Installation and Mounting for C3900:
The mounting of C3900 speaker using the clamp-on design bracket will avoid the need for drilling into the aluminum body of the new Ford
F150 or Expedition.
Step 1. Locate the vehicle’s aluminum cross member under the front end of the vehicle behind the grill & Eco-Boost Intercooler (See Fig-
ure-1).
Step 2. Install the single or dual speakers by threading two (2) ¼”-20 X 1 ¼” Phillips pan head screws with two (2) ¼” split lock washers for
each speaker body through the holes in the main bracket and into the threaded holes in the back side of the speaker body (See Figure 2 -
C3900). Tighten the screws until the lock washers fully atten out but do not over tighten.
Note: Make sure the speakers are mounted in the correct orientation with the word “BOTTOM” at the bottom of the assembly (See
Figure 2 - C3900 for correct speaker orientation). Caution: Severe damage could occur to the speaker if it is not mounted in the
proper orientation.
Step 3. Locate the slotted ange of the main bracket & position it over the top of the vehicle’s cross member. While pushing up on the
vehicle’s black plastic splash guard, slip the ange of the bracket between the cross member & the plastic splash guard as shown in Figure
3. Slide the bracket into position up against the back side of the vehicle’s cross member as shown in Figure 4. Position the assembly on the
cross member so that the speakers will clear all of the vehicles hoses & etc.
Step 4. Insert the short ange of the clamping bracket into the slot in the main bracket as shown in Figure 5 & rotate the clamping bracket up
to the bottom of the vehicles cross member as shown in Figure 6. Note: Make sure the short clamp bracket ange stays engaged in the slot
in the main bracket while you rotate the clamp bracket into position.
Step 5. Thread two (2) ¼”-20 X 1 ¼” Phillips pan head screws with two (2) ¼” split lock washers through the slots in the clamp bracket
and into the threaded inserts in the main bracket. Tighten the screws until the lock washers fully atten out, and the clamp bracket is tight
up against the main bracket ange (See Figure 7). Note: Make sure the speakers are mounted in the correct orientation with the Code 3
Speaker Labels at right side up. (See Figure 2 - C3900 for correct speaker orientation). Caution: Severe damage could occur to the speaker
if it is not mounted in the proper orientation.
Step 6. Connect the unit wires to customer supplied wires & route to the desired power source.
