1. FUNKTIONEN

Alle CHRIS BENZ DEEP - Modelle haben die gleichen, folgend aufgeführten Funktionen:
Der Taucherring (Lünette) ist eine wichtige Vorrichtung zum Ablesen und Kontrollieren der
Tauchzeit. Zur erhöhten Sicherheit ist die Lünette nur gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehbar!
Die verschließbare Krone ist durch Dichtungsringe gesichert und garantieren die Wasser-
dichtigkeit bei geschlossener Krone. Durch die Krone lassen sich Uhrzeit und Datum auf
schnellstem Wege einstellen.
Die am Uhrenarmband aufgedruckte Dekotabelle hilft dem Taucher beim Einhalten
der Dekompressionspausen - ersetzt aber nicht den Tauchcomputer.
Das Saphirglas, mit dem Härtegrad 9, bietet quasi
lebenslangen Schutz gegen Kratzer.
Alle CHRIS BENZ DEEP Modelle sind durch O-Ringe (Dichtungen), verschraubte
Kronen und Gehäuseböden bis mind. 50bar (500m) wasserdicht.
2. ZUR BEACHTUNG BEIM GEBRAUCH

Überprüfen Sie vor jedem Tauchgang ob die Krone
hineingedrückt und fest verschraubt ist.
Waschen Sie die Uhr nach dem Tauchen im Salzwasser gut mit Süsswasser
ab um Flugrostbildung zu verhindern. Trocknen Sie die Uhr im Anschluss.
Wenn die Außentemperatur niedriger ist als im Inneren der Uhr kann das Glas beschlagen. Wenn
sich der Beschlag sofort wieder auflöst, besteht kein Problem. Sollte dies nicht der Fall sein, lassen
Sie die Uhr bitte beim Fachhändler überprüfen.
Die Uhr ist mit Dichtungen gegen Schmutz, Staub, Wasser, etc. ausgstattet. Um deren Funktion
zu gewährleisten, lassen Sie diese bitte regelmäßig (ca. alle 2-3 Jahre) bei einem Fachhändler
überprüfen und ggf. austauschen.
Wenn das Band Risse aufweist, lassen Sie es bitte unverzüglich tauschen.
Vermeiden Sie starke Schläge.
Vermeiden Sie es die Uhr extremer Sonneneinstrahlung und Hitze auszusetzen.
Dies kann die Funktion beeinträchtigen.

Die Krone des CHRIS BENZ DEEP 500M Chronograph ist verschraubt und muss erst gelöst werden, um
Einstellungen vornehmen zu können! Bitte die Krone nicht im Wasser oder wenn die Uhr nass ist bedie-
nen. Die Uhr ist nur wasserdicht, wenn die Krone verschraubt und somit richtig verschlossen ist.

3. EINSTELLEN VON UHRZEIT UND DATUM
EINSTELLUNG DER ZEIT:
EINSTELLUNG DES KALENDERS:
Ziehen Sie die Krone auf die erste Position heraus (1).
Durch drehen der Krone bitte gewünschten Wochentag und Datum einstellen.
Nachdem Sie die Zeit und den Kalender korrekt eingestellt haben, bitte die
Krone in Ausgangsstellung hineindrücken und sicher verschrauben.
HINWEIS: Verstellen Sie Tag und Datum nicht, wenn sich die Zeiger zwischen
21 und 4 Uhr befinden, da diese dann eventl. nicht richtig wechseln.
Ziehen Sie die Krone auf die zweite Position heraus (2).
Durch drehen der Krone bitte Minuten-und Stundenzeiger
auf die gewünschte Zeit einstellen.
Die Krone wieder in ihre Ausgangsstellung hineindrücken.

4. DIE FUNKTION DES REGISTERRINGES (LÜNETTE)

4. DIE FUNKTION DES REGISTERRINGES (LÜNETTE)
Mit dem Registerring können Sie schnell und einfach die vergangene Tauchzeit
sowie die noch zur Verfügung stehende Tauchzeit und somit ihre Tauchdauer
feststellen.
BESTIMMUNG DER VERGANGENEN ZEIT:
Stellen Sie die Null-Position der Lünette (gekennzeichnet mit einem Leuchtpunkt) auf
den Minutenzeiger und lesen Sie die vergangene Zeit auf dem Registerring ab.
BESTIMMUNG DER NOCH ZUR VERFÜGUNG STEHENDEN ZEIT:
Stellen Sie die Null-Position auf eine Wunschzeit und lesen
Sie die verbleibende Zeit auf der Lünette ab.

6. DAS HELIUMVENTIL
Das Heliumventil leitet eindringende Heliumatome automatisch nach außen. Dadurch wird der
Aufbau von Innendruck verhindert, welcher im schlimmsten Fall dazu führt, dass das Glas heraus-
gepresst wird. Der automatisch durchgeführte Druckausgleich erfolgt, sobald Druck innerhalb der
Uhr ca. 5 bar übersteigt. Das Heliumventil ist nur für Druckkammerfahrten oder andere trockene
Überdruckbedingungen (Tunnelbau) zu benutzen.
Bei der CHRIS BENZ DEEP 500M Chronograph befindet sich das Heliumventil links außen
innerhalb des Uhrengehäuses und bedarf sonst keinerlei Mehraufwendungen.

7. DAS AUTOMATIKLAUFWERK
Beim Automatikuhrwerk entfällt die Batterie. Hier erfolgt
der Antrieb über die Armbewegung. Bei abgelegter Uhr
beträgt die Gangreserve bis zu 36 Std.. Diese ist jedoch
abhängig von der vorherigen Tragezeit.
HINWEIS: Sie sollten die Uhr alle 5-6 Jahre bei ihrem CHRIS BENZ Fachhändler warten lassen.

die Uhr manuell aufziehen.

8. DER TACHYMETER
Der Tachymeter wird genutzt, um bei einer festen be-
kannten Streckenlänge (z.b. 1 km) mittels der Zeiger die
Geschwindigkeit anhand der Skala abzuschätzen, mit der
sich ein Objekt bewegt oder ein Vorgang stattfindet.
Ein Fahrzeug legt einen Kilometer in 40 Sekunden
zurück (1). Welche Geschwinigkeit hat er?
Aktivieren Sie die Stoppuhr (siehe Kapitel 5) und
stoppen Sie nach 1km. Jetzt können Sie den Wert
einfach von ihrer Tachymeterskala ablesen (2).

Die Geschwindigkeit beträgt 90km/h, da der Kilometer
40 Mal in eine Stunde (3600 Sekunden) passt.

Effektiver Temperaturbereich: -10°C bis +60°C
Wenn Sie die Uhr längere Zeit nicht benutzen, reinigen Sie diese
bitte gründlich von Schmutz, Schweiss und Feuchtigkeit.
Zum Reinigen der Uhr benutzen Sie einfach leicht seifiges Wasser
und eine Zahnbürste.

Auf dem Kautschukarmband der CHRIS BENZ
Modelle sind die dekompressionsfreien Bereiche
gemäß dem „American Navy Diving Manual“
aufgedruckt.
Die Nullzeit ist beim Tauchen mit Druckluft-
tauchgerät die durch die Dekompressionstabelle
vorgegebene Zeitspanne, in der man ohne
Dekompressionsstopp (zeitliches Verharren in
einer bestimmten Tiefe) an die Wasseroberfläche
zurückkehren kann. Je tiefer man taucht, desto
kürzer ist die Nullzeit.
HINWEIS: Diese Werte gelten nur als
Richtlinie und ersetzen keinen Tauch-
computer!
BEISPIEL (1): Tiefe 27 Meter = 30 Minuten Auf-
enthalt ohne Dekompression

1. SPECIAL FEATURES
This CHRIS BENZ DEEP model has the following, special features:

The register ring (bezel) is an important tool for reading and controlling your diving time.
For greater accuracy the register ring can be moved only counter-clockwise!
The screw lock crown is secured by gaskets. This watch is only water-resistant
if the crown is closed! With the crown you can set the time and calendar quickly.
The „no decompression limits chart“ is imprinted on your rubber strap. this
table helps you plan for correct decompression but don´t replaces your diving computer.
The sapphire glass is scratch-resistant and has a hardness-grade of 9
which equals that of a sapphire jewel!
All CHRIS BENZ DEEP models are water-resistant for up to 50 bar (500m)
thanks to of the gaskets and the screw-lock crown.
2. CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF WATCH

Clean the watch properly with freshwater after diving in saltwater to avoid
rust. Dry the watch after cleaning.
The watch is equipped with gaskets to avoid dirt, dust, water, etc.. Please check
the gaskets regularly (every 2-3 years) at an official dealer and change them
immediately if necessary.
Please change the strap when cracks appear.
Avoid major impacts.
Please check that the crown is securely closed before every single dive.
If the outdoor temperature is lower than that of the inside of the watch, the glass
can show signs of condensation. If the fogging clears soon after there is no problem.
Please contact an official dealer if the clouding does not disappear.
Exposure to extreme temperatures (direct sunlight etc.)
could negatively influence functions.

3. SETTING THE TIME AND CALENDAR
The crown of your CHRIS BENZ DEEP 500M Chronograph model is a screw-lock type and has to be
opened first before settings can be made! Please don´t open the crown in the water or if the watch is
wet. The watch will be only water-resistant if the crown is locked and securely closed.

Pull the crown out to the first position (1).
After setting time and calendar please push back the crown
in basic position and screw it securely.
You can set the weekday and date by turning the crown.
ATTENTION: Don´t set weekday and date between 9:00 PM and
4:00 AM otherwise it could impete proper function of your watch.
Pull the crown out to the second position (2).
You can set the minute and hour hand by
turning the crown.
After setting please push back the crown.

your bygone diving time on the bezel.

6. THE HELIUM ESCAPE VALVE

The helium valve allows existing helium atoms to exit. Therefore it prevents the buildup of internal
pressure, which can lead to a losening of the glass of the watch. If the pressure in the watch
exceeds 5bar, the pressure compensation will be done automatically. The helium valve is used for
movements in a pressure chamber or in other areas with pressure overload (tunnel construction).
The helium valve of the CHRIS BENZ DEEP 500M Chronograph is placed on the left side
of the watchcase and other additional steps are not necessary to ensure the functionality.

7. THE AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT
The battery is omitted by the automatic movement. The
drivemechanism is powered by the natural motion of the
wearer´s arm. Without wearing the watch the power re-
serve will working for up to 36 hours. This may vary how-
ever on how long the watch was worn before taken off.
ATTENTION: To ensure proper functioning of your watch, you should
give the watch to an official CHRIS BENZ Dealer every 5-6 years for service.

You can load the watch manually by
turning the crown.
After loading the watch, screw the
crown to the locked position tightly.

The speed traveld is 90 Kilometers per Hour - a
distance of 1 mile is covered 40 times within an Hour
(3.600 Seconds). Formula for determining Speed
(Rate): Speed (Rate) = Distance / Time
A vehicle covers a distance of 1 mile in 40 seconds (1).
At what speed is the vehicle travelling?
Activate the chronometer (capter 5) and stop it after 1
mile. In order to determine the speed, the user can use
the tachymeterscale (2).

8. THE TACHYMETER
The tachymeter is designed to communicate the speed
that one is travelling based on the “seconds” indicator
(hand) as well as a known distance (for example 1
Kilometer/Mile).

When you don´t use your watch for an extended period of time,
wipe dirt, sweat and moisture off.
For cleaning the watch use lightly soapy water and a toothbrush.

On the rubber strap of your CHRIS BENZ model
you can read the decompress-free areas accor-
ding to the „American Navy Diving Manual“.
A no-decompression limit (NDL) is a time limit.
No-decompression limits vary from dive to dive.
A diver who stays underwater longer than the
no-decompression limit for his dive can not
ascend directly to the surface, but must break
periodically as he ascends to avoid a high risk of
decompression sickness. A diver should be never
exceed a no-decompression limit without specia-
lized training in decompression procedures.
ATTENTION: These values serve only
as guideline and do not replace diving
computers!

1. FONCTIONS
Toutes les montres CHRIS BENZ DEEP ont les fonctions suivantes :
La lunette est un élément essentiel de votre montre, il permet de connaître et de contrôler le temps
de plongée. Pour accroître la sécurité, la lunette tourne dans le sens contraire des aiguilles de
montre.
La couronne de votre montre est équipé d‘un joint, l‘étanchéité de votre montre est donnée par ce
joint. Veuillez vous assurer avant chaque plongée que le couronne est toujours bien vissée à fond.
Le règlage de l‘heure et de la date se font par la couronne.
La table de plongée imprimée sur le bracelet aide le plongeur à respecter
les paliers de décompression ne peut pas remplacer un ordinateur de plongée!
Le verre saphir, d‘une dureté classe 9, offre une protection quasi permanente contre les rayures.

Toutes les montres CHRIS BENZ DEEP sont grâce au joint d‘étanchéité de la couronne,
et du fond vissé garanties étanches 50 bars (500m).
2. VEUILLEZ PRENDRE LES PRÈCAUTIONS SUIVANTES
LORSQUE VOUS UTILISEZ LA MONTRE
Après une plongée en mer, veuillez passer, laver votre montre à l’eau douce, et sécher la bien ensuite.
Votre montre est protégée contre l’eau, la poussière, etc… par différents joints. Nous vous
conseillons de les faire contrôler régulièrement (environ tous les 2-3 ans) auprès d’un
revendeur CHRIS BENZ, pour qu’il procède au remplacement si nécessaire.

Veuillez faire remplacer le bracelet lorsque celui ci présente des déchirures.
Evitez les chocs.
Contrôlez avant chaque plongée si la couronne est bien vissée.
Il peut se produire une buée à l’intérieure de la montre lorsque la température extérieure est basse.
Il n’y a pas de problème d’étanchéité lorsque cette buée disparaît rapidement. Si tel n’est pas le cas,
alors nous vous conseillons vivement de faire vérifier votre montre chez votre revendeur CHRIS BENZ.
Veuillez éviter les expositions prolongées au soleil, ou de la poser près d’une source de chaleur.
Cela pourrait perturber le bon fonctionnement de la montre, et peut impacter la durée de vie de
la pile.

3. RÈGLAGE DE LA DATE ET DE L`HEURE

La couronne de votre CHRIS BENZ DEEP 500M Chronograph est vissée et doit seulement être dévis-
sée pour faire des réglages. Veuillez ne pas manipuler la couronne dans l’eau ou lorsque la montre
est mouillée. L’étanchéité est garantie que si la couronne est parfaitement vissée.

Tirer la couronne, la mettre en position (1).
Une fois le réglage effectué, appuyez, puis vissez la couronne.
Nous rappelons que, pour garantir l’étanchéité, la couronne doit être vissée à fond.
Tourner la couronne, dans un sens vous allez faire le réglage du jour et,
dans l’autre sens, le réglage du jour.
Tirer la couronne, la mettre en position (2).
Tourner la couronne pour le réglage de l’heure.
Une fois le réglage effectué, appuyez, puis vissez la couronne.
Nous rappelons que, pour garantir l’étanchéité, la couronne doit être vissée à fond.

RÈFÈRENCE: Nous vous conseillons de régler la date et l’heure entre 5 et 21 heures.

Avec la lunette, vous pouvez rapidement et simplement déterminer le temps de plongée écoulé
ainsi que le temps de plongée restant et, ainsi, déterminer le temps total de votre plongée.
Au démarrage de votre plongée, positionnez le point phosphorescent de la lunette sur l’aiguille
des minutes. Vous allez alors pouvoir lire le temps écoulé par lecture directe sur votre lunette.
Au démarrage de votre plongée, positionnez le point phosphorescent de la lunette sur le temps de
plongée souhaité. Vous allez pouvoir lire le temps restant de votre plongée en lecture directe sur
votre lunette.

La valve à hélium dirige les atomes d‘hélium qui sont dans le boitier vers l’extérieur. Cela évite
la surpression, qui pourrait pousser le verre vers l’extérieur, donc endommager votre montre.
La compensation de pression, se réalise dès que la pression interne dépasse les 5 bars. La valve
à hélium est à utiliser en chambre de décompression, ou dans d’autres situations de surpression
(hors milieu humide).
La soupape à hélium se trouve sur la CHRIS BENZ DEEP 500M Chronograph à gauche.
