damage to the board or radio while trying to install, and illegal use of the modified radio
Tools needed:
1. None
Preparation
1. Turn off car engine and remove key from ignition
2. Using the stereo removal tools carefully remove radio from the pocket it sits in
3. Locate the CD Changer cable or socket on a radio. Usually located at the left upper
corner of the radio when looking from the front of the stereo.
4. Unplug CD Changer cable from the radio if necessary
Note: Factory or aftermarket CD Changer will no longer work after you install Car2PC
adapter!

5. Securely attach Car2PC connector to the CD Changer port of the car stereo. Make sure
the latch is secured and connector does not fall apart.
6. Find a place where you can place Car2PC.
Note: Make sure you mount Car2PC in a place with enough room so when you mount
the car stereo back you do not break the adapter
7. You may use glove box or other spaces in a dash to direct USB+ Audio cables out
8. Mount your car stereo back into the dash, make sure it’s clips are securely fastened
9. Now you can turn you car stereo on and switch it over to CD Changer mode. It should
show Disk 1, Track 01 on a display.
10. Congratulations! You have installed Car2PC-REN adapter and you may use it right
away either with your PC/laptop or as AUX input for any multimedia player (iPod, Zen
etc)
Digital input stereos
In most Renault 2000+ stereos headunit is accepting only digital audio and not analog. If that’s
the case you will need to attach the audio input to your stereo to the S/PDIF output from PC.
Please read the following chapter for the step-by-step instructions.

1. Cut 3 wires from the white harness. White, Black and Green as shown below
2. Get the RCA male jack from the nearest electronic store and extract 2 wires from it as
shown below (use longer cable than shown)
3. Attach shielding wire of RCA cable to white and green wire from white harness
(soldering is the most reliable way to ensure tight connection)
4. Attach inner wire from RCA to the black wire from white harness (soldering is the most
reliable way to ensure tight connection)

5. Isolate connection points using duct tape or shrinking tubes
6. Now your stereo is ready to accept S/PDIF from your PC.
Based on type of motherboard you’re using you will need to follow the instructions in your
installation manual to enable S/PDIF digital output.
On most EPIA motherboards you need to use jumpers for that.
In case if you do not have S/PDIF output on your PC, you will need to use GROM-DIG adapter
to encode your analog audio into digital form.
