1.FIELDOFAPPLICATIONANDUSE
ThefollowingoperatinginstructionsapplytotheElectronicSpeedControlfromCOMEXEUROPES.r.l..
Theelectronicspeedinquestion,hereaftercalledESC,canbeusedonlyforitsintendeduseandindicatedinthis
ManualofUse,orrathertheregulationofthespeedoftherotationofElectricfansmanufacturedbyComex
EuropeS.r.l.andappliedonvehicleswithelectricDCcurrent,withpowersupplyvoltagewithinthefieldofwork
anticipatedfortheESC.
nyuseforotherpurposesisthereforeconsideredinappropriate.Properusagealsoentailscompliancewithall
relateddocumentation.Itisnotpermittedtomakechangesortransformations.
TheESCallowsyoutopass,fromclassicalmanagementoftheelectricfanson/off,toasmartmanagementwith
variablespeedaccordingtotherealneedsofheatexchangeofthevehicleorofthesystem.
OneofthemainfeaturesisthefunctionSOFT‐STARTthatallowstheproducttostarttherotationwithan
accelerationrampandthenreachthespeedofrotationproportionaltothetemperature.SOFTSTARTfunction
eliminatestheproblemofpeakcurrentatstart.
ThespeedofrotationoftheelectricfanistotallymanagedbytheESC,whichaccordingtothesignalreceivedis
abletoincreaseordecreasetherpm.(ExceptforversionwithsignalfromThermostat)
Anintelligentmanagementoftheelectricfanspeedallowsforasmootherandmoregradualtrendofthe
temperatureinthesystemtoavoidunnecessaryheatstress.
AmongthevariousoptionsoftheESCitistoreportthepossibilitytomanagetheReverseofrotationofthe
electricfanandinsodoingtokeepcleanthesurfaceoftheradiator,thisfunctionisparticularlyusefulforall
thoseapplicationsthatoperateinworkenvironmentswithpossibilityofaccumulationofmaterialontheopposite
sideoftheradiator(forexample,leavesandstraw)causingareductionoftheairpassagethroughtheradiator.
Thereverserotationfunctionisablealsotomaintainunalteredthethermalexchangecapacityoftheradiatorand
oftheelectricfan.

ESC–SR=ElectronicSpeedControlwithStandardRotation
ESC–RR1=ElectronicSpeedControlwithReverseRotationtype_1‐Thereverserotationstartsonlywhenthe
electricfanstopstherotationaccordingtothetemperatureset
ESC–RR2=ElectronicSpeedControlwithReverseRotationtype_2‐Thereverserotationstartsautomatically
(evenifthetemperatureisstillhigh)withacycletimesetinthesoftwareoftheelectronicspeedcontrol.
Example:10min.inStandardRotation+30sec.inReverseRotation.
PleaseNote:Inordertoavoiddamagetothemechanicalpartsinmotion,foreachReverseCycleareplanned
rampsofdecelerationandaccelerationandateachchangeofdirectionofrotationofthebladeisexpecteda
periodofcompletestopoftheblade.
2.GENERALWARNINGS
TheESCisacomponentsourceofrisksmainlyofelectricalorigin,therefore,ifusedimproperly,itcancreate
dangerousconditionsandcauseharmtopeople,animalsandthings.

safetyrequirements.SItdeclinesallresponsibilityforimproperuseandfailuretoobservethesafetydirectives
inforceconcerningelectricalmaterial.

DirectiveREACH1907/2006/CEconcerningtheRegistration,Evaluation,AuthorizationandRestrictionof
Chemicals(REACH),establishingaEuropeanChemicalsAgency,amendingDirective1999/45/CEandthat
