your enjoy ent in ind. To ensure that it works to its full potential, it needs to be fitted correctly. These fitting
instructions have been created to give you all of the infor ation you need and, if you need any further help, please
do not hesitate to give us a call on 0844 701 6273.

Please read these instruction thoroughly and retain for future use.
All product anufactured and supplied by Bristan are safe provided they are installed correctly, used correctly and
receive regular aintenance in accordance with these instructions.
These fittings need to be installed in accordance with and eet the require ents of the Water Supply (Water
Fittings) Regulations 1999 and Scottish Byelaws 2004.
Before starting any installation please consider the following:
Prior to drilling into walls, check that there are no hidden electrical
wires, cables or water supply pipes. This can be checked with the aid of
an electronic detector.
If power tools are used do not forget to:
- Wear eye protection
- Unplug equip ent after use
SAFETY
NOTE
Your fitting has a high quality finish and should be treated with care to preserve the visible surfaces. All surfaces
will wear if not cleaned correctly, the only safe way to clean your ixer is to wipe with a soft da p cloth. Stains
can be re oved using washing up liquid. All bath cleaning powders and liquids will da age the surface of your
fitting, even the non-scratch cleaners. NOTE: Never use abrasive detergents or disinfectants or those

1. Identify all co ponents and check for co pleteness, particularly
before co encing installation.
2. Install the taps to the basin/bath. The backnut (9) and washer (8)
are used underneath to secure the taps to the surface of the
basin/bath, with the washer (8) and plinth (7) above.
3. Connect the hot and cold water supplies.
4. Turn on the water supplies. Open both outlets, letting the water
flow for a few inutes to check all joints and connections for leaks.

Designed to co ply with BS EN 200 for single taps/ co bination taps and BS EN 817 for single lever ixers, for
water syste s of type 1 and 2 general technical specifications and to be used within syste s designed to BS 6700.
BS 6700 reco ends the te perature of stored water should never exceed 65°C. A stored water te perature of
60°C is considered sufficient to eet all no inal require ents and will ini ise the build up of li e scale in hard
water areas.

These fittings are suitable for use at all supply pressures. However for opti u use both the hot and cold
supplies should be reasonably balanced.
If the fitting is installed at low pressure (tank fed), then the ini u distance fro the highest installed position
of the outlet to the underside of the cold tank should be at least 2 etres to ensure adequate perfor ance.
These taps and ixers should be installed in co pliance with the Water Regulations. Where the supplies are
unbalanced, i.e. Hot water fro cylinder tank / cold fro the ains, approved check valves ust be fitted in the
supply pipes. For further details contact your Local Water Authority.

1. Identify all co ponents and check for co pleteness, particularly before co encing installation.
2. Install ixer (for tall basin ixer add extension tube (14) to ixer body (7) first) to the basin/bidet. Secure the
ixer to the surface of the basin/bidet using the fixing kit, with the washer (8) over the basin/bidet. Fix the
fixing studs (10) then fit the ‘C’ shaped rubber & etal washers (9&11) and secure with the fixing nuts (12).
3. Screw in connecting flexi tail pipes (13) by HAND ONLY

HAND ONLY (do not over tighten) and then connect the hot and
cold supplies.
4. Fit the pop-up waste (if applicable), with the flat washer below and the shaped washer above the bidet. It is
advised that a silicon sealant be applied to both sealing faces of the washers. The plug height can be set by
adjusting the waste rod, operating rod, rod connector and then screw in the base of the plug. Friction for the
waste echanis can be adjusted using the waste cap (15). (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN). Please ake sure

5. Turn on the water supplies. Lift and turn handle both ways for a few inutes, letting the water flow, to check
all joints and connections for leaks.

1. Identify all co ponents and check for co pleteness, particularly before co encing installation.
2. Install the ixer body to the bath using the backnuts (8) and backnut washers (7) provided under the bath
with the plinth (6) and further washers (7) above.
3. FOR THE BATH SHOWER MIXER ONLY: Fit the hose (14) to the ixer, underneath the spout to diverter
(10&12).
4. Fix the wall bracket (15) to the wall ensuring that the handset and hose will reach it.
5. Connect the hot and cold water supplies and turn water supplies on.
6. Fully open the valves (4) by turning handles (3), letting the water run for a few inutes to check for leaks.
7. Operate the ixer in both bath and shower ode. To switch fro bath to shower ode, pull the diverter knob
(9) up. After use, the ixer auto atically reverts to the bath filling ode.

guidance/authorisation fro our Custo er Service Depart ent, and be able to supply proof and date of purchase, before any
re edial action is taken.
The guarantee excludes general wear and tear and da age caused by accident, isuse or neglect, and does not cover the
following:
. Co ponents that are subject to general wear and tear such as filters, seals, ‘O’ rings and washers etc.
· Da age caused by faulty installation
· Da age caused by li e scale or any waterborne debris
· Da age caused by inappropriate cleaning products (see user instructions)
· Da age caused by the use of non-Bristan parts
· The product being used for a purpose other than intended by the anufacturer.
