Display
Software Installation
1. Insert the installation CD in your computer.
2. Follow the instructions in the window to complete installation.
3. Upon completion of software installation, connect the player via USB cable to the computer.
* Install software before connecting the player to your PC.
Downloading/Uploading Audio Files
1. Connect the player to your computer with the USB cable.
2. Open Windows Explorer on your computer.
• U Disk is displayed.
3. Select file to save, and drag and drop onto the U Disk icon.
• File will appear in numerical, alphabetical order.
• To play songs in a specific order, change file names in Windows Explorer to “001… 002…”
4. Disconnecting the USB cable while transferring files may cause malfunction of the player.
* The play order may differ from the music file order displayed in Windows Explorer.

Battery Indicator
9-level battery-usage monitor.
Indicates that battery is fully charged
Indicates low-battery power. Charge (for Li-ion models) or replace battery (AAA models).
Battery Charging
The player can be charged when connected to a computer via USB cable, or charged directly. First time battery charge should
take approximately 10 hours. Recharge time is 4-5 hours. You must turn the player and computer POWER ON before
recharging.

MP3 Player Operation
Main Menu
Press MODE to enter the system menu and:
1. Browse music files or menus.
2. Fast forward or rewind when playing music.

Music Playback
1. Connect the earphones.

2. Tempo rate
When playing music or recorded files, different tempo rates can be set (faster or slower) without changing the tone or
sound.
• Press NEXT to quicken tempo rate and press PREV to slow down tempo.
• Press MODE to confirm your desired tempo rate and to exit the current menu.
3. A-B Replay
• Press MODE to enter the Play Submenu.
• Press NEXT to select the Replay Mode.
• Press MODE to confirm.
• “A” blinks in Replay icon .
• Press NEXT to select “A.”
• After “A” is set, the endpoint “B” must be set: press NEXT to set “B.”
• Replay icon is set: the replay of the A-B segment begins.
• Press PREV to reset “A” and select another replay segment.
• At the end of the replay, the player will automatically exit the Replay mode.
• To set the Tempo Rate, press VOL+/VOL-.

 The recorded file is saved in the current folder set in “Recording Stop submenu/ /Local Folder”.
 If “Overflow” is displayed on the display, the player’s memory is full. Please delete other files to make some space
available.
 If “over record” is displayed on the display, the current directory has already had 99 recording files. Please switch to
another directory.

Convert ACT Files to WAV Files
ACT files can be converted to WAV format using the included installation tools.
1. Run the “Sound Converter” program, and click on “Open”.
2. Choose the ACT files for format conversion.
3. To start conversion, click on “Convert.”
4. WAV and MP3 files can also be played.

Frequency Search

The player can auto-scan frequencies between 87.5MHZ and 108MHZ and save the scanned stations.
Select FM Band
In the FM submenu, select the icon and press MODE to enter “ Select band”.
Press NEXT to select a band, and press MODE for confirmation.

LYRICS DISPLAY mode
This player supports *.LRC lyric files to display lyrics simultaneously while playing MP3 songs.
1. Setting up lyric files:
• Save the lyric file with the same name as that of the corresponding MP3 file.
• e.g.: Music file name: Andy-Water.mp3 / Lyric file name: Andy-Water.mp3.
2. Confirm the lyrics files:
• If no lyric matches the current song, the icon , top left of the display in music mode, will change to

USB Flash Memory (U-Disk)
The player can be used to store other data files.
To transfer files, connect the player to a PC via included USB cable.
The player displays 3 modes after connection to PC:
Standby
Downloading
Uploading
Folders
The player can store up to 99 files in one folder.
1. Set up folders in advance on PC.
2. Press MODE to enter the Stop-submenu.
3. Press MODE again to enter Select Folder menu.
4. Press PREV/NEXT to select folders.
5. Press MODE to confirm the folders selected.
6. To delete files, enter Stop-submenu and select “Delete.”
• Press MODE to confirm and start deleting.
Note: When deleting files on PC, please turn off the player first before pulling out the USB cable, otherwise files may not be
deleted or files will be damaged.
Password Protection/Data Encryption “Private Space” mode
Users may partition the USB disk of this player using the accessory tools (SP4 must be installed on WIN 2000, otherwise only
one drive letter will be seen. Without such installation, you must choose “single ordinary disk” or “single encrypted disk.”)
One partof the partitioned USB disk can be encrypted as “Private Space,” and be protected by a password.
1. Connect the player to the PC.
2. Run the accessory installation tools “MP3 Player Disk Tool.”
3. Select “Partition and encrypt”, and set the desired capacity for the encrypted disk.
4. Set username/password.
5. Click on “Start” to start the partitioning process.
6. Click on “OK” after partition finishes to restart your PC.
7. Two drive letters will be displayed (except for the WIN 2000 operating system).
8. Click to access the encrypted disk. Three files will be displayed: Two private + one executable (300Kb).
9. Run the executable file “RdiskDecrypt.exe,” and write username and password in the dialog box. If they are correct, the disk
can be accessed and files can be copied.
10. Username and password are required to access the encrypted disk.

Note: Partitioning or merging disks may result in accidental data loss. Always backup all data before partitioning.
Warning: Lost usernames and passwords will require the deletion of the encrypted disk (merging the two disks) and may
result in loss of data.

No Power
 Check whether the battery has been inserted properly and is fully charged.
 Check whether the player is turned ON.
No sound is heard from
headphones.
 Check whether Volume is set on “0” and connect the earphone plug firmly.
 Check whether the earphone plug is dirty.
 Corrupted MP3 may make a static noise and the sound may stop. Make sure, that
the music files are not corrupted.
Characters in display are

 Check whether the right language has been selected.
Poor FM Reception.
 Adjust the position of the earphones and player.
 Turn off other nearby electronic devices.
 The earphones can be used as antenna.
Download of music files fails.
