The Pedestal has been designed to work in a clean, dry environment; furthermore the Pedestal must not
be used in areas with ne dust or corrosive gases.
! The Pedestal is not designed to work in areas subject to atmospheric explosives, the
presence of ne dust, corrosive gases, acids, corrosive agents or salt or sea salt; further-
more it is not suitable for use in presence of ionized radiaon or non ionized radiaon
(x-rays, laser, micro-waves, ultra violet rays).
The working condions are:
• Temperature range: -20° C / + 60° C (- 4° F/+140° F)
• Humidity: 30 – 95 % (without condensaon)
If the environmental condions are crical we advise to install an adequate air condioning in the area
to balance the humidity and temperature to acceptable levels.
The Pedestal needs no parcular requirements for storage, but should be stored in a dry dust free closed
place; these condions should be ensured even during transportaon.
If the storage area is dusty we advise to cover the Pedestal with a protecve cover.
The Pedestal produces a very low level noise; anyway, the weighted equivalent acousc pressure emit-
ted by the Pedestal is below 70 dB.
3. InstallatIon and settIngs

! It is strongly advised not to remove the labels found on the Pedestal; the labels must
remain well xed, maintained and readable.
! The informaon found on the Pedestal labels should be given whenever assistance or
changes are needed.
! The installaon must be carried out by qualied personnel.
! The product must be used on smooth horizontal ooring, able to hold the Pedestal
weight and guarantee its stability.
! The ooring should be such as to guarantee the stability of the Pedestal, both in move-
ment and at rest.

3.1 settIng the Pedestal
Please assemble the Pedestal as follows:
Release the Skid arms locking lever (17) to free the Skid
arms and rotate the two arms in completely opened posion;
then lock in place with the Skid arms locking lever (17).

16
Install the column in the skid as follows:
Keep the column in vercal posion and open outwards the three tripod legs (14).
Loosen the tripod leg lever (5), extend each tripod leg (14) to its maximum length and lock with tripod
leg lever (5).
Place the three tripod legs feet (21) on the foot inserng seats (23) on the skid arms, checking that the
tripod legs feet (21) are perfectly coupled on the foot inserng seats (23) and push them down unl
feeling a click.
Secure with rubber hooks (22).
Loosen skid clamp (20) and the column lock (6), move the connecon element (7) to the lowest posion,
inserng it with cauon in the central hole of the Skid (9).
The skid arms locking lever (17) and the column lock (6) must be aligned.

! There is a potenal risk of ngers
being trapped between the upper and
lower secons of the Pedestal. When
the Camera is being lowered and par-
cularly when pressurized air is re-
leased; do not insert ngers into this
area at such me.
Rotate the steering wheel (12) ll the red mark matches the red mark on the steering wheel support (1).
Lock the steering wheel with lock knob (11) to avoid the steering wheel disconnecon from the column.
While operang never unlock the steering wheel.

19
12

3.2 mountIng the Camera
Lock the wheels by pushing down the lock lever (25) on each wheel.
Lower the column pushing it down and lock the safety latch (19) to the safety hooking bar (3).
Fix the pan and lt Head directly on the top of the Pedestal or – if needed - using one of the accessories
(see 2.2 Compable equipment – Oponal accessories) and secure the 4 retaining bolts (E) underneath
the steering wheel with the Allen key (F) on the mounng plate (18).
Place the Camera on the pan and lt Head and add all required addional equipment (lens, prompter,
viewnder, pan bars, etc).
Release the safety latch (19).
3.3 PressurIzIng the Pedestal and balanCIng the load
The compressed air provided to the product must be dry, without oil and dust.
The pneumac power should be provided through the intake valve (29) using the manual pump (C)
which is included with the product or by means of an air-compressor. Remove valve cap and inate the
Pedestal.
The column should be lled with clean pressurized air or nitrogen unl it compensates the weight of the
Camera conguraon.
To pressurize the Pedestal connect either the manual air pump provided with the system or the air-com-
pressor to the intake valve (29), by screwing in the pump connecon.
Inate the system unl the column rises and reaches and maintains the top upper posion. Remove the
air intake connecon.
Bleed the air excess, pushing the pin in the intake valve (29) with the reversed cap unl the Camera
moves freely up and down through the enre range of the column stroke. The Camera is now balanced.
Recap the valve (29).
!Before pressurizing the Pedestal it is necessary to unlock the column by releasing the
safety latch (19).

20
13 31
4. usIng the Pedestal
The total height of the system can be increased by extending the central column (4) and the tripod legs
(14). This operaon should be carried out prior to the head and camera installaon. Extend to the de-
sired height the telescopic elements of the central column and tripod legs by releasing the locks (5) and
(6). Once reached the desired height lock all levers back. If correctly balanced the column should move
without any resistance throughout the stroke capability.
In case one should need some resistance to the stroke, regulate the column damping by rotang the drag
knob (13).
The drag control knob (13) is not a lock or a brake. Use the stroke lock (31) to block the column.
