informationoflockactivity;timelockopened,UserCode
usedetc.Onceactivated(Program16)thesamesoftware
allowsforeasyprogrammingoflocksviaaUSBStick
fromaPCtothelockandfromthelockbacktothePC.
Multiplelockscanbeprogrammedinthiswayifrequired.
UNLOCK TIME
Thefactorypre-setUNLOCKtimeis4seconds.Thismay
bechanged–(seeProgram06).
PENALTY TIME
Entering3incorrectcodeswillcausethelocktosuspend
activityforapenaltytimeof10seconds.
KEY OVER-RIDE
Turnthekeyclockwise90ºanddepresstheleverhandle
toopenthedoor.
CODE FREE MODE
UsingtheMasterortheSub-MasterCode,Programs08
and09willputthelockinto,andoutof,CodeFreeMode.
InCodeFreeModebatterypowerisnotbeingused.If
MasterandSub-MasterCodescannotbeissuedforthis
purposeitispossibletousetheKey-in-Levertoputthe
lockintoCodeFreeMode.Thisrequiresthatthecylinder
tailpiecebechangedaccordingtotheinstructionon
pages4and5.

REVERTING TO FACTORY SETTING
IftheMasterCodeisnotknownthelockmemorycanbeclearedand
madetoreverttothefactoryMasterCodeasfollows:
• Removebattery
• Pressandhold‘0’button
• Refitbattery
• Within7secondspress‘000’
• Lockwillberesettofactorydefaultsettings(AToptiononly).

REM 2isintendedforusewhenthereisaneedforthedoortobe
releasedbyanalarmsystem,suchasafirealarm.Thisenables
emergencypersonneltorapidlycheckthatnooneistrapped,
overlookedinclassrooms,wards,guestrooms,etc.duringan
emergencyevacuation,orduringafiredrill.Whenactivatedby
analarmREM2willmaintaintheunlockedconditionfor30
minutes.DuringthistimetheRedLEDwillflashonceevery
secondandBEEPtoindicatetheunlockedcondition.Thelock
willautomaticallyreverttonormalafter30minutes.Ifrequired
Program11canbeusedtorevertthelocktonormalbeforethe
30minuteperiodhasfinished.
LOCKED/UNLOCKED STATUS INDICATION
UsingProgram15theBlueandRedLEDscanbeprogrammed
toindicatelockedandunlockedstatus.
BATTERY POWER
TheCL5000Electronicshouldprovideinexcessof200,000
openingsfromthe4xAAcellsratedat2,900mAh.
LOW BATTERY
WhenthebatterypowerislowtheRedLEDwillflash5times
beforetheBlueLEDflashestosignalacceptanceofthecode.
Batteriesshouldbechangedassoonasthishappens.
REM 1isintendedforusewhenthereisaneedtoallowa
visitortoopenthedoorafterhavingbeenidentifiedbyintercom
orbysightfromwithin.REM1wouldbeconnectedtoapush
buttononareceptiondesk,ortotheappropriatebuttononan
intercom.PushingthebuttonwouldcausetheBlueLEDtolight
andwouldreleasethelockforthenormalsettime.
REMOTE RELEASE OPTION
Thelockhas2setsofterminalsforremoterelease,labelled
REM1andREM2ontheprintedcircuitboardinthefronthousing.
Cablesareprovidedwiththelockfortheseconnections.

REMOVAL OF FRONT-LOAD CYLINDERS TO CHANGE KEY BYPASS FUNCTION, TO REPIN CYLINDERS,
OR TO REPLACE WITH CYLINDERS BY A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER*
1. Removehandleandcylindercover.
2. Turnkey90ºclockwiseandremovecylinderfromboss.
*If intending to use a cylinderbyadifferentmanufacturer
itisadvisabletoconfirmbeforehandthatthenewcylinder
willfittheboss.NotethattheCL5000usesa6pinscrew-
capcylinder.
A - Storeroom function
Tailpieceallowskeytoturn90ºclockwisetoenablehandleto
retractthelatch-thisisthefactoryfittedfunction.
B - Classroom function
Tailpieceallowskeytoturn90ºclockwiseandberemovedleaving
thehandleengagedinCodeFreeMode.
CodeFreeModeiscancelledbyturningkey90ºanti-clockwise.

3. Removekeyfromcylinder.Holddownthecontrolpininthe
endofthecylinderandunscrewthecap.
4. Replacethetailpiece,holddownthecontrolpinandscrew
thecapfullyonwithouttightening.Ensurecontrolpin
projectstolockthecap.
5. Testthekeyoperation.Ifthekeyisdifficulttoinsertortight
whenturning,thenthecapmaybetootight.Loosenthecap
onenotchatatimeandtrythekeyagain.Ifthekeyinserts
andturnsOK,butisdifficulttoremove,thenthecapmaybe
tooloose.Tightenupthecaponenotchatatime.Adjustthe
capuntilthekeyinserts,turnsandremoveseasily.
6. Withkeyturned90ºclockwisereplacecylinder,cylinder
coverandhandle.
CAUTION! DO NOT INSERT THE KEY IN THE CYLINDER
ONCE YOU HAVE REMOVED THE SCREW-CAP
