Follow these 4 steps to complete the basic system set-up.
1. Extending the FM antenna

2. Connecting the main unit to power
This system is designed to operate on DC 12V, 1,ooomA current.
Connecting this system to any other power supply could result in
damage to the unit which is not covered by your warranty.
NOTE: This is a safety feature to reduce the possibility of electrical shock.
You should have your outdated outlets changed by a qualied, licensed
electrician. Do not le the wide blade on the plug, or use an adapter to make
the plug t into your outlet. This defeats the safety feature and could expose
you to electrical shock.

3. Installing the battery into the remote
Insert one CR2025 battery into the
remote control observing the correct
(+) and (-) polarities as shown.
4. Installing batteries into the unit
Insert 8 size C 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment at the back of the
unit, observing the correct (+) and (-) polarities.
5. Power on the main unit
Press the STANDBY / button.
The main display briey shows “(0:00)”.
Refer to page 12 for setting the clock.

General controls
Most of the main functions of this system can be operated by the controls on the
front panel of the main unit, or by the buttons on the remote control handset. If
a specic function can only be operated by the remote handset, or by the front
panel controls, this will be clearly indicated in the instructions.
When operating this system with the remote control handset, make sure that
the IR (infrared) transmitter on the front of the remote handset is pointed at the
remote sensor on the front panel of the main unit.
The effective operating range of the remote control is approximately 4.5m (15
feet). Please note that bright sunlight or room lighting may interfere with the
remote control operation. If the remote is not operating properly, try reducing the
brightness of the room or moving closer to the main unit. If this does not solve
the problem, it may be time to change the battery in the remote control.

1. Volume controls
TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE SYSTEM VOLUME
Press the or buttons on the remote control
or adjust using the volume control VOL-/VOL+
on the front panel.
The Volume Level indicator will appear on the display when you adjust
the volume level. The level indicator ranges from 00 (MIN) to 40 (MAX).
2. DBBS (Dynamic Bass Boost, on remote control only)
Press the DBBS button on the remote control to increase the bass
response “BASS” will appear at the right corner of the display.
Press again to cancel the Bass Boost function.
MUTE BUTTON (on remotrol control only)
Press the MUTE button on the remote control to shut off the speakers
temporarily.
The sound stops and the “MUTE” indicator
will show on the display.
Press the MUTE button again to cancel the mute function and restore
the sound. The “MUTE” indicator disappears. The mute function can also
be cancelled by pressing the or buttons.

Using the iPod Dock, you can play music from the iPod®through the unit’s
speakers and operate with the remote control. The unit comes with eight
removable dock adapters to ensure the proper t for your iPod®and to help
reduce stress on the connector when operating the iPod®.
When connecting an iPod® to this iPod Dock, please ensure
that the correct dock adapter is used.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO YOUR iPod®
1. Docking your iPod®
1. Refer to the compatability table on page 10, and select the correct
dock adapter for your iPod®.
2. Place the dock adapter in the dock and press into position.
The adapter will only t in one way.
3. Carefully align and gently insert the iPod® into the dock.
Remove any case or skin from the iPod® before attempting to dock.
4. Press the FUNCTION button on the main unit or on the remote control
to switch to iPod® mode.
5. Use the remote control to operate the iPod® as follows;
To enter the main menu Press the MENU button
To scroll Press the PRE+/PRE- button
To choose an item Press the OK button
Play or Pause a song Press the PLAY/PAUSE button
Adjust the volume Press the or button
Skip to the next song Press the NEXT button

NOTE:
The iPod battery will charge whenever the iPod is docked and the unit is powered on.
The unit CANNOT charge the iPod with the battery only.
The unit CAN support iPod® nano (4th generation) and iPod touch (2nd generation) but
dock adapters are not included.

Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until the main
display shows “RADIO”. FM frequency will appear on
the display.
Tune to the desired station by adjusting the TUNING knob.
FM STEREO SIGNAL IS INDICATED BY THE ((ST)) INDICATOR.
If the FM Stereo signal is noisy or weak, press the
MO./ST button on the remote control to select FM
mono mode.

1. Setting the clock
When the AC power is connected, “0:00” will appear on the display.
The clock can only be set while the unit is off.
Press the CLOCK SET. button on unit or remote control and “24H” will be shown.
Press the or buttons to change the hour format in 12 or 24HR mode.
Press the CLOCK SET. button to conrm and the hour
digit will start ashing.
Press the or buttons to adjust the hour .
Press the CLOCK SET. button to conrm.
The minute digits begin to ash.
Press the or buttons to adjust the minutes.
Press the CLOCK SET. button to conrm.
2. Setting the timer
This system includes a Sleep Timer that provides 15 to 120 minutes of music
and then shuts the power off automatically.
TO OPERATE THE SLEEP TIMER:
Turn the system on and operate as usual.
Press the SLEEP button on the unit or remote control.
The display will show “120” indicating that the sleep
timer will shut the power off after “120” minutes.
Press the SLEEP button to decrease the amount of
sleep timer as shown below
“SLEEP” will remain on the display to show that the sleep function is activated.
NOTE:
You can shut the unit off manually before the
Sleep Timer counts down to “00” by pressing the
STANDBY/ button at any time.
Press the SLEEP button at any time to show you the time
remaining before the unit turns off.

3. Alarm Function
In STANDBY mode, press the ALARM1 button
on the remote control for two seconds. “AL1”
and “buzzer icon” will appear on the display.
The hour digit will ash as shown.
Press the PREVIOUS/NEXT button on the remote
control to adjust the hours.
Press the ALARM1 button to conrm.
The minute will ash next.
Press the PREVIOUS/NEXT button on the remote control to adjust the minutes.
Press ALARM1 button to conrm.
4. Alarm Source
In STANDBY mode, press the ALARM1 button on the remote control, “AL1”
and “buzzer icon” will appear on the display.
Press the ALARM1 button repeatedly to choose between the alarm sources
shown below:
If no iPod® has been inserted, but iPod®mode has been chosen as the alarm
source, the buzzer sound will alarm instead.
5. Snooze
Press the SNOOZE button during the alarm
to mute the sound for 9 minutes temporarily.
The alarm will keep working for 60 minutes and
the SNOOZE button can be used continually within
this period. “SNZ” will appear on the display and “AL1” will keep ashing.
6. Alarm ON/OFF
Press the ALARM1 button or the STANDBY button to stop the alarm on this
day. It will turn on again the next day. To deactivate the alarm function, press
the ALARM1 button repeatedly until the “AL1” icon and the chosen source
icon disappears. ALARM2 works the same way as ALARM1.

7. Stereo headphone jack
This system includes a HEADPHONE jack (12) on the front panel of the unit.
You may connect a set of headphones (not included) to this jack for private
listening without disturbing others.
The main speakers are automatically turned off when the headphones
are connected to the headphone jack. Make sure that the plug from your
headphones is fully inserted into the headphone jack. If the plug is not fully
inserted the sound may be intermittent, or you may only hear sound from one
side of the headphones.
IMPORTANT: to prevent hearing damage always set the volume control to a
low level before you connect the headphones. Then connect the headphones,
put them on, and gradually increase the volume to a comfortable listening level.
8. AUX IN
You can listen to the sound from an external audio source through the AUX
IN jack (11).
1. Switch the function to AUX IN, the display will show “AUX”.
2. Connect the external audio source through the 3.5mm AUX IN jack (11),
located on the front panel of the unit.
9. Care and maintenance
Careofthecabinet
If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any
wax, polish sprays, or abrasive cleaners on the cabinet.
Caution
Never allow water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.
