Inserting a microSD card
TheActionCameradoesnothaveanyinternalmemory.AmicroSDcard(notincluded)mustbeinserted
fortheActionCameratorecordfootageandcaptureimages
1. WhiletheActionCameraiso,insertamicroSDcardintotheportonthesideoftheActionCamera
andpushthecardallthewayintotheport.WhencorrectlyinsertedintotheActionCamera,youwill
feelasmallclick.YourActionCameraisnowreadytorecordandcaptureimages
2. ToremovethemicroSDcard,pushthecardinslightlyuntilyouhearaclick,thecardwillthenpop
outfromtheActionCameraforremoval
NOTE:
• Ensure that the microSD card you have inserted has a maximum capacity no more than 64GB and is
at least Class 10
• CAUTION: If you are installing a previously used memory card into the camera, make sure to back up
any data stored on the card, to avoid possible data loss

Waterproof housing
Thecameracomessuppliedwithatransparentwaterproofhousing,whichallowsyoutotakevideo
footageorphotosinwetconditionsorunderwateratadepthofupto30meters
Tousethecamerawiththewaterproofhousing,observethefollowing:
1. Placethecamerainthewaterproofhousingandcloseitcarefullyusingthelockingcliplocatedat
thetopofthecase.Makesurethelatchlockkeyissecurelyinplace
2. Oncethecameraissecurelyinstalled,youcanusethepowerandshutterbuttonsbypushingthe
buttonslocatedontopofthewaterproofhousing
WARNING: Once the camera is secured in the case, make sure that all seals are in place to prevent
water intrusion.
Before using the camera in wet conditions
1. Beforesealingthecase,ensuretherubbersealofthecamerahousingisclean—evenasinglehair
orgrainofsandcancausealeak.Youcantestwatertightnessbyclosingthecasewithoutinserting
thecamera
2. Submergetheemptycasecompletelyinwaterforaboutaminute.Removethecasefromthewater,
dryoitsexteriorwithatowel,thenopenthecase.Iftheentireinteriorisdry,thecaseissafefor
useunderwater
3. Afterusingthecamerainsaltwater,rinsetheoutsideofthehousingwithnon-saltwateranddry.If
notproperlycleaned,corrosioncanoccuronthehingeandthepin,whichcancausefailure.
WARNING: Do not use aggressive substances such as acetone to clean the case, as these can cause
permanent damage
4. Tocleantheseal,rinseinfreshwaterandshakedry(dryingwithaclothmaycauselintto
compromisetheseal).Re-installthesealintothegroovesinthebackdoorofthehousing

4. Power off due to low battery:Ifthecamera’sbatterypowerhasdroppedtoextremelylowlevels,
theiconwillappearontheLCDscreenandyouwillhavetorechargethebattery.Whentheicon
turnsredandashes,thecamerawillautomaticallypowero
