Safety
• Always use aresidual current device (RCD or RCCB) which trips at < 30 mA
between thepump and thepower supply.
• Always inspect thepump before using it, especially thepower lead and plug.
Never use thepump if it is damaged.
• If themains lead is damaged it must only be replaced by aqualified tradesman.

• Make sure that any electrical connections (extension lead, RCD, etc.) are placed in
adry place and protected from overflowing water and floods.
• Keep themains lead away from extreme heat, oil and sharp edges.
• The pump is not designed for continuous use.
• Protect thepump from frost.
• The pump is suitable for pumping clean water or dirty water with amaximum particle
size of 5 mm for 40-9032 and 25 mm for 40-9033, swimming pools and ornamental
ponds. Bear in mind that sand and other abrasive substances in theliquid that is
pumped will increase thewear and tear and reduce thecapacity of thepump.
• The pump must never be used in aswimming pool or pond if people or animals
are still in thewater.
• The pump is waterproof and submersible to adepth of max 7/7 m.
• Make sure that thepressure head does not exceed 7/8 m.
• The pump must not be used for corrosive, combustible or explosive liquids such
as petrol, kerosene or thinners. - Neither must thepump be used for grease, oil,
brackish water, seawater, urine or toilet sewage water.
• The temperature of thepumped liquid must not be greater than 35 ºC.
• Dry-running should be avoided, as this soon wears thepump out. Turn off
thepump as soon as water has stopped coming out of thehose.
• Avoid running thepump with thedischarge outlet closed for more than ten minutes.
• The pump has abuilt-in thermal overload motor protection and automatically shuts
off when it gets overheated. The motor starts again automatically when themotor
has cooled.
• If chlorinated water, such as swimming pool water, has been pumped, clean water
should be pumped afterwards to rinse out thepump.
