Troubleshooting & errors:
E9/EA Error –
This is the most common error that occurs on the CS250 and
usually means one of two things:
1) A foreign coin or object has become jammed inside the
machine. Unplug the machine and remove the three
screws along the base of it. Ease the top off the machine
and remove any jams that occurred inside.
2) The machine hasn’t been cleaned regularly and a
significant amount of dirt has accumulated putting stress
on the internal motor, causing it to jam. Carry out the
“Regular maintenance” on the previous page, thoroughly
cleaning the machine. If this does not resolve the error,
the machine may need a deeper cleaning. Please contact

E1 to E8 Error, Continuous incrimination of a denomination –
The number here relates to the coin denomination, E1
meaning 1c through to E8 meaning €2. This error appears if
there is an obstruction or a problem with the particular pair of
sensors. Unplug and remove the top off the machine. Locate
the hole where the denomination in question passes through.
Inside this hole are two sensors, one across from the other.
Make sure there is no debris, or dirt blocking the sensors.
Something as thin as a strand of hair can cause problems
with the two sensors. Clean the sensors with a damp cloth
and allow to dry before turning back on.

Do NOT place foreign coins or objects in the CS250.

Instructions:
Before placing your loose coins into the machine hopper,
check it thoroughly for foreign coins, paper clips and
anything that may cause an obstruction inside the machine.
Place your coins in the hopper and press “Start/Resume”. The
machine will pause at the earliest of reaching the pre-
programmed batch limit, or completing the count.
If the machine pauses at reaching the batch limit, the
denomination value will appear on the screen prompting you
to place the contents of that cup into a moneybag. Once
emptied, replace the cup and press “Start/Resume”.
When the count completes, the display will show the total
value of the count. By pressing the “Report” button, you can
cycle through the different denominations of coin. Beside
each denomination, the total number of that particular
denomination counted will be shown.
Setting the batch:
Press “SET”. Screen displays coin denomination. The
first denomination shown is “2.00” for €2.
Press “BAT” until the correct batch amount is displayed
(e.g. 25 for €2 as 25 coins go in each €2 bag).
Press SET to save setting and move onto the next
denomination (e.g. “1.00” for €1).
Repeat steps until all denominations are set
Press START to return to main screen
Regular & preventative maintenance:
Coins carry a huge amount of dirt and dust making it is crucial
that this machine is properly maintained. This machine should
be cleaned after every two – three uses as dust and dirt can
build up, putting a strain on the internal motors and blocking
the counting sensors.
To clean the machine:
Unplug the machine at the mains.
Using a Philips head screwdriver, remove the three
screws from around the base of the machine and gently
ease the top off the machine.
Remove any dust of debris from the mechanism of the
machine using a small brush or a vacuum cleaner.
Using a damp cloth, wipe any remaining dirt away from
the mechanism. Be sure to move the mechanism around
to clean in between the coin slots.
The holes (8 in total) where each coin drops into its
respective cup contain two sensors each, facing each
other. These are more awkward to reach but should also
be wiped free of any dust, which has accumulated.
