Description
The HT100 Cargo Transporter is designed to be towed by a suitable 4x4 or ATV, for moving a range of materials. Phenolic resin flooring and a
strong steel chassis, combined with pivoting axles allow for use over rough and arduous conditions.
The HT100 is a trailed attachment, attaching to the towing vehicle with a 50mm ball hitch connection with integral overturn safety swivel hitch.
The tailgate can be folded down for use as a ramp, or alternatively can be remove completely if desired. Tie-down points are included both
within the body and on the external sides.
These machines should however only be used to perform tasks for which they were designed - use of the machine for any other function may be
both dangerous to persons, and potentially damaging to components. Use of the machine beyond the stated usage may invalidate any applicable
warranty, as well as being potential in breach of applicable safety regulations.
Note: This machine is for off-road use only and is not designed or approved for highway travel
Identification
Each machine is fitted with a serial plate (shown below) which details the
following:

Machine Operation
Loading
CAUTION: THE HT100 IS DESIGNED TO TAKE A MAXIMUM LOAD OF 850KG
OVERLOADING WILL LEAD TO PREMATURE MACHINE FAILURE OR IN-OPERABLE USE
1. Load in a safe manner and do not overfill trailer based on operating limits of towing vehicle and trailer.
2. Loads must be distributed evenly across the trailer.
3. Ensure load is suitable secured with restraint equipment (as applicable) and tailgate latch(s) are secured before moving off.
Unloading
1. Make sure the unloading area is safe and clear prior to unloading
2. Unloading the trailer evenly to prevent risk of damage to the trailer, towing vehicle or risk overturning.
3. Ensure tailgate latches are secured once unloading is finished.
Maintenance
All maintenance, cleaning and repair operations must be performed with the machine suitably supported and in a safe environment. If the body
is raised then it is essential that it is suitably propped before working between the body and chassis.

Storage
The HT100 should always be stored under cover to prolong the life of the trailer. It is advisable to wash the trailer before storage, allowing to
dry naturally in the sun (if possible), prior to storing under cover.
If being stored outside for an extended period or if rain is expected, the trailer should be sited such that the water can drain freely out of the rear
of the trailer. Storing the trailer with the hitch on the ground or facing downhill will allow water to pool in the body which will significantly reduce
the life of the trailer and flooring.
Tyres
Tyres should be maintained at the pressure shown below:
WAT 22118 0.48 Bar [7psi]
When replacing tyres ensure the same size and load rating are used. Punctures should be inspected and repaired by a suitably qualified

Page 5
English
distributor – not all punctures can be repaired and in some cases the tyre may need to be replaced.
Wheel Nuts
Wheel nuts (4 outer nuts retaining the wheel to the green adaptor plate) should be checked daily for tightness and if required torqued to 37Nm.
Hub adaptor bolts (4 inner bolts retaining the green adaptor plate to the hub) should be checked for tightness and if required torqued to 65Nm.
Lighting
Check lighting function daily before use. Problems with lights are generally caused by dirt or moisture ingress into the plug / socket, or damage to
the cable between the trailer & towing vehicle. Inspect all daily for damage and repair as necessary.
Axle Condition & Grease Points
Axles should be checked for excessive play and wear as per the maintenance schedule. To check for play, lift the trailer using a jack or similar
such that axles are off the ground. Ensure that the trailer is suitably supported using axle stands of equivalent and push one die of the axle beam
towards or away from the body. If play is felt or observed, in the first instance tighten the retaining nut at the rear of the pivot point to take up
any slack. If the night is tight and the slack cannot be accommodated then replacement of the bushes may be necessary, please contact your
distributor for this.
If axle condition is acceptable then grease the following points using lithium-based grease with NLGI 2 viscosity grease suitable for the expected
temperature range as per the maintenance schedule:
Recommended Grease
The recommended grease to maintain the maximum operating temperature range of -40°C to 55°C is:
Castrol Optitemp LG2
Wheel Bearing Condition
Wheel bearings should be checked for excessive wear as per the maintenance schedule.
Raise each axle to be inspected off the ground such that it can rotate freely. Support with axles stands or similar such that inspection can safely
be carried out. With the tyre on try to twist the tyre and feel for play or movement within the hub – there should be only a minor amount of play,
enough that the wheel can rotate freely. Rotate the tyre and feel for bearing smoothness – the tyre should rotate easily and come to a natural
stop. Any noise or uneven rotation would suggest bearing wear or damage.

Page 6
English
If required replace the bearing unit within the hub.
Washing
Regular washing with water and mild detergent will prolong the life of the trailer and components. This is particularly important if the trailer is
used on salt-treated roads, in coastal areas, is heavily soiled or is used to carry corrosive substances such as fertilisers or explosives. In these
cases the trailer should be thoroughly washed down after use and allowed to dry naturally.
If heavy soiling is experienced, washing intervals should be reduced accordingly. Likewise if salts or aggressive chemicals are encountered, the
washing interval should be reduced accordingly to a maximum interval of 3 months.
If using a pressure washer, care should be taken to avoid panel edges and electrical components at close range or for extended periods. Any
damage that may result from the use of high pressure water should be immediately rectified to ensure continued serviceability.
Additives intended to brighten aluminium, generally containing phosphoric acid, should not be used as they will damage the zinc plated
components. Traffic film remover should not be used.
Flooring
The phenolic resin wooden flooring panels used on the CT100 are designed to last for around 10 years with minimal maintenance
Generally, if the panels are undamaged and the trailer is regularly washed and stored under cover, the flooring does not require maintenance. If
the floor is damaged or marked such that water can enter the plywood, over time this can cause delamination. In this instance the damage
should be sealed with a waterproof flexible epoxy-based sealant (for shallow marks) or a waterproof isocyanate based silicone sealant (for deep
gouges).
Always park the trailer outside with hitch uphill or raised such that water can drain freely – failure to do so may reduce the life of the flooring due
to water ingress.
Trailer steelwork and chassis
The steelwork and chassis on the HT100 is manufactured from various grades of mild steel, which is fully shot blasted to SA2.5 surface roughness,
prior to application of 2 coats of RAL6003 30% matt finish polyester powder applied paint to a mean DFT of 100 microns (Qualicoat approval
number: P-1483 Matt).
In order to maintain the coating design life of 10 years it is imperative that;
- The machine is stored in the recommended manner
- The machine is washed as per the schedule (or more frequently if heavily soiled)
- Any the damage is inspected and repaired on at least an annual basis.
Any scratches or damage which breaks the protective paint barrier and exposes the underlying base material need to be repaired.
Repair Procedure
1. Thoroughly clean the affected area by washing with a mild detergent. Allow to dry fully.
2. If solvents are required to be used to remove marks, ensure only isopropyl alcohol is used. Solvents containing esters, ketones or
chlorinated solvents will damage the paint.
3. If required abrading may be done using a 400 grit rubbing down paper over the affected area. If paint has been chipped edges need to
be feathered to ensure consistent paint adhesion.
4. Remove any dust from rubbing down, applying a light single pack aerosol applied primer paint (cellulose based) if the affected area is
more than 50mm across.
5. Once prepared and primed (if necessary), apply 3 lights coats of single pack aerosol applied paint (cellulose based) in colour RAL6003,
allowing to dry naturally between coats. Isocynate-based two pack polyurethane paint can be used although this is generally not
practical unless for large areas – for most minor repairs single pack cellulose paint is preferable.
