To enable the use of this device with DM30x, DM503, and Checker,
the pin assignments of the Power I/O connector can be remapped
by switching a header between several connectors on the device.
Please note that the RS-232 connector only works with the DM30X
series.

The function of this device is to
provide a single, IP65-protected
wiring and power point to support
a single reader. This box supports

Connecting a Reader
1Remove the front cover by unscrewing the four screws.
This section highlights the steps needed to safely connect a reader to the I/O
Box.
2Make sure that the M12 plug is plugged into the socket appropriate to the
reader that will be connected.

3If you wish to use trigger wiring, unscrew the cable gland cover,
thread in the trigger wire and then screw the cover tightly.


Make sure that the cable
is secured tightly in the
cable gland.

4Insert the wire ends to the proper Input/Output terminal depending on
your setup, then secure them using a at head screwdriver.
5Reattach the front cover.
Use a Checker extension cable
(CKR-200-CBL-EXT) to wire a
DM302 or DM503 directly to the
M12 connector on the IO Box.


6Connect your reader to the M12 connector.
7Connect the power cable.

Trigger Wiring
Ensure Input Common jumper
matches wiring style of trigger!
Trigger wiring is a common way to send input into “Input_0” to a reader. You
can power up the reader using the M12 connector, and you can use trigger
wiring to have the reader start reading at a specied trigger.
Red: 24 VDC
White: IN 0 Trigger
Black: Ground
Grey: Earth Ground

When mounting the I/O Box, always use a at and solid surface, and use all
four mounting holes for maximum safety.
Mounting Instructions
• Observe safety regulations when mounting the unit.
• Make sure the cable glands are pointing downwards.
Make sure that the I/O Box is always accessible and not blocked by
other equipment.
