The best locations in your home to install
the CO alarm:
• Ideally,aCOalarmshouldbeinstalled
 ineveryroomcontainingafuel-burning
appliance.
• Nearbedroomsandlivingareas.
• Oneachlevelofyourhome.
• 1-3metersawayfromallfuelburning
appliances.
• Ateyeleveltoallowoptimummonitoringof
the indicator lights.

Placement:
The CO alarm is designed to be installed on
the wall or a ceiling.
A CO alarm does not replace a smoke alarm.

holeintothesurface.CAUTION: Ensure there
isnowiringoranyelectricalequipmentbehind
thesurfaceyouaredrillingyourholeinto.

Hush function:
Hushingofthealarmisonlypossiblewhen
underalevelof200ppm.Ifyoucannot
hushthealarm,pleaserefertopage16for
instructions.
WhenthealarmisunderCOalarmwarning,
itcanbesilencedfor10minutesbypressing
thehushbutton(whichistheentirebottomof
the alarm).
Ifabatteryfaultoccurs,thealarmcanalsobe
silencedforupto8hoursbyashortpresson
theHUSHbutton.Thisfunctioncanonlybe
carriedoutonceduringafault.
Normal mode:
Innormalmode,thePOWERindicator
(GreenLED)willashevery60seconds.
Alarm mode:
WhenadangerousconcentrationofCOis
detected,thealarmwillgointo‘AlarmMode’.
Itwillbeindicatedbyaseriesofrepeated
tonesandtheredLEDwillashevery0.5
seconds.

Test function:
Afterinstallationandatleastonceperquarter,
testyouralarmtomakesureitisoperating
correctly.
Whenthebottombuttonispressedthealarm
willsound,oncethebuttonisreleased,the
alarmwillconductaself-testofthesensor
andbatteryforapproximately9seconds.
DuringthisdelayallthreeLEDswillash
insequence.Theresultofthetestwillbe
indicated once the test is completed.
Ifthetestpasses,thealarmindicationwillbe
triggeredforonesoundsweepandthegreen
LEDwillashfor3seconds.Ifthetestfails,a
faultindicationwillbegiven(Seepage17).
Afterthetestfunctionisperformed,thealarm
willneedtorecoverfor60secondsbefore
another test can be conducted (to allow the
sensor chamber to resettle).
Thealarmwillalsoconductaself-testevery
24hours,whichtestsforafaultysensor,drift
or short circuit.
TIP:Itissafetocoverthesoundoutputhole
withyourngerduringthetestingtominimize
the sound level emitted.

What to do if the alarm sounds:
• Keepcalmandopenalldoorsand
windows.
• Ifthealarmcontinuestobeactivated,then
evacuate the premises.
• Getmedicalhelpforanyonesueringthe
 eectsofcarbonmonoxidepoisoning.
• Calltheappropriateemergencynumber.
Fault warnings:
Batteryfault:Whenthebatteryislowthe
alarmwillbeeponceevery60secondsand
theyellowLEDwillash.
Sensorfault:Sensorfaultisindicatedbytwo
veryshortbeepsevery60secondsandthe
yellowLEDwillash.YourCOalarmwillnot
respond to CO.
Endoflife:Theendofsensorlifeisindicated
bythreeshortbeepsevery60secondsand
theyellowLEDwillash.YourCOalarm
needs to be replaced.
