The CO alarm is designed to be installed on
the wall or a ceiling.
A CO alarm does not replace a smoke alarm.

Hush function:
Hushingofthealarmisonlypossiblewhen
underalevelof200ppm.Ifyoucannot
hushthealarm,pleaserefertopage16for
instructions.
WhenthealarmisunderCOalarmwarning,
itcanbesilencedfor10minutesbypressing
thehushbutton(whichistheentirebottomof
the alarm).
Ifabatteryfaultoccurs,thealarmcanalsobe
silencedforupto8hoursbyashortpresson
theHUSHbutton.Thisfunctioncanonlybe
carriedoutonceduringafault.
Normal mode:
Innormalmode,thePOWERindicator
(GreenLED)willashevery60seconds.
Alarm mode:
WhenadangerousconcentrationofCOis
detected,thealarmwillgointo‘AlarmMode’.
Itwillbeindicatedbyaseriesofrepeated
tonesandtheredLEDwillashevery0.5
seconds.

Test function:
Afterinstallationandatleastonceperquarter,
testyouralarmtomakesureitisoperating
correctly.
Whenthebottombuttonispressedthealarm
willsound,oncethebuttonisreleased,the
alarmwillconductaself-testofthesensor
andbatteryforapproximately9seconds.
DuringthisdelayallthreeLEDswillash
insequence.Theresultofthetestwillbe
indicated once the test is completed.
Ifthetestpasses,thealarmindicationwillbe
triggeredforonesoundsweepandthegreen
LEDwillashfor3seconds.Ifthetestfails,a
faultindicationwillbegiven(Seepage17).
Afterthetestfunctionisperformed,thealarm
willneedtorecoverfor60secondsbefore
another test can be conducted (to allow the
sensor chamber to resettle).
Thealarmwillalsoconductaself-testevery
24hours,whichtestsforafaultysensor,drift
or short circuit.
TIP:Itissafetocoverthesoundoutputhole
withyourngerduringthetestingtominimize
the sound level emitted.

What to do if the alarm sounds:
• Keepcalmandopenalldoorsand
windows.
• Ifthealarmcontinuestobeactivated,then
evacuate the premises.
• Getmedicalhelpforanyonesueringthe
 eectsofcarbonmonoxidepoisoning.
• Calltheappropriateemergencynumber.
Fault warnings:
Batteryfault:Whenthebatteryislowthe
alarmwillbeeponceevery60secondsand
theyellowLEDwillash.
Sensorfault:Sensorfaultisindicatedbytwo
veryshortbeepsevery60secondsandthe
yellowLEDwillash.YourCOalarmwillnot
respond to CO.
Endoflife:Theendofsensorlifeisindicated
bythreeshortbeepsevery60secondsand
theyellowLEDwillash.YourCOalarm
needs to be replaced.

Maintenance:
• Checkifthealarmsoundsandindicators
 ashproperlybypressingtheTEST
 buttonatleastonceperquarter.
• Youralarmshouldbecleanedonceper
 quartertoremovedustanddirt.Itcanbe
 wipedwithadampedcloth.Neveruse
detergents or other solvents to clean the unit.
• Neverattempttodisassembletheunitor
clean inside.
• Commonlyoccurringmaterials,vapoursor
 gasesfromcleaninguids,polishes,paints
 etcmayaectthereliabilityofthealarmin
the short or long term.
• Whenhouseholdcleaningsuppliesor
 similarcontaminantsareused,thearea
should be ventilated.
• Pleasedonotexposetorainormoisture,
 donotknockordropthedetectorand
opening or tampering with the alarm could
 causemalfunction.
Other information:
Donotpaintthealarm.Notethelocalcountry
regulations regarding CO alarms.
Disposal: Please dispose the product
properlyattheendoflife.Thisiselectronic
wastewhichshouldberecycled.

This CAVIUS carbon monoxide (CO) alarm
is designed and tested to detect CO in
private homes, camping trailers, mobile
homes, caravans and boats. It will provide
early warning of the presence of CO.

killer’becauseitisodourless,tastelessand
colourless. It can kill in only a few minutes.
AllpeopleareatriskofCOpoisoning.
Unbornbabies,infantsandchildren,the
elderly,peoplewithchronicheartdisease,
anaemia,orrespiratoryproblemsaregenerally
moreatriskthanothers.
BreathingCOcancauseheadache,dizziness,
vomiting,andnausea.IfCOlevelsarehigh
enough,youmaybecomeunconsciousordie.
