Precautions
Camera
Care
(1)
This
camera
isnotresistant
towater
and
mustnot
beusedin
therain
orinwater. lfthe
camera
accidentallygets
wet,
contact
your
nearest
Canon
service
center
assoon
aspossible.
lfa fewwater
droplets
fall
on the camera,
place
it on a well-ventilated
and stable
surface
and
wipe
itwith
aclean,dry
cloth.

The camera
can reachexcessively
hightemperatures
if exposed
to
direct
sunlight,
such
as whenleftin a carduring
theday. Heat
is a
common
sourceof camera
problems,
so please
take
care
where
you
leave
your
camera.
(3)
The
camera
contains
high-voltage
electronic
circuitry.
Onnoaccount
should
you
attempt
to
disassemble
the
camera
yourself,
as
this
canbe
dangerous.
(4)
should
dust
accumulate
on the lens
or inthefilm
compartment,
use
oneof
thecommercially-available
blower
brushes
to remove
the
dust.
'Never
use
cleaning
materials
containing
organic
solvents
etc.,onthe
camera
body
or lens. Should your
camera
become
particularly
dirty,
contact
your
nearest
Canon
Service
Center.

the batteries
if you do not expect
to usethe camera
for an
extended
period. Store
thecamera
ina well-ventilated,
cooland
dry
place.

Donot
store
the
camera
inlaboratories
where
chemicals
arehandled,
as this
cancauserust
andcorrosion.

avoid
placing
the
camerain
drawers
or
other
places
where
chemicals

The
LCDPanel
The
camera
hasa liquid
crystal
display
(LcD). LCDs
canbecome
faint
and
difficult
toread
over
timethrough
normal
usage.
Should
thishappen,
please
take
your
camera
to your
nearest
Canon
Service
Center
to have
the
displayreplaced.(There
is
achargefor
this
service).

Precautions
LCDs
also
respondmore
slowly
atlower temperatures
andcanturn
black
at hightemperatures
of60'C. lf restoredto a regular
temperature,
they
willoperate
asnormal.
Lithium
Batteries
TwoCR121NDL123Alithium
batteriesmustfirst
becorrectlyinstalled
for
thecamerato operate. Please
checkthe battery level
inthe following
instances:

when
you
replace
the
batteries
(2)
when
thecamerahasnot
beenusedfor
anextended
period
(3)
whenthe
shutter
will
notrelease
(4)
when
you
aretaking
photographs
invery
coldtemperatures
(5)
when
taking
particularly
important
photographs
, . Whenloading
batteriesintothe
camera,checkthatthebatterycontacts
arecleanand
avoidsmearingthemwithfinger-prints.
This is to preventpoor
contactand battery
drain.
. Batteries
can be extremely
dangerousif disassembled,
recharged,
exposedto high
temperatures,shorted,
ordisposed
ofinfire.
. Whilethese
batteriescan
serve
well
atlowtemperatures,
the
performance
will
dropoff
considerablybelowthefreezing
point. When
usingthecamera incoldtemperatures,
keep
a setof batterieswarminyourpocket
andinstall them
just
before
you
take
your
photographs.
Usingthe Camera
on Low Power
Even
when
the d-r symbol
onthe LCD
panel
blinks,correctlyexposed
photographs
canstill be taken whenthe shutteris released.
However,
autofilm
advanceandautomatic
rewindmaybe impossible.Please
replace
thebatteries with
new
ones.
Electronic
Contacts
Whenremoving
the lens,
be surenotto damagethe electronic
contacts
andthe
lens
surface.Hold
thelenswiththe
contactsfacing
upwards.

Install
thebatteries.
Inserttwo lithium
batteries
(CR123A/
DL123A)
intothecamera
as
indicated.
Attach
the
lens.
Align the red marks on the camera and lens,
and turn the lens clockwise until it stops and
locks with a click.
Setthecommanddialto E
Loadthefilm.
Align the edge of the film leader with the
orange mark and close the back cover until it
clickssecurelyshut.
. The film will advance to the firstframe.

taken, the film will rewind automatically.
When complete, open the back cover and
remove
