Thank you for purchasing the Cayin CS-100CD compact disc player.
Used properly and carefully, it should give you many years of outstanding musical reproduction.
Please read this user manual carefully before using it.
ⅠOPENING THE PACKAGE
Please check the carton carefully whether there are any damages before you open it. Put it on a flat
surface with the arrow upward. Rip away the sealed tape and open the carton, then you’ll find:

ⅡFEATURES
Incorporated two pieces of PCM1792A DAC chip set from TI company for digital filter and D/A
converter. A fully balanced design for the output circuit.
Deploy dedicated, high quality Op-Amp for Low pass Filter circuit and I/V converter circuit.
Deploy four pieces of 6922EH vacuum tubes and audio grade capacitors for audio output. Separate
tube circuit for Balanced and Unbalanced output.
Deploy one 12DT5 for tube regulation so that it can have a superb power supply for the tube audio
circuit.
Versatile digital output and you can select between Optical, Coaxial or AES/EBU digital output.
Deploy USB Audio, Optical, Coaxial or AES/EUB for different input source selection.
Support Coaxial and Optical digital input and it is up to 24 bit/192 kHz.
Employ state of the art high resolution USB Audio technology, will accept and decode Hi-res digital
audio through USB interface and support up to 24 bit/192kHz.
Independent power supply to digital circuit and analogue circuit. Reduce power interference among
different circuit and make sure all components will have clean power all the time.

ⅤCONNECTION DIAGRAM
1. Connect to computer
Connect the USB port to the USB port of the computer with the USB cable which must be
according to the USB2.0 specification. Only the USB port in the rear panel can be used for desktop
computer.
2. Connect to power amplifier
Connect the analog output terminal to the analog input terminal of the power amplifier with audio
cable.
3. Connect to DAC
Connect the COAXIAL output to the COAXIAL input of the DAC with a standard 75 ohm coaxial
digital cable.. Or you can connect the OPTICAL output to the OPTICAL input of the DAC with
optical cable.Or you can connect the AES/EBU output to the AES/EBU input of the DAC with
AES/EBU cable.
4.Connect to Digital Audio Player
Connect the COAXIAL input to the COAXIAL output of the digital audio player like Cayin
N5,N6,i5 etc. with coaxial cable. Or you can connect the OPTICAL input to the OPTICAL output

of the digital audio player with optical cable.
Note: Be sure to use at rated voltage. Please check whether the rated voltage marking on the rear
panel corresponds to your line voltage. If not, please contact your dealer.
CAUTION: Please shut down the power before connections in case of noise and damage to the unit.
You need to wait for about 30 seconds after you turn on the unit every once, because the vacuum
tube need to be preheated.

How to install the batteries.
1. Remove the screws in the bottom cover with a screwdriver and open the bottom cover.
2. Put in two batteries with correct polarity.
3. Close the bottom cover and install the screws with a screwdriver.

Note:
Point the Remote Control Unit at the Remote
Sensor on the front panel within about 8 m and
within about 30.
Do not drop or damp your remote control.
The life of the batteries is about one year. Please
replace the batteries in time.
Do not mix new and old batteries, or different
brands of batteries.
Remove batteries when this unit is not in use
for a long period of time.
We suggest you to use good quality and high-energy batteries.
ⅦINSTALLING DRIVER SOFTWARE
If your computer operation system is Windows, you should install driver to get the function of USB audio
before using it.
1. Connect the computer to the unit with USB cable.
2. Double-click “ ”to run the diver installer,As below:

4. Follow the steps of the installation interface to continue,As below:
5. Click“Next”to install USB Audio 2.0 Class driver.

6. Click“Finish”to complete the installation.
There is no need to install driver software if your computer operation system is Mac.
ⅧOPERATION
1. Turning on/off the unit
Press the Power Switch (POWER) on the front panel, the standby indicator will light, and the unit
will do self-check. After 5 seconds, the unit will enter the standby mode. Press “ ”button on the
front panel or press the “ ” button on the remote control unit, the standby indicator will out, and
the unit will enter the working state. Press “ ”button on the front panel or press the “ ” button
on the remote control unit again, the unit will enter standby state.
The unit has shutdown memory function.
Do not operate during the unit’s self-check.
During playback, If you want to power off, please remember to stop the disc first.
Do not power on and off frequently.
Notes: If you need to power on the unit again after power off, please wait for 5 minutes.
2. Select CD player

1Select CD
Press the “/”button on the front panel or press the “SOURCE” button on the remote control
unit to select CD state. the display will shows .
2Playback
1.Press the “ / ” Button on the front panel or the “ / ” Button on the Remote Control Unit,
the Disc Tray will slide out.
2.Place the compact disc in the Disc Tray label-side up.
3.Press the “ / ” Button on the front panel or the “ / ” Button on the Remote Control Unit,
the Disc Tray will be closed.
4.After the Display indicates the number of tracks on the disc and the total time of the disc, press
the “/”Button on the front panel or the“/”Button on the Remote Control Unit to start
playing the disc.
3Pause
During playback, press the “/”Button on the front panel or the “/”Button on the
Remote Control Unit to interrupt the playback temporarily.
Press the “/”Button again to resume playback from the position where PAUSE mode was
entered.
Even when the player is in PUSE mode, the disk motor is still working. Since leaving the player
in this condition can shorten the lifetime of the motor, do not leave the player in PAUSE mode for a
long period of time.
4Stop
1) During playback or in pause mode, press the“ / ”button on the front panel or the“ / ”
Button on the Remote Control Unit to stop a disc that is playing and resets the player.
5Play the current track
After the unit playback about 5 seconds, press the “”button on the front panel or the“”button on
the remote control unit to restart playback the current track.
6Track search
Using the skip buttons
1) Press the “
” button advances to the beginning of the next track. If the current track is the
last track, press this button advances to the beginning of the first track.
2) Press the “
”button returns to the beginning of the previous track. If the current track is the
first track, press this button returns to the beginning of the last track.
Using the numeric buttons (Remote only)
1) The first nine tracks on a disc can be selected by selected by pressing the corresponding button.

2) When accessing track numbers equal or greater than 10, press the two buttons of the track
numbers in 2 seconds.
For example, to select track 2, press the 2 button. To select track 12, press the 1 button and the 2
button in 2 seconds. After you pressing the 1 button, the unit will wait for the second number for 2
seconds. If the second number is not entered in 2 seconds, the first track will be played.
7Fast forward or fast back (Remote only)
Hold the scan buttons depressed, playback advances or reverses at high speed.
1) Hold “
” button depressed for fast- forward operation.
2) Hold “
” button depressed for fast-reverse operation.
3) Release the scan buttons to start playback at normal speed.
8Repeat (Remote only)
This function allows you to repeat the current track, the memorized program or the entire disc
continuously.
1) During playback, press the “REPEAT” button once to repeat the current track, the display will
show“REPEAT”.
2) Press the “REPEAT” button again to repeat the entire disc, the display will show “REPEAT”.
3) Press the “REPEAT” button a third time to cancel the repeat function.
9Section repeat (Remote only)
This function allows you to repeat a specified section. You can select the start point and the end
point of a section in the current track and repeat it continuously.
1) During playback, press the “A-B” button at the start point of the section to be repeated.
2) Press the “A-B” button at the end point of the section to be repeated. Playback returns to the
beginning of the section and the section is repeated continuously.
3) Press the “A-B” button a third time to resume the normal playback.
4) During stop, this function cannot be used.
10 Recall (Remote only)
Press “RECALL” button after stopping, the unit will play from the track stopped last time.
11 Random (Remote only)
1) Press “RANDOM”button once, the unit will play from random track, the display will show “SHUFFLE”.
2) Press “RANDOM”button again, the unit will return to normal.
12 Program (Remote only)
1) Press the “PROG” button followed by the track numbers in a specific order, the display will
show “PROG” and “ ”. Two number before “P” expresses current track selected. Two

number after “P” expresses track total number.
2) After entering all of the track numbers, press the “PROG” button, your selections will be
memorized automatically.

”button on the front panel or press the “

”button on the remote control
unit, the memorized program will play.
To stop program play, Press the “ / ” button during program playback.
1 During programming, press the “0” button on the Remote Control Unit can cancel all the
memorized program.
13 Scan (Remote only)
Press “SCAN” button, the display will show “SCAN”, the unit will play ten seconds of every track
from No.1 track.
Press the “/”button on the Remote Control Unit to cancel the scan function.
14 Time (Remote only)
Changes the models of time displayed. The first model is the amount of elapsed time played in the
current track. The second model is how much time is left on the current track. The third mode counts
the time remaining on the entire CD. Simply press the TIME button to switch between these models.
3. Select USB audio
1Connect the USB port to the USB port of the computer with the USB cable which must be
according to the USB2.0 specification. the display will shows .
2In no disc state, press the “

”button on the front panel or press the “SOURCE” button on
the remote control unit to select USB, the display will show “USB”, USB input indicator will
turn on.
3Select the USB audio device of the computer as CS-100CD Output, and keep it in working state.

unit can show the sample frequency. The sample frequency should be 44.1-192kHz.
4.Coaxial input
1) Connect coaxial input terminal to the device which has coaxial output terminal, like CD Players,
with the coaxial cable.
2)Press the “/”button on the front panel or press the “SOURCE” button on the remote control
unit to enter the coaxial input interface. At the moment, the display will shows .
3)Press the “”or“”button on the front panel or press the “”or“”button on the remote control
unit can show the sample frequency. The sample frequency should be 44.1-192kHz.
5. Optical input
1) Connect optical input terminal to the device which has optical output terminal, like CD Players,
with the optical cable.
2) Press the “/”button on the front panel or press the “SOURCE” button on the remote control

unit to enter the optical input interface. At the moment, the display will shows .
3)Press the “”or“”button on the front panel or press the “”or“”button on the remote control
unit can show the sample frequency. The sample frequency should be 44.1-192kHz.
6.Brightness adjusting (Remote only)
This function allows you to adjust brightness of display window.
Press “DISPLAY” button every once, the brightness of display window will circularly change from “bright” to
“brighter” and “dim”.
ⅨMaintenance
1.The unit has laser system. In order to prevent the hurt from laser radiation directly, please do not
take the CD player apart.
2.Please unplug USB cable when you don’t need to use USB Audio.
3.Please comply with this user manual during your operation.
4.You do not need to adjust any parts on this unit.
5.Place the unit on an even and stable place that is well ventilated.
6.Please unplug the power line if you don’t need to use the unit for a long time.
7.Be careful not to drop the unit or subject to other strong shocks
In a room exposed to sunlight for a long period time.
Near a strong light source or a heater.
Where there is steam or soot.
Where there is dust or humidity or a strongly magnetized object.
8. Do not place anything heavy on the unit.
9.Condensation may form in the unit if:
The unit is in a room where the heater has just been turned on.
The unit is in a room with steam or high humidity.
The unit is brought from cold surroundings into a well-heated room.
If condensation has formed inside the unit, place the unit in a dry surrounding for several hours
before using it.
Wipe the body and front panel of the unit with a soft, clean cloth. Please do not use volatile solution
for cleaning.
The unit should be used in non-tropical climate area, and the altitude should < 2000m
There should be some space between AC INPUT and the surrounding so as to plug and unplug the
power line.
ⅩPrecaution
1.The unit support CD/CD-R. We suggest you to use genuine disc.
2.Please keep the disc surface cleaning, and avoid hands touch the surface directly.

3.When you wipe discs, Please move the cloth from the center hole toward the outer edge.
4.If a strange noise or vibration be heard or occur after starting playback, immediately press the
Open/Close (or Open/Stop) Button to stop the disc rotation.
5.Please take out the disc from the disc tray when you do not need to use it.
ⅪSafety Instruction
Anti-electric shock sign: Risk of electric shock, do not open.
With high voltage, may cause man-made electric shock.
The unit has important operation and maintain instruction.
ⅫTROUBLESHOOTING
If you have checked everything and the unit is still not working, please contact your dealer.
