IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To re uce the risk of personal injury or property amage when using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
shoul always be followe , inclu ing the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces! Always use hot pa s or pot hol ers until unit cools.
3. To protect against electrical shock, o not immerse base, cor or plug in water or other liqui .
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is use by or near chil ren.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use an before cleaning. Allow to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts,

NOTE: A short power supply cor (or cor set) has been provi e to re uce the hazar s resulting from becoming entangle
in or tripping over a longer cor . Longer cor sets or extension cor s may be use if care is properly exercise in their use.
If a long cor set or extension cor is use , the marke electrical rating of the cor set or extension cor shoul be at least
as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer cor shoul be arrange so that it will not rape over the
counter top or table top where it can be pulle on or trippe over acci entally.
Before You Use Your Griddle
1. Remove the rotective film - Carefully remove all the protective film from the external walls of your new Gri le. Be
sure not to leave any resi ue on the stainless steel surface. If there shoul be any resi ue, it may be remove with any
stainless steel cleaner.
2. Positioning - Be sure the Gri le will fit in the available space, an allow for all necessary clearances.

When installing your Gri le, leave a space of 4(minimum) between the back of the unit an the wall, an 2 minimum on si es.
l
Ventilation hoo requirements vary accor ing to local co es. Be sure to check your local co es before placing your Gri le.
l These Gri les are not esigne for built-in applications.
3. Electrical Connection - This unit is equippe with a groun e , 3-pronge commercial plug. For safety, this plug MUST
be connecte to a 3 pronge outlet. Before connecting power, make sure the outlets voltage an frequency correspon to
the ata plate on the unit (FTCG-200= 208/240 volts/60hz/2500 watts/11.4 amps. Before turning your Griddle on, be sure
to check your entire circuit to verify that the total amps being rawn by all the appliances, lights, etc. on that circuit o
not excee the amps available on that circuit.
4. Burn In before first use - Before using the Gri le for the first time it shoul be Burne In. First, be sure the unit is
unplugge . Then wash the ceramic cooking surface with soapy water an ry it thoroughly. To Burn In your Gri le, simply
plug the unit into the correct outlet type, set the temperature to 450ºF an let it run for 30 minutes with nothing on the gri le
surface. Now you are rea y to start cooking. (Note: Burning In only nee s to be one once.)
Notes For Use
1. Warning! The Gri le is capable of reaching very high temperatures, an heats up very quickly. Follow all safety proce ures
to avoi injury.
2. Never touch the gri le cooking surface while the power is on or the gri le surface is hot.
3.
Never use pots an pans on the glass-ceramic gri le surface. The gri le surface was esigne to cook foo , not to heat pots.
4. Never place aluminum foil or plastic on the gri le surface.
5. The ceramic glass gri le surface is not porous like metal gri les an will not absorb or transfer flavors.

6. Fast Heat-up - The Gri le preheats very quickly. These Gri les use both irect an infrare heat to quickly cook your
foo s to perfection. It is not necessary to leave your Gri le on throughout the service perio . To preheat the Gri le,
simply set the esire cooking temperature. You will notice the power light illuminates, in icating that power is going to
the Gri le. Your Gri le will be preheate an rea y to start cooking in about 2 or 3 minutes. When the power light is
no longer illuminate , the Gri le is rea y to use.
7. Use only a stainless steel spatula with roun e corners for positioning an removing foo from the grilling surface, to
avoi scratches on the glass-ceramic surface.
8. This Glass-Ceramic Gri le is esigne to allow the operator to place frozen foo s irectly on the heate gri le surface
without causing amage.
9. You have a one year parts an labor warranty on your new Gri le; keep it vali . Your Gri le was esigne to prepare
foo ; ont abuse it by using it for any other purpose.

Power Button When the power button on the front of the
Gri le is epresse , (1), the Gri le is heating an in a
cooking mo e. When the button is not epresse , (0), there
will not be any heat going to the Gri le.
Tem erature Light When the light is on, the Gri le
is generating heat. When the light goes off, the set
temperature has been reache .
You will notice the light cycling on an off uring the
cooking process. When the light is on, the Gri le is
sen ing more heat to the grilling surface. When it is off,
the grill has been heate to the set temperature.
Tem erature Control Dial Turn the

If Trouble Occurs
If there is any unusual change in the operation of your Gri le, turn it off an isconnect the power imme iately. Have a
qualifie electrician perform any necessary repairs before using the Gri le again. If there are any cracks in the ceramic
glass top o not use the Gri le.
Cleaning Instructions
Cooking Residues
1. It only takes a few secon s to keep your Gri le clean while you are grilling. Simply wipe the grilling surfaces with a clean
paper towel between san wiches. (Be sure to use a hot mitt or pothol er!)
2. During operation, the Gri le may be also be Quick Cleane with the scraper* provi e with the unit. The scrape
resi ue may be pushe into the metal dri tray un er the gri le surface through the opening in the Drip Channel at the
front of the Gri le. Be sure to em ty the dri tray regularly to avoid s ills. For safety, let the unit cool before
attem ting to em ty dri tray.
3. *To avoi amaging the glass-ceramic cooking surface when cleaning, always use a scraper with roun e bla e e ges,
an be sure the blade is in contact with the grilling surface along the entire length of the blade. Do not use the corner
of the scraper because this causes scoring on the grilling surface, irreparably compromising functionality an cleanability.
Replace the scraper bla e when it is no longer very sharp.
For more thorough cleaning
1. Turn the unit OFF with the Power Switch and un lug the unit from ower source before roceeding.
2. For har to clean spots use the scraper* (see 3. above).
3. There are many nonabrasive cleaners specifically ma e for ceramic cooking tops on the market to ay. We suggest using
your choice of nonabrasive cleaner at the en of each ay or service perio to keep your Gri lel in top con ition.
4. Never use a s ray of water or immerse the Griddle in water. This will amage the electrical components an might
create a hazar ous con ition. It will also voi your warranty.
