Used properly and carefully, it should give you many years of outstanding musical
reproduction. Please read this operation manual carefully before using it.

Please check the carton carefully whether there is any damage before you open it.
Put it on a flat surface with the arrow upward. Rip away the tape and open the carton,
then you'll find:

One operation manual
: Please fill out your warranty card in time, and hand it in to your dealer
or send it to the sales department of our company to ensure the after-sales service.
Note 1
: Be sure to use at rated voltage. Please check whether the rated voltage
marking on the real panel corresponds to your line voltage. If not, please contact
your dealer.
Please keep the carton and the other wrappings well, perhaps you'll
use them when move the amplifier.

Note: ou need wait for about 30 seconds after turning on the power every once because
the vacuum tubes need preheat.

Please make sure the following preparations are well done before using:
III CONNECTION DIAGRAM
AC Power
1. Before connecting, make sure the power mark on the real panel is same to the
power voltage of your area.
2. Be sure the Power Switch on the front panel of the CDT-17A is tuned off (in the
position).
3.Using the Power Cord (supplied), connect the Power Inlet on the CDT-17A's real
panel to the AC Power Outlet.
4. Press the Power Switch in. The Display will light up, indicating that the CD Player
is turned on.
5. To turn the CD Player off, press the Power Switch again and return it to the
position.
Unplug your CD player when it is not in use for a long period of time.
If you are using a switched outlet to turn on and off your CD Player, you should
leave the Power Switch in the position. When AC Power is applied to the
unit, it will power up in fully active mode.

connect the left channel output of the CDT-17A to the left channel source input on
the amplifier, and then, connect the right channel output of the to the right
channel source input on the amplifier.

.Digital Output
- .The CD -1 A's coaxial digital output jack supplies an unprocessed digital
signal. Using a standard 75 ohm coaxial digital cable, connect the
coaxial output to the coaxial digital input connector on the outboard D/A decoder.
- .Connect the analog output jacks of the D/A decoder to the source input jacks
of an amplifier.
. Connect the supplied power cord to the CD-1 A's power inlet and the AC power
outlet.
Before turning on the unit, be sure you have connected the unit to the other com-
nents correctly.
You can use both the two kinds of output connections or each one.
To prevent loud noises, make sure the CD player is turned off when you make
any signal connection.

2. nalog Outputs balance .
A pair of XLR jacks supplies an analog balance output signal from the CDT 17A
to the source inputs of an audio amplifier or other component Using the balance
cable connect the left channel balance output of the CDT-17A to the left channel
balance source input on the amplifier, and then, connect the right channel balance
output of the CDT-17A to the right channel balance source input on the amplifier.

Using a 110 ohm balance cable connect the AES/EBU output jack of the
CDT-17A to the AES/EBU input jack of the D/A decoder.

IV PRECAUTIONS
Cautions for Safety
Follow these cautions to avoid malfunction or serious damage to the unit.
Disconnect the Power Cord from the AC outlet by pulling the plug, not the cord.
Keep the Power Cord away from heating appliances.
Keep the unit away from sources of liquid.
Do not remove the outer cover.
Do not use the unit if there is lightning. Unplug the Power Cord from the AC
outlet as soon as possible
Place the unit on an even and stable place where is well ventilated.
Do not place the unit in the following places:
In a room exposed to sunlight for a long period time.
Near a strong light source or a heater.
Where there is steam or soot.
Where there is dust or humidity or a strongly magnetized object.
Installation and Handling

Condensation may form in the unit if:
The unit is in a room where the heater has just been turned on.
The unit is in a room with steam or high humidity.
The unit is brought from cold surroundings into a well-heated room.
When condensation has formed inside the unit, place the unit in a dry surrounding
for several hours before using.
Formation of Condensation inside the Unit
Wipe the body and front panel of the unit with a soft, clean cloth.
If you use a chemically treated cloth for cleaning, refer to its notes on use.
For persistent stains, use a soft cloth moistened with mild detergent and water,
and then wipe with a dry cloth.
Cleaning Care
Never use cracked or warped discs.
Since the disc rotates at a high speed, use of cracked or warped ones will damage
the unit.
a strange noise or vibration be heard or occur after starting playback,
immediately press the Open/Close (or / ) Button to stop the disc rotation.
Maintenance
To clean a disc soiled with fingerprints or dust, use a soft and dry cloth.
If the surface is extremely dirty, dip a soft cloth into water and wring the cloth
well before wiping the disc. Then wipe again with a soft and dry cloth.
When wiping discs, always move the cloth from the center hole toward the outer
edge.
Do not use benzene, thinner, or a record cleaner.

If
Stop Open
Before using the Remote Control Unit, it's necessary to install two (R03)
batteries.
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Do not mix new and old batteries, or different brands of batteries.
Remove batteries when this unit is not in use for a long period of time.
Point the Remote Control Unit at the Remote Sensor on the front panel within
about 6 m and within about 30 .
Notes for Remote Control Unit
AAA
When the unit is moved:
Be careful not to drop the unit or subject it to strong shocks.
Make sure that the unit is disconnected from all connection cord.
For a distant transport, wrap it in the original package to prevent it from
scratch.
Keep the unit away from volatile substances. Do not keep the unit touching
rubber or vinyl material for a long period of time.
These materials may cause discoloration and surface damage to the unit.
Do not place anything heavy on the unit.

Press the Power Switch (POWER) on the front panel, the unit will firstly execute
closing disc tray, the display will show Reading TOC , and the unit will do
selfcheck.
Turning on/off the unit
VOPERATION
1.Press the Open/Close Button on the front panel or the Open/Close Button on the
Remote Control Unit, the Disc Tray slides out.
2.Place the compact disc in the Disc Tray label-side up.
3.Press the Open/Close Button on the front panel or the Open/Close Button on the
Remote Control Unit, the Disc Tray is closed.
4.After the Display indicates the number of tracks on the disc and the total time of
the disc, press the Play/Pause Button on the front panel or the Button on the
Remote Control Unit to start playing the disc.
If the Disc Tray is open when you press the Play/Pause Button (or Button), it
will close automatically and start playing.
Normally, the disc will start playing with the first track. However, you can select
a different track using the Skip Buttons or the Number Buttons to start playing a
different selection.
Playback
During playback or in PAUSE mode, press the Stop Button on the front panel or
the Stop Button on the Remote Control Unit to stop a disc that is playing and resets
the player.
Stop
During playback, press the Play/Pause Button on the front panel or the Button
on the Remote Control Unit to interrupt the playback temporarily.
Press the Play/Pause (or ) Button again to resume playback from the position
where PAUSE mode was entered.
Even when the player is in PAUSE mode, the disk motor is still revolving. Since
leaving the player in this condition can shorten the lifetime of the motor, do not
leave the player in PAUSE mode for a long period of time.
Pause
During playback or in STOP mode, you can select a track to play using the Skip
( and ) Buttons or the Number Buttons (Remote only).
Using the Skip Buttons
Press the Button advance the beginning of the next track. If the current
track is the last track, press this button advances to the beginning of the first track.

Do not place any obstacles between the Remote Control Unit and the Remote
Sensor.
Do not expose the Remote Sensor to strong light.

Using the Num er Buttons (Remote only)
Press the Buttons on the Remote Control Unit to directly access a track to
play.
The first nine tracks on a disc can be selected by selected by pressing the corres
ponding button.
When accessing track numbers equal or greater than 10, press the two buttons of
the track numbers in 2 seconds.
For example, to select track 2, press the 2 Button. To select track 12, press the 1
Button and the 2 Button in 2 seconds. After you pressing the 1 Button, CDT-17A will
wait for the second number for 2 seconds. If the second number is not entered in 2
seconds, the first track will be played.
Press the Button to return the beginning of the previous track. If the current
track is the first track, press this button returns to the beginning of the last track.
In PROGRAM mode, the skip Buttons advance or reverse to the next track in
the memorized selection list.
In PAUSE mode, the skip Buttons advance or reverse to the next track is still in
PAUSE mode.

Hold the scan Buttons depressed, playback advances or reverses at high speed.
Hold button depressed for fast-forward operation.
Hold button depressed for fast-reverse operation.
Release the Scan Buttons to start playback at normal speed.
Fast Search (Remote only)
This function allows you to repeat the current track, the memorized program or the
entire disc continuously.
1.During playback, press the Repeat Button once to repeat the current track, the
display will show Repeat One Mode .
2.Press the Repeat Button again to repeat the entire disc, the display will show
Repeat All Mode .
3.Press the Repeat Button a third time to cancel the Repeat function.
Repeat (Remote only)
This function allows you to repeat a specified section. You can select the start point
and the end point of a section in the current track and repeat it continuously.
1.During playback, press the A-B Button at the start point of the section to be
repeated.
2.Press the A-B Button at the end point of the section to be repeated. Playback
returns to the beginning of the section and the section is repeated continuously.
Section Repeat (Remote only)
3.Press the A-B Button a third time to resume the normal playback.
Press RECALL button after stopping, CDT-17A will play from the track stopped
last time.
Recall (Remote only)

This function allows you to memorize some tracks on the current disc for playback
in a specific order.
1.Insert a disc, the CDT-17A will read the contents of the disc, or stop playback of
the current disc.
2.Press the PROG button followed by the track numbers in a specific order, the
display will show Program Tack and 00 -> 00 . Two number before ->
expresses current track selected. Two number after expresses track total
number.
3.After entering all of the track numbers, press the PROG button, your selections
will be memorized automatically. It can be memorized 30 tracks in the CDT-17A.
4.Press the Play/Pause button on the front panel or the Button on the Remote
Control Unit, the memorized program will play.

Program (Remote only)

.During programming, press the 0 button can cancel all the memorized program.
Press SPACE button makes all spacing between tracks the same(4 seconds)
Space (Remote only)

This function allows you to adjust brightness of display window.
Press DISPLAY button every once, the brightness of display window will circularly
change from b to brighter and dim .
The brightness of display automatically is preset bright when turned on.
Brightness Adjusting (Remote only)

During playback, press the MUTE button once, CDT-17A is in mute and has no
output sound signal, the display [MUTE] will flicker.
Press MUTE button again, CDT-17A will return to normal.
Disc playing is normal when mute.
Mute (Remote only)
Press SCAN button, the display will show Introducing , CDT-17A will play
ten seconds of every track from No.1 track.
Scan (Remote only)
Changes the modes of time displayed. The first mode is the amount of elapsed time
played in the current track.The second mode is how much time is left on the current
track. The third mode counts the time remaining on the entire CD. Simply press the
TIME button to switch between modes.
Time (Remote only)
Press RANDOM button once, CDT-17A will play from random track, the display
will show Random Play Mode .
Press RANDOM button again, will return to normal.

This product is warranted for a period of twelve months beginning from the date
of purchase.
To obtain warranty service, the warranty card bearing your dealer's chop or signa
ture must be filled in and returned to your dealer or our company in two weeks from
the date of purchase.
The defective product must be returned to your dealer or our company for repairing
when your dealer or our company accepts your requirement.
The warranty doesn't extend to any product that has been opened by you without
permission of our company.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you have checked everything and the unit is still not working please contact your dealer.

Problem Cause Remedy
Power indicator light does
not come on when power
switch is toggled on.
No power at the receptacle.
Test by plugging in a light
or appliance that you know
works.
The power cord is not
plugged in.
Fuse may be broken.
Check and reset or replace
the appropriate breakers
