Operating Instructions

Before use:
• Slowly peel the protective cover off the soleplate.
Hints for Ironing:
1. Sort out the articles to be ironed according to the type of fabric. This will minimize
the frequency of temperature adjustment for different garments.
2. Test ironing a small area on the backside or inside the garment if you are unsure
about the type of fabric. Start with a low temperature and increase gradually.
3. Wait for about three minutes before ironing heat sensitive fabrics. Temperature
adjustment needs certain time to reach the required level no matter if it is higher or
lower.
4. Delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, velour, etc. are best ironed with an ironing cloth to
prevent shine marks.
5. You may need to press a few times to activate the spray, burst and vertical burst
function.
How to Fill Water:
1. Disconnect the iron from mains supply outlet.
2. Release the Water Inlet Cover.
3. Fill with water through the water inlet hole.
4. Fill up to the ‘Max’ level marked on the side of water tank.
Note:
Do not use water with chemicals in it or any other liquids.
How to Set Temperature:
Set the Temperature Control dial according to the international textile protection symbols
(temperature dial/washing label) or the type of fabric.
• Synthetics (low temperature)
• • Silk, wool (medium temperature)
• • • Cotton, linen (high temperature)
Pre-sort the items to be ironed, if necessary.

Steam Ironing Delicate Synthetics:
In practice most fabrics can be steam ironed due to the barrier the steam creates between
the soleplate and the fabric. The temperature control dial must be set at the beginning of
the coloured (3 dot) section. When the pilot light goes off turn the Variable Steam Control
to the maximum steam setting. Hold the iron horizontally to ensure that it is steaming
before starting to iron (check first on an inside seam).
Connecting the iron to the mains electrical supply:
• Plug the iron into an electric socket. The temperature light comes on and indicates
that the iron is heating up. When the temperature light goes out, the set temperature
has been reached and the iron is ready to use.
• During ironing the temperature light on the iron automatically switches on/off, as
the thermostat maintains the set temperature ( you may continue ironing during this
process.)
Setting the Steam Control Switch:
• Set the Steam Control between 0 and 1.
Iron ready for Steam Ironing:
• Steam is produced as soon as the iron is held horizontally.
Steam Off:
Steam generation can be interrupted by:
• Standing the iron on its heel
• Sliding the Steam Control switch to 0.
Spray Setting:
When there is water in the tank, the items to be ironed can be sprayed.
• Press the spray button down slowly, to produce a jet and quickly and strongly to
produce a mist.
Power Steam:
• Press the Power steam button down and then release it during ironing. A strong shot
of steam penetrates deep into the fabric. Leave and interval of at least four seconds
between pressing the Power steam button.
Vertical Ironing:
The iron can also be used for vertical ironing. This is especially useful for getting wrinkles
out of hanging clothes, curtains, wall hangings, etc.
Warning! Never iron clothes on the body!

Refilling Water:
• Disconnect the iron from the mains electrical supply.
• Slide the Steam Control Switch to 0. Refill with water.
• Plug the iron into the mains electrical supply and wait until the temperature light goes
out. Set the Variable Steam Control to 1 if you want steam ironing.
Dry Ironing:
• Slide the Variable Steam Control to 0.
After Ironing:
• Unplug from the mains electrical supply. Slide the Steam Control Switch to 1 and
empty any water left in the tank. Then always set the Steam Control Switch to 0 and
allow the iron to cool down.
• Always store the iron in an upright position, on its heel, when not in use (this will
protect the soleplate).
Integrated Supply Cord Wrap:
• For easy storage the supply cord can be wound around the cord wrap. Do not pull
the cord too tightly which could place stress on the cord protector.
• The iron works at a constant steam volume and this means that the steam pressure
remains the same regardless of the level of water in the water tank. The desired
steam volume is set by means of the Steam Control Switch.
• The first time the iron is used a small amount of smoke may be emitted. This is
perfectly normal and ceases to occur after the appliance has been in use for a short
while
• If drops of water are emitted with the steam, turn the temperature control dial to a
slightly higher setting.
• Items that are damp dry, rather than over-dry, are easier to iron.
• Before using the first time or if the iron has not been used for a few weeks, hold
it horizontally and allow it to steam for about 1 minute. Activate the power steam
button a few times.
• If you use a spray starch we recommend that you wipe the soleplate over occasionally
with a soft damp cloth to help prevent a deposit forming.
• When the iron is to be disposed of, ensure it is unusable (e.g. cut through the supply
cord to remove the plug).
