sette-Deck mit Direkt-Frontlade-System, das
in allen technischen Daten die Qualitátsanfor-
derungen der HiFi Norm weit übertrifft.
Seine moderne Elektronik, sein Bedienungs-
komfort und besondere Einrichtungen (Dolby
NR-System u.a.)* zur Verbesserung der
Wiedergabequalitát gewährleisten eine tonge-
treue Wiedergabe, die auch den anspruchs-
vollen HiFi Kenner und verwóhnten Musiklieb-

Netz
Das Gerät kann an 220 V oder 110 V Wechsel-
spannung 50/60 Hz betrieben werden. Werks-
seitig ist das Cassette Deck auf 220 V Netz-
spannung eingestellt. Bevor Sie das Gerät an
die Steckdose anschließen, prüfen Sie bitte,
ob die eingestellte Spannung am Gerät mit
der Spannung des Stromnetzes überein-
stimmt. Für den Betrieb an 110 V ist der
Spannungsumschalter (29) bei gezogenem
Netzstecker mit Hilfe eines Schraubendre-
hers nach rechts zu schieben. Die Sicherung
für 220 V ist nach Abnehmen der oberen
Geräteabdeckung zugänglich. Bei 110 V
Betrieb ist die Sicherung T 160 mA gegen
T 320 mA auszuwechseln
Zum Auswechseln der Sicherung unbedingt
vorher den Netzstecker ziehen!
Nach Netzanschluß und Einschalten des
Netzschalters (1) ist das Gerät betriebsbereit
Die Leistungsaufnahme beträgt ca. 30 Watt.
Verstärker
Zum Anschluß des Cassetten Decks © 301 M
an ein Steuergerät oder an einen Verstärker
ist die Buchse «record/play» (25) am C 301 M
mittels der beigepackten 5-poligen Anschluß-
leitung nach DIN 45 524 mit der Buchse
«band» am Steuergerät bzw. am Verstärker zu
verbinden. Diese Verbindung dient sowohl zur
‚Aufnahme wie auch zur Wiedergabe von Cas-
setten über den angeschlossenen Verstärker.
Connecting Instructions
Mains
This unit can be operated with 220 VAC or
110 VAC line voltage. It has been factory-set
to 220 VAC prior to shipment. Before con-
necting the unit to a wall outlet, make sure
that the preset voltage matches your line vol-
tage. In order to reset the unit to 110 VAC line
voltage, first disconnect the AC power plug
from the wall outlet, then push the voltage
selector switch (29) to the right with the aid of
a screwdriver. The 220 VAC line fuse is acces-
sible after removing the cabinet cover. For
110 VAC operation, fuse T (160 mA) must be
replaced by a 320 mA fuse
Be sure to remove the AC power plug
before replacing the fuse!
‚After connecting the AC power plug and
depressing the Power switch pushbutton (1)
the unit is ready for use
Power consumption is approx. 30 watts.
Amplifier Connection
In order to connect the Cassette Deck
C 301 M to a stereo amplifier or receiver, use
a 5-wire DIN cord with two 5-pole DIN plugs
matching DIN spec 45524. Insert one of the
plugs into the «record/play» socket (25) of
the C 301 M, the other into the TAPE «band»
socket of your stereo amplifier or receiver.
The DIN cord allows recording and playback
of cassettes via stereo amplifier with only one
cable.
Branchement
Secteur
L'appareil peut être alimenté sous 220 V ou
110 V alternatif 50/60 Hz. L'appareil est réglé
en usine pour 220 V. Avant de relier l'appareil
à une prise de courant, veuillez vérifier si la
tension sur laquelle l'appareil est réglé corre-
spond bien à celle du secteur. Pour le
fonctionnement sous 110 V, retirer la prise de
courant, puis tourner le sélecteur de tension
(29), а l'aide d'un tournevis, vers la droite. Le
fusible pour 220 V est accessible après retrait
du capot supérieur de l'appareil. Pour le fonc-
tionnement sous 220 V, remplacer le fusible
temporisé de 160 mA par un 320 mA.
Pour remplacer le fusible, il est indispensa-
ble de retirer la prise de courant.
Aprés branchement sur le secteur et mise
sous tension par l'interrupteur (1), l'appareil
est prét à fonctionner. La consommation est
d'environ 30 watts
Amplificateur
Pour le branchement du magnétocassette
С 301 M à un amplificateur ou ampli-tuner,
relier la prise «record/play» (25) du C 301 M, à
l'aide d'un cable à cing conducteurs, d'après
DIN 45524, ci joint, à l'amplificateur ou à
l'amplituner, sur la prise «band» (magnéto-
phone). Cette liaison sert aussi bien à Гепге-
gistrement qu'à la reproduction des cassettes
enregistrées par l'intermédiaire de l'amplifica-
teur qui est relié à l'appareil. Si l'ampli-tuner

If your stereo receiver or amplifier is equipped
with Cynch TAPE jacks, two sets of connect-
ing cables with Cynch plugs are required for
recording and playback.
Headphone
A stereo headphone with 200 2000 ohms
impedance, such as the Braun HiFi Stereo
Headphone KH 500, can be connected to the
«Q» jack (3). The headphone jack may be
used for controlling the sound quality during
recording (tape monitor) or for playback of
the recorded signal. This allows to listen to
cassette recordings or playbacks even with
no amplifier connected to the unit.

«Recording» on page 13.

gistrement) que pour l'écoute à la reproduc-
tion. On peut donc aussi écouter des casset-
tes lorsque l'appareil n'est pas relié à un
amplificateur.

Die Tonband-Cassette
Bandtyp-Umschaltung
Als Tonträger können Metallbänder (Band
Type 4), Eisenoxid-, Chromdioxid- und Ferro-
chrom-Tonbánder verwendet werden. Bei
Verwendung verschiedener Bandsorten ist
bei Aufnahme und bei Wiedergabe die der
Bandsorte entsprechende Taste des Band-
typ-Selektors zu drücken
Für Aufnahmen in HiFi Qualität eignen sich
besonders Chromdioxid- oder Ferrochrom-
Cassetten in Verbindung mit dem «Dolby NR»
System.
Das Dolby-Rauschunterdrückungs-System
Beim Dolby NR-System werden leise Passa-
gen von Frequenzen über 400 Hz bei Auf-
nahme stärker als normal aufgezeichnet und
liegen damit über dem Rauschanteil des Ban-
des. Bei der Wiedergabe arbeitet das Dolby
NR-System umgekehrt. Durch entsprechende
Abschwächung wird das Bandrauschen wir-
kungsvoll unterdrückt, wobei der ursprüng-
liche Klangeindruck erhalten bleibt.
Cassette Tape
Cassette Tape — Tape Selector Switch
This unit permits the use of metal-tapes
(band-tap type 4) normal (low noise), chrome
and ferrichrome cassette tape. To ensure
maximum performance of the tape to be
used, set the tape selector switch to the
appropriate position for recording and play-
back. Chrome and ferrichrome cassette tape
is especially recommended for HiFi quality
recordings in conjunction with the built-in
«Dolby NR» system
The Dolby NR System
The Dolby Noise Reduction System automati-
cally increases the recording level of low level
input signals at frequencies of 400 Hz and
above, thus improving the S/N ratio to a level
far above residual tape noise. During play-
back, the Dolby NR system achieves an орро-
site effect: by reducing the output level to
normal rating, tape hiss is minimized without
affecting the original sound quality.

Type de bande — selecteur
On peut utiliser des bandes métallisé (bande
type 4) aux oxydes de fer, bloxyde de chrome
et ferrochrome. A l'enregistrement comme à
la lecture, il convient dappuyer sur la touche
correspondant au type de bande utilisé.
Pour les enregistrements en qualité Hi-Fi, les
bandes au bioxyde de chrome ou ferro-
chrome utilisées avec le systeme «Dolby NR»
conviennent particuliérement.
Le systéme de réduction du souffle Dolby
Avec le systéme Dolby NR, les passages
silencieux de fréquences supérieures à 400
Hz sont enregistrés plus fort que le reste, et
se trouvent donc au-dessus du niveau de
bruit de la bande. A la lecture, le systéme
Dolby NR fonctionne en sens inverse. Une
atténuation correspondante réduit nettement
le souffle de bande, mais l'impression sonore
originelle reste conservée.

Dolbysierte Aufnahmen (auch gekaufte) kön-
nen auf jedem Gerät mit Dolby NR-Einrich-
tung wiedergegeben werden.
Das System wird durch Drücken der Taste
«Dolby NR» (13) eingeschaltet. Durch noch-
maliges Drücken der Taste kann das System
wieder ausgeschaltet werden.
Bei Tonbandaufnahme einer Rundfunksen-
dung mit dem Dolby Geräuschunterdrük-
kungssystem kann das MPX Filter (28) einge-
schaltet werden. Durch das MPX Filter wer-
den evtl. auftretende Pilotton- oder Trägerstö-
rungen, die nicht genügend unterdrückt wer-
den, vermindert.
Bei Aufnahme von Platte oder Mikrofon wird
das MPX Filter nicht benötigt
Cassettenbänder
Bei Eigenaufnahmen zu beachten! Das Cas-
settengerät © 301 M ist nach der für Magnet-
bänder gültigen Norm DIN 45 512 Blatt 6 und
7 eingestellt. Ausländische Cassettenbánder
können von dieser Norm abweichen. Um opti-
male Ergebnisse bei Eigenaufnahmen zu
erzielen, müssen Cassettengerät und Band-
sorte aufeinander abgeglichen sein. Bei
bespielten Cassetten ist die Austauschbarkeit
in jedem Fall gewährleistet. (Bandtyp-Selektor
immer auf die verwendete Bandsorte einstel-
len)
Dolbyized recordings can be reproduced with
any stereo cassette deck, equipped with a
Dolby NR system
The built-in Dolby NR circuit is activated by
depressing the «Dolby NR» pushbutton (13).
To switch off the Dolby system, press the but-
ton once more to release it
MPX Filter
When recording from a radio source with the
Dolby Noise Reduction System the built-in
MPX filter (28) should be activated. Any pilot
tone and sub-carrier disturbances coming
from the tuner will then be suppressed. When
recording from phono or micro sources the
MPX filter need not be activated.
Cassette Tape
Please read carefully before making your own
recordings! The Stereo Cassette Deck
C 301 M has been designed and calibrated in
compliance with DIN standard 45512 (Sheets
6 and 7) governing characteristics of magne-
tie recording tape. Foreign-made cassette
tape may not fully comply with aforemention-
ed standard. In order to ensure optimum qua-
lity of own recordings, cassette deck and tape
material used must be perfectly matched
Prerecorded cassettes are fully compatible —
provided that the band selector switch is pro-
репу set to the cassette tape used.

Le systeme est mis en service en appuyant
sur la touche «Dolby NR» (13). Une nouvelle
pression sur la touche permet de supprimer
le systeme
A l'enregistrement d'une émission du radio
avec le Systéme de réduction du souffle
Dolby il faut activer le filtre MPX (28). Ainsi
chaque son-pilote et le souffle du portense
son produits par le tuner sont supprimés. A
l'enregistrement du disque et du microphone
il n'est pas nécessaire d'activer le filtre MPX.
Types de bande des cassettes
A noter pour les enregistrements personnels!
Le magnétocassette C 301 M est réglé selon
la norme DIN 45 512 feuilles 6 et 7 valable
pour les bandes magnétiques. Les bandes
des cassettes étrangères peuvent être diffé-
rentes de cette norme. Pour obtenir des
résultats optimaux, le magnétocassette et la
bande magnétique doivent étre adaptés l'un à
l'autre. Pour les cassettes enregistrées,
l'interchangeabilité est toujours assurée. (Pla-
cer toujours le sélecteur de type de bande
sur la catégorie de bande utilisée.)

Cassette vor Verwendung überprüfen
Falls eine Bandschlaufe aus der Cassette ragt
oder das Band lose bzw. schlecht gewickelt
ist, kann es vorkommen, daß das Band beim
Umspulen beschädigt wird. Straffen Sie das
Band, indem Sie einen Bleistift durch die Spu-
lennabe stecken und drehen. Vor einer Auf-
nahme sollte das Band einmal komplett
umgespult werden (erst schneller Vorlauf,
dann schneller Rücklauf), um zu verhindern,
daß die Aufzeichnung durch Bandstau oder
unregelmäßigen Bandlaut beeinträchtigt wird.
Bitte berücksichtigen Sie bei Aufnahmen das
Vorspannband am Anfang der Cassette, es
kann nicht bespielt werden (etwa 5 Sekun-
den). Cassetten sollten Immer in der Schutz-
kassette (snap pack) aufbewahrt werden; es
schützt vor Schmutz, Staub und Bandschlau-
fen. Bewahren Sie Ihre Cassetten stets an
einem Platz auf, der frei von Schmutz, Staub,
Öl. magnetischen Feldern (z.B. Lautspre-
chern) und Hitzeeinwirkung ist.
Berühren Sie nicht die Bandoberflache, es
kann zu Tonausfällen (drop-outs) führen. Set-
zen Sie das Band nicht unmittelbar nach dem
Reinigen der Tonköpfe und Antriebselemente
ein, warten Sie 3 Minuten, bis die Reinigungs-
flüssigkeit verdunstet ist.
Inspect Cassettes before Use
If tape is exposed from the cartridge or it has
a slack inside the cassette due to improper
winding, it may be damaged or ruptured dur-
ing rewind mode. In this case insert a pencil
into the reel hub and rotate it until the slack is
fully taken up. Make it a rule to completely
rewind each cassette before you make a
recording. That is done easily by first setting
the cassette deck to «fast forward», then to
«fast rewind» mode. This will avoid tape con-
gestion or irregular tape transport during the
recording process
Please observe that the lead-in tape of each
cassette (which run for approx. 5 seconds)
cannot be used for recording, Always keep
your cassettes in their storage boxes. This
will prevent them from dust, dirt und tape
slack. Do not expose your cassettes to dust,
dirt, oil, magnetic fields (e. g. loudspeakers,
TV sets) direct sunlight and heat. Do not
touch the exposed tape with your fingers
since this will cause drop-outs. Do not insert
the cassette immediately after cleaning the
tape heads and the tape transport mechan-
ism. Wait at least 3 minutes, until the cleaning
fluid has evaporated.
Verifier les cassettes avant utilisation
Si une boucle de bande dépasse de la cas-
sette, ou si la bande est enroulée lâche ou
irréguliérement, elle risque d'étre endomma-
gée en défilement rapide. Tendez la bande en
passant un crayon dans l'axe d’enroulement
et en le tournant. Avant enregistrement, la
bande devrait être complètement dévidée
(d'abord avance rapide, puis rebobinage),
pour éviter que l'enregistrement soit imparfait
à cause d'un blocage de bande ou d'un défi-
lement irrégulier.
Notez pour les enregistrements que les cas-
settes comportent une bande amorce qui ne
peut être enregistrée (env. 5 secondes). Les
cassettes devraient toujours être conservée
dans leur étui; il les protège contre les salis-
sures, la poussière et les boucles par
déroulement partiel accidentel. Conservez
toujours vos cassettes en un endroit exempt
de saleté, poussière, huile, champs magnéti-
ques (p. ex. les haut-parleurs) et trop chaud.
Ne touchez pas la surface de la bande, vous
risqueriez des drop-outs {trous sonores). Ne
placez pas la bande dans l'appareil immédia-
tement aprés le nettoyage des tétes et pieces
en contact avec la bande, mais attendez trois
minutes que le liquide de nettoyage soit ёуа-
poré.

Einlegen der Cassette
Schwenken Sie zunächst die Tonkopfabdek-
kung nach unten. Schieben Sie die Cassette,
wie auf dem Bild sichtbar, mit der vollen Spule
links liegend in das Cassettenfach ein, bis die
Cassette einrastet.
Das Gerät ist nun spielbereit.
Loading the Cassette Deck
First swivel the sound head cover down-
wards. Then, referring to the ilustration, push
the cassette into its compartment, with the
full spool at the left-hand side, making sure
that the cassette latches satisfactorily. The
deck is now ready to play.

Nach dem Einlegen einer bespielten Cassette

Playback
Insert the recorded cassette into the cassette
compartment as described above. Then push
the «start» button (20). The LED indicator
above the sensor button will light up and play-
back commences. Additionally press the
appropriate tape selection button, for exam-
ple «metal» (14), «fe» (16), «or» (15) and
«fecr» (15 and 16) simultaneously also the
button «Dolby NR» (18) if you are playing a
Dolbyized recording. Adjust playback volume
and tone at the volume and tone controls of
your stereo amplifier or receiver.
Input level controls (11 and 12) are inoperative
during playback, whereas the LED array level
indicators (10) will display the output signal
level.

Aufnahme
Voraussetzung für eine gute Aufnahme ist die
richtige Aussteuerung. Ist die Aussteuerung
zu gering, erfolgt eine schwache, leise Auf-
zeichnung. Ist sie zu hoch (Übersteuerung),
kommt es zu Verzerrungen.
Vor dem Beginn einer Aufnahme ist zunächst
die entsprechende Bandtyp-Taste, «metal»
(14), «fe» (16), «cr» (15) bzw. «fecr» (15 und
16) gleichzeitig zu drücken. Um eine rausch-
freie Aufnahme zu erhalten, schalten Sie das
Doiby-Rauschunterdrückungssystem durch
Drücken der Taste «Dolby NR» (13) ein.
Vor der Aufnahme stellen Sie das Zählwerk
(5) durch Drücken der Rückstelltaste «reset»
(6) auf «000»
Zum leichteren Wiederfinden einzelner Musik-
stücke notieren Sle bei Beginn der Aufnahme
den Zählerstand und den Titel. Danach kön-
nen Sie beim schnellen Vorlauf bzw. Rücklauf
des Bandes jeden gewünschten Titel anhand
des notierten Zählerstandes auswählen und
wiederfinden
Zum Aussteuern wird zuerst die Taste
«pause« (17), dann die Tasten «start» (20) und
«record» (18) gleichzeitig gedrückt
Recording
The quality of a recording depends largely on
the proper adjustment of the input level. If the
recording level is too low, playback volume
will be insufficient, whereas excessive input
levels causes sound distortion.
Before recording, depress the tape selector
switch matching the type of cassette tape to
be used: e. 9. «metal» (14), «fe» (16), «cr»
(15) for chrome, «fecr» (15 and 16) simultane-
ously for ferrichrome tape. For high quality
noise-free recordings with the Dolby NR
system, depress the «Dolby NR» button (13)
Reset the tape counter (5) to «000» by
depressing the reset button (6) before you
start the recording.
To facilitate the indexing and locating of cer-
tain musical passages, note the tape counter
reading and the title of music before record-
ing. This will help you to select and find any
desired title with the aid of the respective
counter reading during fast forward and fast
rewind (review) mode,
For setting the recording input level, first
depress the «pause» button (17) and then the
«start» (20) and «record» buttons (18) simul-
taneously.
Enregistrement
Un niveau correct est la condition d'un bon
enregistrement. Si le niveau est trop faible,
l'enregistrement est faible. S'il est trop élevé
(saturation) on observe des distorsions.
Avant le début d'un enregistrement, appuyer

Pour retrouver plus facilement les divers
morceaux de musique, notez le chiffre du
compteur au début de chaque enregistrement
ainsi que le titre en marche avant ou arriére
rapide, il est ensuite facile de choisir et
retrouver n'importe quel titre à partir du
chiffre du compteur.
Pour le réglage du niveau, on enfonce
d'abord la touche «pause» (17) puis
simultanément les touches «start» (20) et
«record» (18)

Bei Stereo-Aufnahmen können die beiden
LED-Reihen teilweise unterschiedlich anzei-
gen. Pegelkorrekturen können mit den Pegel-
stellern (11 und 12) getrennt für linken und
rechten Kanal vorgenommen werden.
The recording level is adjusted by means of
the two «recording level» controls (11 and 12).
Maximum recording level is indicated by the
green LED arrays (10), occasional peak levels
by the red LEDs which will then light up short-
ly. This, however, will not impair the quality of
the recording.
Metal, normal (low noise) and ferrichrome
tape requires slightly higher recording levels.
When recording in stereo mode, the two LED
arrays may display different level indications.
Necessary level corrections for the left and
right channel can be accomplished by individ-
ual adjustment of the level controls (11 and
12).

kurzzeitig unterbrochen werden (z. B. bei
einer Zwischenansage, die nicht aufgezeich-
net werden soll), wird die Taste «pause» (17)
gedrückt. Die Aufnahmebereitschaft bleibt

Soll schnell zu einer Aufnahme gestartet wer-

Löschen einer bespielten Cassette
Bei jeder Aufnahme wird die vorherige Band-
aufzeichnung automatisch gelóscht. Soll das
Band nur gelóscht werden, sind die Aus-
steuerungssteller (11 und 12) auf linken
Anschlag zu stellen, sowie die Aufnahme zu
starten.
Start the recording by depressing the
«pause» button (17) again. Depressing the
«pause» button (17) during the recording will
momentarily stop the tape transport (e. g. to
skip a commercial during a musical program),
whereas the unit will remain in standby mode.
To resume the recording, release the «pause»
button (17) by depressing it again. At the end
of the recording, depress the «stop» button
(19). This will stop the tape transport and
release all previously depressed function but-
tons.
Instant start of a recording is effected by
simultaneously depressing the «record» (18)
and «start» (20) pushbuttons.
How to erase Cassette Recordings
When the unit is set in record mode, the pre-
vious recording will automatically be erased.
To merely erase a recording without making a
new one, set the «recording level» controls (11
and 12) to full counterclockwise position and
depress the «start» button (20).

effacé. Si on veut seulement effacer la bande.

Sicherung gegen Léschen
Alle Cassetten sind an ihren Rückseiten mit
zwei Plastikzungen versehen. Werden diese
Zungen z. B. mit einem Schraubendreher her-
ausgebrochen, wird die automatische Aufnah-
mesperre im Gerät wirksam. Die Cassette
kann dann nicht mehr gelöscht werden. Auf
diese Weise können wertvolle Aufnahmen
gegen versehentliches Löschen gesichert
werden.
Wird die Cassette von oben betrachtet, befin-
det sich die für die jeweilige Laufrichtung
wirksame Zunge hinten links.
Soll das Band bzw. eine einzelne Bandseite
wieder gelöscht und neu bespielt werden, so
überkleben Sie die Öffnung mit einer Klebe-
folie.
Accidental Erase Protection
There are two plastic tabs on the rear side of
each cassette. To prevent accidental erasure
of previously recorded material, pry of these
tabs with the aid of a screwdriver. This will
activate the built-in protection circuit and pre-
vent the record button from being depressed.
Since the recording function is defeated, valu-
able recordings are adequately protected
from accidental erasure.
When looking at the cassette from the top,
the erasure prevention tab for the respective
side (A or B) is always located on the left
side
Ifyou desire to erase the recording later on
just close the slot for one or both cassette
sides by applying a small piece of adhesive
tape.
Protection contre l'effacement
Toutes les cassettes comportent deux langu-
ettes en plastique au dos. Si on casse ces
languettes, p. ex. à l'aide d'un tournevis, le
blocage automatique de l'enregistrement est
mis en fonction dans l'appareil. La cassette
ne peut plus être effacée. On peut ainsi proté-
ger les enregistrements précieux contre un
effacement accidentel.

guette correspondant au sens de défilement
se trouve à l'arrière gauche
Si une bande ou une piste doit étre effacée
puis réenregistrée, fermez l'ouverture par un
morceau de ruban adhésif.

Mikrofon-Aufnahme
Für Stereo-Mikrofonaufnahmen können an die
5-polige DIN-Schaltbuchse «micro» (2} ein
niederohmiges dynamisches Stereo-Doppel-
mikrofon oder über ein Spezial-Y-Kabel zwei
Mikrofone angeschlossen werden (Kontakt-
belegung der Mikro-Buchse siehe Skizze)
Wir empfehlen die Verwendung von Richt-
mikrofonen, da sie eine gute Stereo-Kanal-
trennung ermöglichen.
Für Monoaufnahmen können beide Mikrofone
benutzt und nebeneinander aufgestellt oder
ein Mikrofon verwendet werden, in dem im
Stecker Stift 3 und 5 leitend verbunden sind.
Lassen Sie sich hierzu von Ihrem Fachhändler
beraten.
Aufnahme von Rundfunksendungen
Stereosendungen werden nur von UKW-Sen-
dern ausgestrahlt. Wegen der besseren Qua-
lität sollten Sie auch für Mono-Aufnahmen die
Sendungen aus dem UKW-Bereich wählen.
Stellen Sie an Ihrem Rundfunkgerät eine
starke, rauschfreie Station ein und schalten
Sie Ihr Cassetten Deck wie beschrieben auf
Aufnahme. Vergessen Sie nicht, die richtige
Aussteuerung einzustellen
Während der Aufnahme können Sie die Sen-
dung über Ihre Stereo-Anlage oder über
Kopfhörer an Buchse (8) mithören
Microphone Recordings
For stereo microphone recordings, connect a
low impedance stereo microphone (or two
monaural microphones with matching
Y-cable) to the 5-pole DIN socket «micro» (2)
with built-in switch contacts. (For inside con-
nection of the microphone socket, see att-
ached figure). In order to achieve optimum
stereo channel separation, we recommend
the use of microphones with directional char-
acteristics.
For monaural recordings, both microphones
can be used simultaneously, being placed
close to each other. If only one microphone is
used, a jumper wire must be installed
between pins 3 and 5 of the microphone plug.

dealer.
Recording of Radio Programs
Stereo programs are only transmitted by FM
radio stations. Because of their superior
sound quality, we recommend to utilize FM
radio transmissions for monaural recording
too, Tune your receiver to a strong FM sta-
tion, transmitting a noise-free signal. Then set
your stereo cassette deck to recording mode
as described above. Do not forget to properly
adjust the recording level.
During the recording, you may monitor the
FM transmission by using the speakers of
your stereo system or by connecting a stereo
headphone to jack (3)

Enregistrement des émi

Les émissions stéréo ne sont émises que par
les stations FM. A cause de leur meilleure
qualité, vous devriez n'enregistrer que des
stations de la gamme FM, même en mono-
phonie. Réglez votre récepteur sur une sta-
tion puissante regue sans souffle et commu-
tez votre magnétocassette comme indiqué
pour l'enregistrement. N'oubliez pas de régler

Schneller Vorlauf, Rücklauf und Abschalt-
automatik
Durch Drücken der Tasten für schnellen Vor-
lauf «юв» (21) bzw. schnellen Rücklauf « ««»
(22) kann das Band umgespult werden
Bestimmte Aufnahmestellen lassen sich mit
Hilfe des Zählwerks schnell auffinden.
Der Bandtransport wird mit der Taste «stop»
(19) beendet oder am Bandende automatisch
gestoppt. Es ist aber auch möglich, Bandlauf-
änderungen ohne Betätigung der Stoptaste
(19) durchzuführen
Important Note: If you do not wish to make a
microphone recording, remove the micro-
phone plug from the «micro» socket (2). With
the microphone connected, recordings
through the DIN or Line Inputs are impossible.
Recording of Phono Program Material
If you want to make a recording of phono
records reproduced by a turntable connected
to your stereo system, set the controls of
your stereo cassette deck as described for
«Recording of Radio Programs», above
Fast Forward, Fast Rewind, Automatic
Cut-off Switch
The tape can be rewound by depressing the
fast forward «<p» » (21) and fast rewind «aa»
buttons (22), which select the running direc-
tion. You may easily locate a certain passage
on previously recorded cassettes with the aid
of the tape counter. Tape transport is
stopped manually by depressing the «stop»
button (19) or automatically at the end of the
tape. But it is also possible to change the
tape running direction without operation of
the «stop» button (19)
Important! Lorsque vous n'enregistrez pas

Die «Memory»-Einrichtung ermöglicht den

eine dauernde Wiederholung eines Bandes
bzw. Bandabschnittes

sition. For this purpose, set the tape counter
