Carmen Pro-Salon 1300 Watt User manual


Read these instructions before use and keep them safe. If you pass the appliance
on, pass on the instructions too. Remove all packaging, but keep it until you are
satisfied.
Important Safeguards
Before connecting the appliance check that the voltage indicated on the type plate
corresponds to the mains voltage in your country.
When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should always be followed.
Please read the following carefully before use:
1. Always unplug the appliance immediately after use.
2. Do not use while in the bath.
3. Do not use with wet hands.
4. Do not allow the appliance to be placed or dropped into water or any other liquid.
5. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Turn off the power supply
to the appliance and then unplug from the wall socket.
6. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.
7. Always allow the appliance to cool down before packing away.
8. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near
children or invalids.
9. The appliance should be used for its intended purpose only.
10.Never use attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer.
11.Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
12.Check the cord regularly for wear or damage, particularly where the cord enters
the appliance and the plug.
13.Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Call the
Consumer Service Centre for examination and repair.
14.Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance, straighten after use.
15.Hair lacquers and fixing sprays contain flammable materials. Do not spray while
using the stand dryer.
16.Do not direct hot air from the dryer towards the eyes or other areas sensitive to
heat such as the face and neck.
17.Take special care when using the dryer near children or anyone who is sensitive
to heat.
18.Keep the air intake cover free of dust or fluff.
19.Do not allow the air inlet or outlet to become blocked or even partially blocked.
This may cause the dryer to overheat. If it does overheat, the safety cut-out will
cause the dryer to switch off and remain inoperable until the unit has sufficiently
cooled down. In this event, switch off the appliance, unplug it and let it cool down.
Remove any blockage to the air inlet or outlet before resuming use. If the dryer
should cut out again, even when there is no blockage, contact the approved
Service Centre for examination and repair.
20.Do not use the dryer within 1 meter of any other electrical or electronic appliance
(e.g. TV, computer,...) as it may cause interference.
21.The installation of a residual current operated protective device with a nominal
trip current of 30mA offers additional protection. Contact your electrician.

Household use only
Additional Safeguards
1. Do not try to repair the appliance yourself. Contact the approved Service Centre
for examination and repair.
2. This product has been designed to operate safely when used as a Stand Dryer.
When operating, do not hold or pull the appliance by the AC power cord.
3. Avoid contact with HOT attachments as they will burn the skin with which it
comes into contact.
4. Do not use with an extension cord.
5. Do not use your Carmen Pro-Salon 1300 Watt Stand Dryer to dry a wig or items
made of a material that could burn easily.
6. If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other electrical appliances, your Carmen
Pro-Salon 1300 Watt Stand Dryer may not operate properly. It should then be
operated on a separate circuit from other appliances.

How to Assemble your Carmen Pro-Salon 1300 Watt Stand Dryer
1. There are five legs with wheels. These slot into each other. You may require the
use of a rubber mallet to ensure that they are slotted in completely.
2. There are 2 wheels with locks. Place these on opposite sides.
3. Insert the lower tube into the hole in the centre of the wheel base.
4. The anchor bolt is inserted into the wheel base from underneath.
5. Tighten the anchor bolt, ensuring that the lower tube is well secured.
6. Loosen the spin lock and extend the upper tube which is contained within the
lower tube.

7. Tighten the spin lock.
8. Place the hood onto the upper tube. The hood should slide onto the tube and rest
on the stand bushing.
9. Use the narrower clips to attach the power cord to the upper tube and the wider
clips to attach the power cord to the lower tube.
How to use your Carmen Pro-Salon 1300 Watt Stand Dryer
1. Position your stand dryer in your preferred location.
2. Secure the wheel locks by pressing down on the tabs until a click is heard, to
prevent any movement.
3. Place a chair with its back against the dryer’s base.
4. Adjust the height of the stand dryer by loosening the spin lock, raising or lowering
the upper tube and then tightening the spin lock to secure in place.
5. Lock the visor in the upward position for ease of entrance.
6. Make sure that the Timer and Heat Control Dial are in the off position, and then
plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
7. Turn on the dryer, selecting heat as desired, and timer to on, or time that you
require.
8. Toggle the airflow diffuser to provide more or less circulation.
9. Once you are seated under the hood, close the visor to ensure even heat
distribution while drying.
10.When you are finished, turn off all the switches and unplug the power cord from
the electrical outlet.
11.Allow the stand dryer to cool down before packing it away.
Care and Maintenance
1. Switch the dryer off, unplug it and let it cool down.
2. Wipe the body of the dryer with a soft damp cloth. If necessary use a little
washing-up liquid.
3. Remove deposits from the inlet grille, filter mesh and airflow diffuser, by brushing
with a soft brush or soft cloth.
4. Do not immerse the dryer in water or any other liquid.
5. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
After Sales Service
The appliance is not user-serviceable. If it is not working properly check:
1. You have followed the instructions properly.
2. The outlet supply is switched on.
3. The main supply fuse/circuit breaker has not blown/tripped.
If the appliance still does not work, contact the Service Centre.

Guarantee
Any defect affecting the functionality of the appliance which becomes apparent within
one (1) year of its purchase, will be corrected by free repair or replacement, provided
that the appliance has been used and maintained in accordance with the instructions,
and has not been altered/modified, abused or misused in anyway, and is accompanied
with a Proof of Purchase to validate the age of the appliance.
