7/16 inch wrench
Velocity®Workstation — Assembly Instructions
This manual contains basic guidelines for the initial assembly of the Velocity® Workstation. Refer to it often
to be certain that all components are installed correctly and all wiring is accurate.
IMPORTANT: Before starting the assembly process, remove keys (and cable harness) from top of work-
station and remove all components from the drawers and compartments.
Tools Required: 7/16” Wrench
1. Attach power cord brackets to back of
workstation. (Figure 1.)
2. Attach monitor / keyboard platform to top of
workstation. (Figure 2.) Use mounting holes
that will position keyboard at front edge of
workstation.
3. Remove adhesive tape from wrist pad and
place on mounting platform at front of work-
station. Position mouse pad to “right” or “left”
side of wrist pad. (Figure 3.)

4. Position keyboard on mounting platform and
route cord through hole at rear of workstation.
(Figure 4.)
5. Align monitor base with holes in bottom of
monitor and snap the components together.
(Figure 5.)
6. Position monitor on mounting platform and
slide monitor base as far forward as possible.
(Figure 6.)
7. Slide mounting bracket firmly against rear of
monitor base and secure bracket to platform
using 71/16 inch bolts. (Figure 7.)

8. Connect power cable to rear of monitor
(Figure 8) and route monitor signal cable
through hole at rear of workstation (Figure 9).
9. Position mouse on pad (Figure 10) and route
USB cable through hole at rear of workstation
(Figure 11).
10. Cut double-sided tape (Figure 12) and attach
tape to side of each speaker (Figure 13) and
to mounting locations on monitor. Then
remove the paper backing.
NOTE: Cut tape to match height of speaker.
11. Attach speakers to sides of monitor (Figure
14) and route speaker cable and electrical
cord through hole at rear of workstation.
(Figures 15 and 16.)
NOTE: Speaker with volume control should be
on left side of monitor when facing
front of workstation.

12. Place computer in workstation being careful
to lift it over bracket at bottom of compart-
ment. (Figure 17.) Adjust position of bracket
as needed to accomodate length of comput-
er. (Figure 18.)
13. Open workstation’s rear panel and secure
monitor signal cable. (Figure 19.) Also,
attach speaker plug to center jack. (Figure
20.)
15. Secure keyboard cable to rear of computer
(Figure 23) and attach power cable to outlet
at top of unit (Figure 24).
14. Attach RS232 Cable (scanner cable) (Figure
21) and secure mouse USB cable in vertical
slot (Figure 22).

16. Attach opposite end of computer power cord
to electrical powerstrip on rear panel. (Figure
25.)
17. Place printer on slide out tray (Figure 26) and
install the printer cartridges. Follow instruc-
tions provided with the printer and the car-
tridges.
18. Attach power cord to rear of printer (Figure
27) and attach USB cable to rear of printer
(Figure 28).
NOTE: Attachment to printer’s multi-pin con-
nection is not required.

19. Secure printer USB cable in vertical slot next
to mouse USB cable. (Figure 29.)
20. Secure printer power cord to power strip on
rear panel. (Figure 30.)
21. Secure all loose cables in workstation with a
plastic tie. (Figure 31.) Also, re-insert cable
harness in hole on top of workstation. (See
inset.)
22. Close rear panel and attach Velocity power
cable. (Figure 32.) Engage its wire support to
prevent accidental removal.

23. Insert receptacle tester into electrical outlet
where Velocity system will be used. (Figure
33.) Follow instructions packaged with tester
to ensure a proper ground.
24. If the electrical test was satisfactory, plug the
Velocity system into the wall outlet. (Figure
34.)
25. Push the power switch located on worksta-
tion’s rear panel. (Figure 35.)
26. Push computer’s “on” button. (Figure 36.)

27. Push printer’s “on” button. (Figure 37.)
28. Push monitor’s “on” button. (Figure 38.)
29. Attach body scanner cable to end of scanner
(Figure 39) and to back panel of workstation.
(Figure 40.) Cable end with cylindrical RFI
suppressor must be attached to the scanner.
NOTE: Figure 40 inset shows cable attach-
ment to 'loop back' test port for
diagnostic purposes.

30. Operate scanner using “on”/”off” switch
(Figure 41) and store scanner as shown
when it is not in use (Figure 42).

31. Insert nylon bolt clips in drawer as shown.
(Figure 43.)
32. Insert threaded bolt attachments in holes next
to nylon bolt clips. (Figure 44.)
33. Insert magnetic bolt attachments in the
remaining holes making sure their numbers
match the numerical references in the tray.
(Figure 45.)
34. Place Velocity owners / parts manual binder at
rear of drawer. (Figure 46.)

IMPORTANT: If additional magnetic attachments
are to be stored at the rear of this drawer,
switch this drawer with the middle left hand
drawer.
