sores.
Only cover the Cobi Sky Positioning Mattress with one sheet, for

cover can damage the mattress.

another user. This is done to avoid cross-contamination. See the section
on cleaning.
Please contact Cobi Rehab if there are holes or defects in the various
covers.
In a bed with a guard rail, the guard rail must be higher than the

4. Construction
Mattress
Cobi Sky is a complete mattress with several
layers. The top layer (below the white and grey
covers in the image) consists of a cover with small
Krøyer beads. The cover is sewn in channels,
which means that the contents of each individual
channel can be moved around. This means that
the mattress can be shaped exactly to the
position that the user needs.
In other words, the user sinks into the mattress,
which ensures optimal support and pressure relief,
while at the same time reducing the risk of shear.
Under the layer with channels and Krøyer beads,
there is a springy middle layer with perforations
that ensures optimal ventilation of the mattress.
A foam frame around and under the two layers
ensures stability when the user is sitting on the
edge of the bed.
Cover
The grey outer cover for the foam mattress is an
incontinence cover which is stretchable,
breathable, and washable. The grey cover covers
the entire mattress and closes with a zip.
The outer cover sits loosely, which allows nursing
staff to push and shape the filling in the mattress
without the tightness of the cover cancelling out
the positioning and function of the filling.
The white inner cover is an ultra-thin, flexible, and
stretchable Lycra cover.
Recycling
Cobi Sky can be reused, i.e., go to new user.
All parts of the mattress can be replaced as
needed.
Please note that Cobi Sky Positioning Mattress
must be disinfected if it is to be used by a new
user. This is done to avoid cross-contamination.

5. Application
Push the filling around
Cobi Sky Positioning Mattress meets the
challenges of pressure sores without
compromising stability.
This is partly due to the construction of the
mattress with channels that can be pushed
around. In this way, the mattress can be shaped
exactly to the needs of the user.
The mattress is used for positioning the user when
the greatest possible support of the body is
required.
The positioning mattress simultaneously provides
tactile and proprioceptive stimuli when the filling
is pushed to and around the user, as shown in the
illustration.
If there are places on the body where there is a
need for total pressure relief, the mattress can be
modified by modulating the filling around, so that
there is no longer contact between the mattress
and the specific area on the user’s body.
Hollow positioning
In case of existing bedsores, a hole can be made
for relief by pushing the beads filling around.
Make a hole with your hand below the point
where the pressure is to be relieved.
The hole can subsequently be smoothed out
again when there is no longer a need for relief of,
for example, the heel.
Micro positioning
Small adjustments of the mattress are made
continuously, for instance, for micro positioning.
This is done, among other things, to create small
pressure-distributing changes in the mattress
without the user having to be actively involved,
for example, during night inspections, where the
user’s sleep should not be disturbed.
This is also done if the user cannot handle
significant turns or lifting and moving in the bed.
Stretch the grey cover before placing the user
on the mattress. It reduces the risk of pressure
sores and facilitates the best deep positioning
down into the mattress filling.
Remember to push the filling “in place” daily
before use. This ensures the correct support.
