Supplying Power to non-POE-compatible AirStations
A WLE-POE-R7 or WLE-POE-R33 Receiver Adapter (sold separately) is required when supplying
power to an AirStation or BroadStation that does not support Power Over Ethernet (POE).
Use the following procedure to supply power to non-POE-compatible AirStations or BroadStations.
Do not connect a hub or PC to the POE port.
Doing so may result in damage or burnout of the hub or PC. Connect this product to a Receiver
Adapter’s POE port.
The WLE2-POE-S and the Receiver Adapter do not have a repeater function. The total cable
length from other device connected to the product's LAN port to the AirStation or BroadStation(total
length of 1, 2, and 4 in the following diagram) is 100 m max.
1Connect the LAN port of the WLE2-POE-S to the hub or computer.
2Connect the LAN port of the Receiver Adapter to the AirStation or BroadStation.
3Connect the DC cable of the Receiver Adapter to the DC connector of the AirStation or
BroadStation.
4Connect the POE port of the WLE2-POE-S to the POE port of the Receiver Adapter using
Cat 5 network cable or higher.
If network cable lower than Cat 5 is used, the power may not be supplied to the
AirStation or BroadStation.
5Connect the power cable to the AC Adapter of the WLE2-POE-S, and then insert the
plug into the AC power outlet.

Specifications
Use the following procedure to supply power to a POE-compatible products.
Do not connect a hub or PC to the POE port.
Doing so may result in damage or burnout of the hub or PC. Connect a POE-compatible
products.
This product does not have a repeater function. The total cable length from other device con-
nected to the product to the the POP-compatible product is 100 m max(total length of 1 and 2 in the
following diagram).
1Connect the POE-compatible product to the POE port using Cat 5 network cable or higher.
Using a different cable may prevent the supply of power.
2Connect the hub or PC to the Power Supply Adapter's LAN port.
3Connect the AC adapter to the AC outlet.

Note: After detaching the user's registration card from the warranty certificate, be sure to fill out the

.Always use Cat 5 network cable or higher (all Melco ETP-series cables can be used) to connect this
product with a POE-compatible AirStation or BroadStation or Receiver Adapter.
Using a different cable may prevent the supply of power.
.The WLE2-POE-S Power Supply Adapter does not have a repeater function. The total cable length
from other device connected to the LAN port to the AirStation or BroadStation is 100 m max.
.Use LAN cable that is compatible with the products to which it will be connected.
.Use commercially available cables. Using cables prepared by the user may result in the network
configuration not functioning properly.
.Always use Cat 5 network cable or higher (all Melco ETP-series cables can be used) when configur-
ing a network of 100 Mbps.
Product Overview
The WLE2-POE-S Power Supply Adapter is an adapter for supplying power to the AirStation or the
BroadStation. Using this product enables compatible AirStations or BroadStations to be used in locations that
are not provided with a nearby power supply.

Always follow the warnings and precautions indicated by the manufacturers of the PC and
peripheral devices when installing and using this product.
Do not attempt to disassemble or repair this product.
