DIESEL
READY TO SET OFF CITROËN C5
FL - C5 - ED 01-2010 - AN
REMOTE CONTROL KEY
A. Key release/storage.
B. Normal locking of the vehicle (a single press) or deadlocking
the vehicle (two presses in succession).
C. Guide-me-home lighting.
D. Unlocking the vehicle.
STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT
)First, adjust the driver's seat to the most suitable position.
)When stationary, pull the lever Ato unlock the steering wheel
adjustment.
)Adjust for height and reach.
)Push the lever to lock the steering wheel adjustment.
FUEL TANK
To open the fuel ller ap, press on it at top left, then pull from
the rear edge.
OPENING THE BONNET
The bonnet release should only be
operated when the
vehicle is stationary.
)Open the driver's door.
)Pull release lever Ato unlock.
)Lift up safety catch B, then raise the bonnet.
MANUAL PARKING BRAKE
Application
)Pull the parking brake lever up to immobilise your vehicle.
To facilitate the action on the lever, you are recommended to press
the brake pedal at the same time.
Release
)Press on the end of the lever whilst pulling it then lower it fully.
ELECTRIC DOOR MIRRORS
1. Selection of door mirror:
A. Left hand side.
B. Right hand side.
C. Foldback/Unfold.
2. Directional control for mirror selected.
Locking filler cap
)Turn the key a quarter turn to lock and unlock the ller cap.
When refuelling, place the cap on hook F.
Tank capacity: approximately 71 litres
The application of the parking brake is conrmed by:
ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE
Application with the engine off
With the vehicle stationary, the parking brake is automatically
applied when the engine is switched off.
Application with the engine running
With the engine running and the vehicle stationary, in order to
immobilise the vehicle you need to manually apply the parking
brake by pulling on control A
- the lighting of the warning lamp Pin control
lever Aand in the instrument panel,
- the display of a message "Handbrake on" in the multifunction
screen.
Release
The electric parking brake releases automatically and
progressively when you press the accelerator:
)with a manual gearbox (rst gear or reverse gear engaged),
press down fully on the clutch pedal then press on the
accelerator pedal and move off.
)with an automatic gearbox, accelerate with the selector in
position D, Mor R.
The application of the parking brake is conrmed by:
- the extinction of the warning lamp Pin control
lever Aand in the instrument panel,
- the display of a message "Handbrake off" in the multifunction
screen.
When stationary, with the engine running, do not press the
accelerator pedal unnecessarily (particularly when starting the engine,
including in neutral), as you may release the parking brake.
DUAL-ZONE DIGITAL AIR CONDITIONING
Adjustment of air distribution on
driver's side. Passenger's side automatic
operation.
Adjustment of temperature on
driver's side.
Adjustment of air distribution on
passenger's side.
Rear screen and door mirrors
demisting - defrosting.
Air recirculation - fresh air
intake.
Front demisting -
defrosting.

It is recommended that automatic mode
be used by pressing the "AUTO" button.
PERSONALISATION - CONFIGURATION
"SETUP" MENU
)Press the "SETUP" button to gain access to the "SETUP"
menu.
MAIN MENU
MISFUEL PREVENTION
Mechanical device which prevents lling the tank of a Diesel vehicle
with petrol. It avoids the risk of engine damage that can result from
lling with the wrong fuel.
When a petrol ller nozzle is introduced into the fuel ller neck of
your Diesel vehicle, it comes into contact with the ap. The system
remains closed and prevents lling.
Do not persist but introduce a Diesel type ller nozzle.
STOP & START
The Stop & Start system puts the engine temporarily on standby -
STOP mode - during stops in the trafc (red lights, trafc jams, or
other...). The engine restarts automatically - START mode - as soon
as you want to move off. The restart takes place instantly, quickly
and silently.
Perfect for urban use, the Stop & Start system reduces fuel
consumption and exhaust emissions as well as the noise level when
stationary.
The "ECO" warning lamp comes on in the instrument
panel and the engine goes into standby.
The "ECO" warning lamp goes off and the engine starts.

CRUISE CONTROL
SPEED LIMITER
Lamps off.
Automatic illumination of headlamps.
Sidelamps only.
B. Stalk for switching headlamps: pull to switch the lighting between
dipped headlamps/main beam headlamps.
A. Main lighting mode selection ring: turn it to position the symbol
required facing the mark..
Dipped headlamps or main beam headlamps.

Selection of «CRUISE» : Activation of cruise control mode.
1 Rotation - Radio source: Scroll the pre-set stations.
- CD/MP3 CD/CD changer/jukebox source: Scroll the CDs or directories.
- On the multifunction screen menus: Movement and increase/decrease.
Short press - On the multifunction screen menus: conrm.
- Open the short-cut menus (depending on the multifunction screen page).
Long press Open the multifunction screen main menu.
2 Short press Cancel the current operation and return to the previous page on the multifunction screen.
When an incoming telephone call is received: Refuse the call.
Long press Return to the initial page on the multifunction screen.
3 Short press Access to the multifunction screen general menu.

Maintained press
Volume increase.
5 Short press /
Maintained press
Volume decrease.
6 Short press - First press: mute.
- Second press: restore sound.
7 Short press - Radio source: Automatic search of higher frequencies.
- CD/MP3 CD/CD changer/jukebox source: Search for the next track.
Maintained press CD/MP3 CD/CD changer/jukebox source: Fast forward play.
8 Short press - Radio source: Automatic search of lower frequencies.
- CD/MP3 CD/CD changer/jukebox source: Search for the previous track.
Maintained press CD/MP3 CD/CD changer/jukebox source: Fast backwards.
9 Short press - Radio source: display the list of radio stations available.
- CD/MP3 CD and CD changer source: display the list of CD tracks and directories.
- Jukebox source: display the list of albums.
Long press Update the list of radio stations.
10 Short press/

Horn.
11 Long press MODE: selection of the type of information presented on the multifunction screen.
FIXED CENTRED CONTROLS STEERING WHEEL
5-SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX
Engaging reverse gear
)Push the gear lever to the right then rearwards.
6-SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX
Engaging reverse gear
)Raise the ring under the knob (indicated by the arrow) and push
the gear lever to the left then forwards.
Only engage reverse gear when the vehicle is stationary with the
engine at idle.
P : Park.
R : Reverse gear.
N :Neutral.
)Operate the starter.
)Select rst gear (position Mor A) or reverse
(position R).
)Release the brake pedal, then accelerate.
AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
«SET +» : Increase of the memorised speed (system ON).
«SET -» : Reduction of the memorised speed (system ON).
Suspension or resumption of mode.
Deactivation.
Selection of «LIMIT» : Activation of speed limiter mode.
"SET +" : Increase of the maximum speed.
"SET -" : Reduction of the maximum speed.
Suspension or resumption of mode.
Deactivation.
The chosen speed is memorised.
