1. PARTS LIST
Identify the main parts of the stand:
•2 x main leg sections (left-hand and right-hand), with cut-out to take horizontal spar
•2 x leg base sections or feet with castors pre-attached (identical)
•1 x cross spar section
•8 x split washers
•8 x M6 cheese head hexagon drive black bolts
•2 x M5 hexagon drive scanner retaining bolts
•1 x 5mm hexagon key (to tighten bolts)
Each leg upright is delivered with the scanner mounting section (leg upper) pre-assembled. First complete each upright
by attaching the leg lower section to the leg upright - see item 3.
NOTE: The SmartLF stand is designed to lean BACKWARDS away from the operator.
2. ASSEMBLY OF THE LEG SECTIONS
Identify the leg lower sections. These have an elliptical cut-out to accept each leg upright. Insert the end of the leg
upright into the elliptical cut-out of the leg lower so that it leans backwards. Now secure the leg upright in the leg lower
using two long bolts with spring washers (working from underneath the leg lower section). Tighten the bolts with the
hexagon key provided.
You should now have two ‘Z’ leg sections which are almost identical except for the cut-outs in the sides of each upright
which are used to locate the cross spar.
3. ATTACHING THE STAND CROSS SPAR
Locate the stand cross spar and offer this to the cut-out in the flank of one of the assembled upright assemblies. Attach
the upright assembly (leg) to the cross spar by bolting through into the cross spar section from the leg outside flank with
two long bolts. See diagram.
Repeat this procedure to fix the other end of the cross spar to the opposite leg upright. You may need some help.
4. CHECKING FOR TIGHTNESS
The stand should now be checked thoroughly for bolt security by re-tightening each bolt in turn. The stand should be
firm.
5. MOUNTING THE SCANNER ON THE STAND
With the help of an assistant lift the scanner onto the stand locating the rubber desk feet into the large holes in the leg
top sections. WARNING. Care should be taken not to trap fingers or to rest the scanner on the stand in an unstable way
during this procedure. Place the scanner on the stand so that the rear of the scanner overhangs the longer part of the
leg lower section. Check to see that all four rubber feet are correctly seated (hidden) inside the location holes.
THE SCANNER MUST BE SECURED TO THE
FLOOR STAND USING THE M5 HEXAGON DRIVE
