Safety
• Always use aresidual current device (RCD or RCCB) which trips at < 30 mA
between thepump and thepower supply.
• Always inspect thepump before using it, especially thepower lead and plug.
Never use thepump if it is damaged.
• If themains lead is damaged it must only be replaced by aqualified tradesman.

• Make sure that any electrical connections (extension lead, RCD, etc.) are placed in
adry place and protected from overflowing water and floods.
• Keep themains lead away from extreme heat, oil and sharp edges.
• The pump is not designed for continuous use.
• Protect thepump from frost.
• The pump is suitable for pumping clean water or dirty water with amaximum particle
size of 5 mm for 40-9032 and 25 mm for 40-9033, swimming pools and ornamental
ponds. Bear in mind that sand and other abrasive substances in theliquid that is
pumped will increase thewear and tear and reduce thecapacity of thepump.
• The pump must never be used in aswimming pool or pond if people or animals
are still in thewater.
• The pump is waterproof and submersible to adepth of max 7/7 m.
• Make sure that thepressure head does not exceed 7/8 m.
• The pump must not be used for corrosive, combustible or explosive liquids such
as petrol, kerosene or thinners. - Neither must thepump be used for grease, oil,
brackish water, seawater, urine or toilet sewage water.
• The temperature of thepumped liquid must not be greater than 35 ºC.
• Dry-running should be avoided, as this soon wears thepump out. Turn off
thepump as soon as water has stopped coming out of thehose.
• Avoid running thepump with thedischarge outlet closed for more than ten minutes.
• The pump has abuilt-in thermal overload motor protection and automatically shuts
off when it gets overheated. The motor starts again automatically when themotor
has cooled.
• If chlorinated water, such as swimming pool water, has been pumped, clean water
should be pumped afterwards to rinse out thepump.

The pump is intended for domestic use in homes and gardens. Suitable uses:
• Drainage of containers
• The transfer of liquids
• Pumping water from springs, wells and barrels
• Bilge pumping boats
• Circulating water for limit periods

Before use
Hose Connection*
Fit theincluded universal hose union onto
one of theoutlets (1 or 6)*.
Note: The plastic plug (7) should be inserted
into theoutlet which is not being used.

The universal hose union is fitted with
a38mm (1½″) and 25mm (1″) diameter
barbed hose connectors and a1″male
threaded hose connector. 38mm hoses
provide thebest capacity.
If the38mm barbed hose connector or
the1″threaded connector are to be used,
theend of thenipple should be cut off as
shown in thefigure.
Cut off thepart (B) of theuniversal hose union
that is not needed (if using large diameter hose).
* The pump has two alternative outlets, upper
and lower. Depending on the construction of
the pump the upper outlet (1) provides about
10% less water flow than the lower outlet (6).
Note: The plastic plug (7) must be inserted
into the outlet which is not used.
Adjusting the Float Switch
The level of water at which thepump starts
and stops can be adjusted by lengthening
or shortening thefloat switch cable held by
theclip (2).
• Shortening thelength of thecable between
theswitch (5) and theclip (2) will enable
thepump to start at alower water level.
• Lengthening thelength of thecable
between theswitch (5) and theclip (2)
will enable thepump to start at ahigher
water level.

Positioning and transportation
• The pump should be placed in astable position (especially if set to automatic operation).
• The float switch (5) must be able to move unhindered.
• The inlet must not be blocked in any way, make sure that there are no loose
particles such as sand or stones near theinlet as this increases wear on thepump
and could even cause astoppage.
• Do not use themains lead or float switch to lift or carry thepump. Always use
arope tied to thehandle when lowering or raising thepump.
Operating instructions
Manual operation
Fasten thefloat switch so it is not hanging
down. Switch thepump on/off by either
using theswitch on thewall socket if it has
one or by pulling theplug out of thewall
socket. Do not let thepump run dry.
Automatic operation
When themains lead is connected to alive wall socket thesubmersible pump will
be switched on and off by thefloat switch. When thefloat switch is raised by water,
thepump starts. When thewater level falls, thefloat switch hangs down and
thepump stops.

Care and maintenance
If necessary, unplug themains lead from thewall
socket, remove the3 screws holding thecover plate
onto thebase of thepump, then remove the4 screws
holding theimpeller housing and clean theinlet (8) of
any debris.
Screw theparts back on in reverse order, making sure
that theoutlet on theimpeller housing is on thesame
side of thepump as theupper outlet.
Troubleshooting guide
Problem Possible cause Possible solution
The pump runs
but doesn’t

Säkerhet

• Se till att elanslutningar (skarvuttag, jordfelsbrytare etc.) är placerade på torr plats,
skyddade vid ev. översvämning.
• Utsätt inte nätsladden för stark värme, olja eller vassa kanter.
• Pumpen är inte konstruerad för att användas kontinuerligt.
• Skydda pumpen mot frost.
• Pumpen är lämplig för att pumpa rent eller grumligt vatten med en partikelstorlek
på max 5 mm för 40-9032 och max 25 mm för 40-9033, swimmingpoolvatten eller
tvättvatten. Tänk på att sand eller andra slipande material i vätskan som pumpas
ger ökat slitage och reducerad kapacitet.
• Pumpen får aldrig användas i swimmingpool om människor eller djur befinner sig
i vattnet.
• Pumpen är vattenskyddad och sänkbar till ett djup på max 7/7 m.
• Kontrollera att tryckhöjden inte överskrider 7/8 m.
• Pumpen får inte användas till frätande, brännbara eller explosiva vätskor som
bensin, fotogen eller förtunning. Inte heller får pumpen användas till fetter, oljor,
bräckt vatten, saltvatten, urin eller avloppsvatten från toalett.
• Temperaturen på vätskan som pumpas får inte överstiga 35 ºC.
• Torrkörning ska undvikas eftersom det leder till snabb förslitning. Stäng omedelbart
av pumpen när vattnet slutar rinna ur slangen.
• Undvik att köra pumpen mot stängt utlopp i mer än 10 min.
• Pumpen har ett inbyggt termiskt motorskydd och stängs automatiskt av när den
blir överhettad. Motorn startar automatiskt när den har svalnat.
• Om du har pumpat klorerat vatten, t.ex. till swimmingpool, bör du pumpa rent
vatten efteråt för att skölja ur pumpen.
