The following headings are displayed in the Infection Report window:
•Filename: Displays the name and path of the infected item that was detected.
•Infection: Gives the name of the virus that was detected. You will notice that this is in the
form of a hyperlink. If you are connected to the Internet, you can click this link to bring up
further detailed information about the virus detected.
•Type: The type of item detected. For example, file or email.
•Status: The status of the infected item. This can include cleaned, removed, quarantined
and infected.
•Info: This is also a hyperlink. If you click the info link, another window will appear giving
more detailed information about the particular infected item you have highlighted. This is
called the Quarantine Information window.
The Infection Report Window will also display the total number of infected items relating to
that particular scan.
Disabling and Snoozing Real-time Protection
EZ Antivirus provides the flexibility to disable part of, or all of the real-time protection, or
temporarily disable it for a set period of time. Although it is not recommended to completely
disable the real-time protection, you may need to switch it off for various purposes.
Disabling the Real-Time Protection
Real-time File Scanner
•Choose the Scan Settings button from the Virus Scanning tab.
•In the Real-time Scanner row, de-select the Enable checkbox.
•Click the OK button.
•EZ Antivirus will prompt you to re-start your computer.
Real-time Email Scanner
•Choose the Scan Settings button from the Virus Scanning tab.
•In the Email Scanner row, de-select the Enable checkbox.
•Click the OK button.
•EZ Antivirus will prompt you to re-start your computer.
Temporarily Disabling the Real-time Protection (Snoozing)
There are several scenarios where you may wish to disable your antivirus software. For example,
the installation of some software may cause complications if your antivirus software is checking
system critical files. The Snooze option can be used to temporarily suspend your real-time
protection while the software is being installed.
To use the snooze option, right-click the EZ Antivirus tray icon, and select Snooze Antivirus
Protection. The Snooze dialog box will appear.
