÉNÉRALE
1. Appuyez sur la touche / CD / USB. Vous entendez le premier titre du disque.
2. Ajustez le volume sonore à l'aide de la touche VOLUME.
3. Pour marquer une pause, appuyez sur la touche / CD / USB. Pour reprendre la lecture, réappuyez sur cette
même touche.
4. Pour arrêter la lecture, appuyez sur .
5. Pour une source comportant plusieurs dossiers mp3 :
- Appuyez sur la touche (DOSSIER) pour avancer de 10 titres.
- Appuyez sur la touche (DOSSIER) et maintenez-la enfoncée pour afficher le dossier
actuellement sélectionné. Le nom de ce dossier clignote sur l'écran. Appuyez sur la touche
(DOSSIER) pour sélectionner le dossier suivant.
SELECTION D'UN TITRE
Pendant la lecture, appuyez sur / , autant de fois que nécessaire pour afficher le numéro du titre que vous
voulez maintenant écouter.
RECHERCHE À L'INTÉRIEUR D'UN TITRE
1. Pendant la lecture, appuyez sur / et maintenez la touche enfoncée.
yLa sortie sur les haut-parleurs est désactivée pendant la recherche.
2. Dès que vous atteignez le passage que vous voulez écouter, relâchez la touche. La lecture reprend normalement.
REMARQUE : lorsque la tête de lecture atteint la fin du dernier titre, le CD s'arrête.
MODES DE LECTURE
Lecture répétée
Vous pouvez répéter la lecture d'un titre, d'un album MP3, d'un disque ou d'une liste d'écoute programmée.
yTouche REPEAT (Répéter) : répète le titre actuel.
yREPEAT ALBUM (Répéter album) : répète l'album actuel.
yREPEAT ALL (Répéter tout) : répète tout le disque ou toute la liste d'écoute programmée.
Pendant la lecture, appuyez sur , autant de fois que nécessaire pour sélectionner le mode de lecture que vous
désirez.
Pour revenir en mode de lecture normale, appuyez sur , autant de fois que nécessaire pour effacer l'icône de
répétition sur l'écran.
Lecture aléatoire
Vous pouvez demander la lecture des titres dans un ordre totalement aléatoire.
Pendant la lecture, appuyez sur autant de fois que nécessaire pour afficher "RANDOM (Aléatoire)" sur l'écran.
Pour revenir en mode de lecture normale, appuyez sur cette même touche. L'icône "RANDOM (Aléatoire)" disparaît.

LECTURE D'UNE LISTE D'ÉCOUTE PROGRAMMÉE
Vous pouvez programmer la lecture d'au plus 32 titres, dans l'ordre que vous désirez.
1. Appuyez sur la touche depuis le mode arrêt.
yLes indications "P01" et "PROG" clignotent sur l’écran.
2. Appuyez sur les touches et jusqu'à sélectionner un premier titre.
3. Appuyez sur la touche pour ajouter ce titre à la liste d'écoute que vous voulez programmer.
4. Recommencez les instructions 2 et 3 pour tous les autres titres que vous voulez écouter.
5. Appuyez sur la touche / CD / USB pour démarrer la lecture de la liste d'écoute.
6. Depuis le mode arrêt, appuyez sur / , autant de fois que nécessaire pour parcourir les titres de la liste.
7. Pour arrêter complètement cette lecture, appuyez deux fois sur la touche . L'indication "PROG" disparaît de
l'écran.
ÉCOUTE DE LA RADIO
1. Positionnez le sélecteur de FONCTION sur le mode RADIO.
2. Poussez le sélecteur BAND sur la bande de fréquences que vous désirez écouter : FM ou FM ST. (STEREO).
3. Touchez le bouton TUNING de recherche de station jusqu'à atteindre la fréquence que vous désirez.
ySi vous avez sélectionné la bande FM ST. et que la station que vous écoutez est diffusée en FM stéréo,
l'indicateur de ce mode s'allume sur votre appareil.
4. Ajustez le volume sonore à un niveau confortable à l'aide de la touche VOLUME.
5. Pour éteindre la radio, basculez le sélecteur de FONCTION sur un autre mode.
REMARQUE : pour améliorer la réception FM, déployez davantage, inclinez ou tournez l'antenne télescopique.

UTILISATION DU MODULE CASSETTE
LECTEUR DE CASSETTE
1. Basculez le sélecteur de FONCTION sur le mode TAPE (Casette).
2. Appuyez sur pour ouvrir le compartiment de cassette.
3. Insérez une cassette enregistrée et fermez la porte du compartiment de cassette.
4. Appuyez sur
pour démarrer la lecture.
5. Pour arrêter momentanément la lecture, appuyez sur .Pour reprendre la lecture, réappuyez sur .
6. Pour accélérer l'avance, appuyez sur la touche . Pour accélérer le rembobinage, appuyez sur la touche .
7. Appuyez sur pour arrêter la lecture.
yLes touches reviennent automatiquement à leur position d'arrêt en fin de cassette, sauf si vous avez appuyé
sur PAUSE ( ).
Enregistrement
INFORMATIONS GÉNÉRALES SUR L'ENREGISTREMENT
• L'enregistrement est autorisé tant qu'il n'enfreint aucun copyright et autres droits de parties tiers.
• Cet appareil ne convient pas pour enregistrer sur des cassettes CHROME (IEC II) et METAL (IEC IV). Pour enregistrer,
utilisez des cassettes NORMAL (IEC I) et vérifiez que les pattes de protection n'ont pas été cassées.
• Votre appareil optimise automatiquement le niveau d'enregistrement. Les boutons de volume (VOL) et d'amplification
des basses (DBB) ne modifient pas la qualité de l'enregistrement en cours.
• L'enregistrement ne commence qu'après le passage de toute la bande-amorce de début devant la tête de lecture
(7 secondes après le début de la cassette) et s'arrête lorsque la bande-amorce de fin passe devant la tête de lecture
(7 secondes avant la fin de la cassette).
• Pour éviter d'effacer malencontreusement tout ou une partie d'une cassette enregistrée, cassez la patte de protection
de gauche (lorsque vous regardez le dessus de la cassette). Vous ne pouvez plus enregistrer sur cette face de la
cassette, à moins de recouvrir l'emplacement de la patte de protection par un ruban adhésif.
Enregistrement de la radio
1. Réglez la fréquence sur lastation que vous voulez enregistrer (reportez-vous à la section RECHERCHE DE
STATION).
2. Appuyez sur pour ouvrir le compartiment de cassette.
3. Insérez une cassette et fermez la porte du compartiment.
4. Appuyez sur la touche pour démarrer l'enregistrement.
5. Pour marquer une pause, appuyez sur la touche . Réappuyez sur cette touche pour reprendre l'enregistrement.
6. Pour arrêter l'enregistrement, appuyez sur .

Entrée AUX
Pour écouter les titres stockés sur une source audio externe :
1. Basculez le sélecteur de FONCTION sur le mode AUX/USB/CD.
2. Branchez la source audio externe sur l'entrée AUX IN de votre appareil, à l'aide du câble approprié (non fourni).
3. Démarrez la lecture sur la source audio externe. Vous entendez le premier titre dans les haut-parleurs de votre
appareil.
4. Ajustez le VOLUME au niveau que vous désirez.
ENTRETIEN
Nettoyage de la surface extérieure
Pour enlever la poussière déposée sur l'extérieur de votre appareil, essuyez-le avec un chiffon anti-poussière doux.
N'utilisez ni cire, ni produit de nettoyage en aérosol, ni produit abrasif.
ATTENTION : évitez que de l'eau ou tout autre liquide n'entre à l'intérieur de votre appareil pendant que vous le
nettoyez.
Entretien du lecteur de cassette
Pour assurer le bon fonctionnement de votre lecteur de cassette, nettoyez les parties A, B et C illustrées dans le
diagramme ci-dessous, toutes les 50 heures d'utilisation ou au moins une fois par mois.

Installatie en gebruik van batterijen
BATTERIJWAARSCHUWINGEN: Alleen volwassenen mogen batterijen installeren. Een kind mag dit
apparaat alleen gebruiken als het batterijdeksel op een juiste manier op het batterijvak is vastgemaakt.
Volg altijd de veiligheidsvoorschriften en gebruiksaanwijzingen van de fabrikant van de batterijen.
Houd batterijen uit de buurt van kinderen en huisdieren.
Installeer de batterijen volgens de juiste polariteit (+/-) zoals aangegeven binnenin het batterijvak. De

Opmerkingen over discs
Hanteren van discs
Raak de afspeelzijde van de disc niet aan. Houd de disc bij de rand vast zodat er geen vingerafdrukken op
het oppervlak terechtkomen. Kleef geen papier of plakband op de disc.
Bewaren van discs
Na het spelen, bewaar de disc in zijn hoesje. Stel de disc niet aan direct zonlicht of aan een warmtebron
bloot. Laat deze nooit achter in een geparkeerde auto die aan direct zonlicht is blootgesteld.
Reinigen van discs
Vingerafdrukken en stof op de disc kunnen een slechte beeldkwaliteit en geluidsvervorming veroorzaken.
Alvorens af te spelen, maak de disc met een schone doek schoon. Veeg de disc vanaf het midden af.
Gebruik geen sterke oplosmiddelen zoals alcohol, benzine, verdunner, commerciële schoonmaakmiddelen
of anti-statische spuitbussen geschikt voor oudere vinylplaten.
Klasse 1 laser product
Dit product bevat een laser van laag vermogen. Onzichtbare laserstraling komt vrij wanneer geopend
en vergrendeling niet werkt. Vermijd blootstelling aan de straal.
