Bonding and Grounding
Appropriate means of bonding and grounding are required by regulation. The information provided
in this manual shall always be verified with local and national building codes.
Everest Solar Systems has obtained a UL 2703 system listing from Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL).
A sample bonding path diagram is shown in Figure 1 below. Your specific installation may vary, based upon
site conditions and your AHJ‘s requirements.
Each electrical connection has been evaluated to a maximum fuse rating of 30A. At least one ground lug per
row of modules must be used to ground all strings within each sub-array, although additional may be used
for redundancy. When installed per these installation instructions, all connections meet the requirements of
NEC 690.43.
This racking system may be used to ground and/or mount a PV module complying with UL 1703 only when
the specific module has been evaluated for grounding and/or mounting in compliance with the included
instructions.
The WEEB-LUG-10.3 utilizes the WEEB-11.5 as the bonding washer and thus carries the markings of the
WEEB-11.5. The proper markings of the WEEB-LUG-10.3 are carried on the product label as required by Un-
derwriters Laboratory (UL).
T Note the WEEB Lug 10.3 utilizes a WEEB 11.5 as a bonding washer and thus carries the markings of a WEEB 11.5

1CUT RAILS TO LENGTH
Using Table 1 as a guide, cut the CrossRail 44-X/48-X/48-XL
profiles to the appropriate lengths according to the desired tilt
angle.
Materials required: CrossRail 44-X or 48-X or 48-XL, cutting tool
(i.e. Sawzall, etc.).
Select and install the appropriate roof attachment according to
the manufacturer’s instructions and the structural calculations
for CrossRail Tilt Up System. Typically,
a connection to the roof structure (i.e. rafters) is required.
Observe all applicable laws, regulations, ordinances and codes,
ensuring the integrity of the roof is maintained. Attach L-Foot to
roof attachment system as specified but the attachment manu-
facturer.
Materials required: appropriate roof attachment product, Everest
L-Foot or T-Foot and hardware.
INSTALL ROOF ATTACHMENT

15
3OPTIONAL: INSTALL EVERFLASH AND L-FOOT
Line up pilot hole with the EverFlash flashing hole.
Insert the lag bolt through the EPDM bonded washer, the
L-foot, the gasketed hole in the flashing and into the rafter.
Torque: The range is between 8.3 - 11.6 ft-lb depending on
the type of wood and time of year. The visual indicator for
proper torque is when the EPDM on the underside of the
bonded washer begins to push out the sides as the washer
compresses. If using an impact wrench to install the fasten-
ers, be careful not to over torque the fastener. You may need
to stop and use a ratchet to finish the install.
Materials required: Bolt, EverFlash L-foot and hardware,
torque wrench with 13 mm deep socket.
OPTIONAL: INSTALL T-FOOT X AND CHEM LINK E-CURB
OR
If installing the E-Curb, please follow the manufacturer's gui-
delines for installation at https://chemlink.com/?s=e+curb.
Apply M-1 to the bottom of the E-Curb rings and place
them around the T-Foot. Press the rings firmly in place until
excess adhesive extrudes from the outside edges.
Apply M-1 along the outside edge of the instlaled E-Curb
rings and smooth it out.
Fill the E-Curb with to the brim of the rings with the 1-Part
sealant.

16
4ATTACH BRACKET TO REAR TILT LEG
Attach the rear Tilt Leg to the Tilt Connector using two M10
T-bolts and two Serrated Hex Nuts. Make sure the connector is
flush along bottom of the rail.

T-Bolt (use bonding T-bolt with dark rail), Serrated Hex Nut.
8ATTACH HORIZONTAL RAILS
Attach the horizontal sections of CrossRail 44-X/48-X/48-
XL (depending upon your design criteria), to the Tilt Leg sets
using the Climber Set.
Note: The maximum distance from the horizontal rails to the
support points is 8 inches (see Figure 5).
Always be sure to follow the PV module installation guide
to ensure the rails are positioned appropriately along the
module frame.
Torque Climber Set: 11.8 ft-lbs (16Nm).
Important: Due to thermal expansion, we recommend pla-
cing a gap of 1.25-2.00 inches (3-5 cm) every 65 ft (20 m)
between rails. Maximum allowable spacing between thermal
expansion gaps shall not exceed 80 ft (24.4 m).
