Charging the Battery
The tablet has a built-in lithium battery. You are advised to charge the battery when the battery
power is low.
Do not use or charge the tablet in environments with high humidity and high temperatures.
Use the power adapter accessory (+5V, 2A) to charge the tablet.
Do not use a power adapter with another voltage.
Do not touch the adapter with a wet towel, cloth, or hand. Our company shall not be liable for
damages caused by mishandling.
Power Adapter
Insert one end of the standard charger accessoryinto the DC power jack of the tablet and connect the
other end to the power adapter. Plug the power adapter into the power outlet.
Storage Card Usage
Insert the storage card
Insert a storage card into the card slot and push the card in until you hear a click.
Browse files stored in the storage card
You can browse the files as follows:
Open the file manager application and select the storage card.
Install a third-party file manager application to browse files in the storage card.
Remove a storage card
To prevent data loss or damage, stop using the files stored in the storage card before you remove it.
Go to Settings > Storage, tap Unmount SD card, and then remove the storage card.
NOTE:
The storage card must be inserted in the right location and direction. Otherwise, the card may
be damaged.
You are advised to use storage cards of major brands, to avoid incompatibility or read/write

failure.
Storage Card Hot-Plug and Hot-Pull
NOTE: You are advised not to perform hot-plug or hot-pull operations on the storage card.
If you perform the hot-pull operation on the storage card when you browse or use its files in a video
player, music player, or gallery, the tablet automatically stops the corresponding applications for
self-protection and the storage card may be damaged. For details about how to plug and pull a
storage card, see the section "Storage Card Usage."
Storage Space
Available storage space in the tablet includes internal storage space and storage card space. The
internal storage is displayed as SDcard, and the storage card is displayed as Extsd. The tablet
provides 32 GB flash memory and supports a storage card up to 32 GB.
Turning Tablet On/Off
Turn tablet on
Hold down the Power button to turn the tablet on when the battery power is sufficient.
Turn tablet off
Hold down the Power button for three seconds and select Power off in the dialog box that appears.
Set the silent mode
Hold down the Power button for three seconds and select Silent mode in the dialog box that appears.
Lock the screen
When you do not use the tablet, press the Power button to lock the screen. The tablet enters the sleep
mode. Press the Power button again, the lock screen is displayed. Unlock the screen. The page
displayed before the screen is locked is displayed.

Connecting to Wireless Networks
1. Tap Settings on the main screen.
2. Select WIRELESS & NETWORKS.
3. Tap ON/OFF on the right of Wi-Fi to disable or enable Wi-Fi.
All found wireless networks are listed. You can tap the required network to connect to it.
If the network you select has been connected before, the AP information has been stored. You
can tap Connect to connect to the network or tap Forget to delete the network information.
4. If no password has been set for the selected network, tap Connect to connect to it.
5. If a password has been set for the selected network, enter a password, and tap Connect to
connect to it.
After the network is successfully connected, the wireless connection icon is displayed on the status
bar.
3 Main Screen
Main Screen Description
You can design your personal style on the main screen. The clock widget on the main screen
displays the time of your location. You can add your favorite applications, shortcuts, folders, or
widgets by touching and holdingthe corresponding icons. For details about how to set your personal
style, see the chapter "Personal Settings."
Sleep mode
The sleep mode of the tablet enables the tablet to enter a low-power-consumption status, to reduce
power consumption.
Switch to the sleep mode
Press the Power button. The screen is locked and the tablet enters the sleep mode. The tablet
automatically enters the sleep mode after it runs without operations on it for a specified period.
Wake up the tablet

Press the Power button to wake up the tablet. Then, unlock the screen.
Unlock the screen
Drag the lock icon to the unlock icon on the right. The screen is unlocked.
Browse the main screen
Swipe left or right on the main screen. Tap to view all applications.
Status and Notifications
Status and notification icons
The status bar is at the bottom of the screen, displaying the media volume, network status, battery
status, and time. Notification icons may appear on the status bar when some applications are used.
The status icons and common notification icons are as follows.
Open the notification panel
When receiving notifications, you can open the notification panel to view messages, calendar, or
activity notifications. Tap on the rightmost part on the status bar to open the notification panel.
If multiple notifications are received, you can scroll down the panel to view all notifications.
Close the notification panel
Tap the Return icon.

Adding Widget Shortcuts
To add widgets to the main screen, tap to display the APPS page.
Tap , and touch and hold a widget.
You can slide your finger left or right to view more widgets.
Finger Touch
Tap: To enter a letter using a keyboard, to select an application or a setting item, or to use a button
on a screen, tap it.
Touch and hold: To display the options of an item such as the contact book or a link on a webpage,
touch and hold the item.
Quickly slide or slide: Quick sliding or sliding is dragging vertically or horizontally on the screen
with your fingers.
Drag: Before dragging an item, you must touch and hold the item, and you cannot release the item
until it is dragged to the required position.
Rotation: On most pages, the screen rotates from portrait to landscape or vice versa when you
rotate the tablet sideways. When entering letters, you can rotate the tablet sideways to use a larger
keyboard.
Copying Files from the Storage Card
You can copy audio files, pictures, and other files from the storage card to the internal storage.
1. Use the USB cable accessory to connect the tablet to a PC.
2. After is displayed on the status bar, open the notification panel, and tap USB connected.
3. Tap Turn on USB storage. After the icon turns from green to yellow, the PC identifies the tablet
as a removable disk.
4. Open the removable disk. You can perform the following operations:
Copy files from the PC to the root folders of the storage card.
Copy files from the storage card to folders in the PC or on the PC desktop.

5. After files are copied, remove the removable disk as prompted by the PC operating system and
disconnect the tablet from the PC.
6. If you need to read/write the storage card without disconnecting the tablet from the PC, open
the notification panel and tap Turn off USB storage.
NOTE: You can go to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging to enable data
communication between the tablet and PC.
Searching for Pictures and Webpages
You can use the quick search bar to search for information from the tablet or webpages.
1. Tap the Google icon in the upper left on the main screen to open the search page. When you
enter the search criterion, a list appears, displaying all items that meet the search criterion on
the tablet and Google webpage search suggestions. The suggested items vary according to the
options you select in the search settings. For details, see options in the search settings.
2. You can perform the following operations:
Tap an item from the list if the item is what you are searching for. Then, the item is opened in
the corresponding application.
If the list does not contain what you are searching for, tap to open a search page. The
webpage browser is opened, displaying Google webpage search results.
4 Personal Settings
Changing the Notification Alert
The tablet provides various ringtones for you. You can set your favorite ringtones. To change a
notification alert, perform the following operations:
1. Go to Settings > Sound > Default notification sound.
2. Select a ringtone from the displayed ringtone list.
3. Tap OK.

Changing a Wallpaper
You can change the style of the main screen by changing the wallpaper to your favorite picture, to
improve your experience. In addition to the provided pictures, you can select a picture taken using
the built-in camera as the wallpaper.
To change the main screen and lock screen wallpapers, perform the following operations:
1. Touch and hold the main screen.
2. Select an option from the displayed setting bar.
Gallery: Select a picture that is taken using the built-in camera or copied to storage card. Crop the
picture and tap OK.
Wallpapers: Select a provided picture and tap Set wallpaper.
Live Wallpapers: Select a provided picture and tap Set wallpaper.
Setting Widgets
Widgets allow you to view all important information and media content at a glance on the main
screen. Some widgets have already been added on the main screen for you. You can add or
download more widgets to the main screen.
Add a widget to the main screen
The tablet provides multiple widgets such as calendar, music player, and gallery.
1. Move the widget to an available position. For how to look for available positions, see the
section "Browse the main screen."
2. Tap on the main screen to open the APPS page. Tap to view all widgets.
3. Touch and hold the required widget.
Tips: To remove a widget from the main screen, touch and hold the widget, drag the widget to the
cross icon after the cross icon appears, and release the widget when it turns red.
Add a folder to the main screen
You can use folders to categorize applications and shortcuts to keep items in order on the main
screen Drag shortcuts to be categorized. Drag an icon to another. A folder containing the two icons

is automatically created.
Rename a folder
Tap the created folder and tap Unnamed Folder. The keyboard is displayed, and you can enter a
folder name.
Rearranging or Removing Widgets or Icons
You can rearrange widgets and icons on the main screen.
Move widgets or icons
1. Touch and hold a widget or icon. Drag the widget or icon to the required position on the main
screen.
2. Drag a widget or icon to the right edge of the rightmost screen until a new screen panel appears,
and you can drag the widget or icon to the new screen panel.
3. Release the widget or icon after dragging it to the required position. If a message indicating
that there is no space for the widget or icon is displayed after you release it, drag it to another
screen panel.
Remove widgets or icons
1. Touch and hold a widget or icon.
2. Drag the widget or icon to the cross icon in the upper middle.
3. Release the widget or icon after it turns red.
5 Webpage Browsing
You can access the Internet using a browser. Tap Browser to open the browser.

6 Application Management
TheAndroid electronic store provides a large number of free and paid third-party applications. You
can download your favorite applications to the tablet.
Installation and Uninstallation
Installation
To install a third-party application, perform the following operations:
1. Download a required third-party application to the internal storage or the storage card, or copy
a downloaded application from a PC to the internal storage or storage card.
2. Open the file manager application.
3. Install the third-party application in the file manager.
Uninstallation
Open the file manager application and uninstall an application in the file manager, or go to
Settings > Apps to uninstall an application.

7 Common Applications
Music Player
You can use a music player to play music after copying audio files to the internal storage or storage
card. For details about how to copy files, see the section "Copying Files from the Storage Card."
The tablet supports audio files of various formats including MP3, WAV, AC3, AAC, OGG, RA,
AMR, M4a, and WMA.
1. Tap on the main screen to open the music player.
2. Tap a song to play it.
3. If the screen is locked when the song is played, press the Power button to unlock the screen,
open the notification panel, and tap the song.
The playing page is displayed, and the following control items are displayed.
Video Player
Tap on the main screen, tap the video player icon, and tap a video. The video playing page is
displayed.

When there are multiple videos, tap to view video thumbnails or a detailed video list.
Double-tap a video file to play it. Tap the screen when a video file is being played. The playing
control items shown in the following figure are displayed.
To exit from the video player, tap the Return button.
Gallery
You can use the Gallery application to view pictures or videos that are downloaded to or stored
inthe storage, perform basic operationssuch as rotation and cropping on pictures in the storage,
easily set a picture as the image or wallpaper of a contact person, and share pictures with
friends.
Tap the Gallery icon. The album page appears, displaying all your pictures and videos by
album.
The tablet identifies the folders containing pictures or videos as albums and lists the albums
under the pre-configured album. The name of an album is the actual folder name.
To view pictures or videos in an album, tap the album. If there are pictures or videos in the root
path of the storage, the files are categorized into other albums.

Camera
Tap to open the photo taking or video recording page. Tap to switch to the front camera.
Browse pictures
Tap an album and tap to display all pictures in the album as a slideshow.
Tap a picture, swipe right to view the previous picture, and swipe left to view the next picture.
Spread two fingers apart to zoom in and pinch the two fingers together to zoom out.
Tap to share a picture by email or microblog.
Tap to delete or cancel a picture.
Tap to display the control menu.
Edit a picture
You can tap Details to understand the type, date, and album of the picture.
Tap Set picture as to set the picture as a wallpaper or contact person image.
Tap Edit or Crop.
A cutting rectangle is displayed. To adjust the size of the rectangle, hold the edge of the
rectangle and drag an arrow inwards or outwards after arrows appear.
Drag the cutting rectangle to the area that you want to reserve. Tap OK.
The edited picture is saved. The edited picture is saved as a duplicate. The original picture
remains the same.
Browse or play video and music
You can browse video and audio files in the gallery.
In the gallery, tap an album that contains video or audio files to browse the files.
Double-tap a video or audio file to play it. During the playing, tap the playing page to display
the video or audio playing control items.
To stop playing a video or audio file, touch the screen and tap the Return icon.

File Manager
Tap the file manager icon to open the file manager.
On the file manager page, you can find the required files, delete, copy, or move files in the internal
storage, create and rename a folder, or uninstall a third-party application.
Chatting Tools
You can download chatting tools such as Fring, QQ, and MSN.
Email
Tap on the main screen and tap the Email icon to open the Email page. You can perform the
following operations:
Set an email account.
Create a new email account.
Receive and send an email.
Download or open an attachment.
Tips: Tap the menu icon to display the shortcut menu.
8 Settings
Modify the tablet settings on the Settings page. Tap Settings on the main screen to open the Settings
page.
