Snelstart handleiding
Hartelijk gefeliciteerd met de aanschaf van uw
VoIP Telefoon Adapter.
In de bijgaande Snelstart handleiding wordt stap voor stap uitgelegd hoe u de
Conceptronic VoIP Telefoon Adapter installeert.
Ingeval van problemen adviseren wij u onze support-site te bezoeken (ga naar:
www.conceptronic.net en klik op ‘Support’). Hier vindt u een database met
veelgestelde vragen waar u hoogstwaarschijnlijk de oplossing voor uw probleem
kunt vinden.

Bij software/drivers installatie: Het is mogelijk dat onderstaande installatie iets
afwijkt van de installatie op uw computer. Dit is afhankelijk van de Windows
versie die u gebruikt.

3. De VoIP Telefoon Adapter in gebruik nemen
De VoIP Telefoon adapter moet tussen uw telefoon en uw telefoonlijn
aangesloten worden. De installatie maakt het mogelijk om telefoongesprekken
via VoIP (Voice over IP) en via normale telefoonlijnen te maken.
Verbindings Diagram
1. Verbind één van de meegeleverde RJ-11 kabels aan de ‘Phone’ poort van
de VoIP Telefoon adapter en uw normale telefoon.
2. Verbind de 2e meegeleverde RJ-11 kabel aan de “Line” poort van de VoIP
Telefoon adapter en uw analoge telefoonlijn verbinding.
3. Verbind de USB kabel aan de “USB” poort van de VoIP Telefoon Adapter
en naar een vrije USB poort op uw computer.

Notitie:
Wanneer uw computer aanstaat en u verbind het apparaat met de
USB kabel zal ‘Nieuw Hardware Gevonden’ getoond worden. Druk op
‘Annuleren’ om de installatie af te breken.

4. Drivers & Software voor de VoIP Telefoon Adapter installeren
De meegeleverde Drivers & Software op de product CD-ROM werkt samen met
de VoIP Telefoon Adapter en Skype™. Voordat u de VoIP telefoon adapter kan
gaan gebruiken dient Skype op uw computer te zijn geïnstalleerd.
U kunt de laatste versie van Skype™ downloaden van http://www.skype.com
of klik op de “Visit Skype™ Website” vanuit het Autorun menu van de product
CD-ROM die meegeleverd is.
U kan de installatie vervolgen wanneer Skype™ is geïnstalleerd.
Stop de Product CD-ROM in uw CD-ROM speler. De CVOIPAU autorun menu zal
automatisch openen. Wanneer dit menu niet automatisch verschijnt kunt u
Windows Explorer gebruiken om de “Autorun.exe” vanaf CD-ROM op te
starten.
1. Selecteer the optie “Install Drivers & Software” vanuit het Autorun
Menu.

2. De Setup wizard zal op uw scherm verschijnen. Klik op “OK” om de VoIP
adapter te installeren.
De Setup Wizard zal de Drivers & Software op uw computer installeren.
De Setup Wizard zal verschillende installatie schermen tonen alsmede 2 “New
Hardware Wizard” schermen. U kunt deze schermen negeren, deze worden
door de Setup Wizard afgehandeld.
Wanneer de installatie van de Drivers & Software klaar is en u heeft Skype™
op de achtergrond draaien zal de volgende melding verschijnen:
3. Selecteer de optie “Allow this program to use Skype” en druk op “OK”.
Notitie:
Wanneer de Setup Wizard is gestart en
de VoIP telefoon
adapter niet verbonden is zal het volgende bericht
verschijnen: 'Kan het apparaat niet vinden'. Druk op "OK",
verbind de VOIP adapter aan uw computer en herhaal stap 1
om de Setu

Wizard weer te starten.

4. De installatie is voltooid. Druk op “OK” om uw computer te herstarten.
5. Gateway Software Status
Wanneer uw computer is herstart verschijnt het Conceptronic icoon in de
systeembalk. Het icon toont de status van de VoIP systeem software zoals
hieronder beschreven:
Geel Icoon:
Skype™ is gestart en de CVOIPAU
werkt correct.
Rood Icoon, “Skype Disconnected” bericht:
Skype™ is niet gestart of de VoIP software mag Skype niet gebruiken.
Rood Icoon, “Conceptronic Device Not Present” bericht:
De CVOIPAU is niet verbonden aan uw computer.
Notitie:
Als Skype™ niet op de achtergrond draait tijdens de
installatie zal u
dit bericht niet zien. Het bovenstaande bericht zal de eerste keer nadat u
Skype™ heeft opgestart verschijnen nadat u de installatie van de Drivers &
Software heeft voltooid. Vervolg met stap 4 om de installatie te voltooien.

6. Audio instellingen van Windows & Skype veranderen
6.1 Het veranderen van de Windows Audio instellingen
Wanneer de VoIP telefoon adapter geïnstalleerd is op uw computer is het
mogelijk dat de standaard Audio instellingen van Windows veranderd zijn in
de CVOIPAU waarden. Dit betekent dat alle geluiden (notificatie, muziek,
etc.) afgespeeld worden via de VoIP telefoon adapter. U kunt deze
instellingen weer terug zetten via het configuratiescherm van Windows.
1. Klik op “Start” Æ“Run” en geef het volgende commando:
“MMSYS.CPL”
De “Eigenschappen voor Geluiden en audio apparaten” zal getoond worden
op uw scherm.
1. Selecteer de optie “Audio”.
2. Controleer of de opties “Afspelen van geluid” en “Opnemen van geluid”
verwijzen naar uw standaard geluidskaart. Wanneer de “CVOIPAU” als
standaard apparaat is geselecteerd zal u deze moeten wijzigen in uw
standaard geluidskaart.
(In ons voorbeeld is de standaard soundkaart een Realtek geluidskaart. Uw systeem kan
een ander type of merk geluidskaart gebruiken).

3. Klik op “Toepassen” als u de instellingen heeft gewijzigd.
4. Klik op “OK” om het eigenschappen scherm te sluiten.
6.2 Wijzigen van de audio instellingen in Skype™
Wanneer de standaard Windows Audio instellingen zijn herstelt moet u de
instellingen van Skype™ nog even nalopen. (wanneer noodzakelijk).
1. Open de Skype™ Applicatie.
2. Selecteer in het Menu “Acties”, “Instellingen”.
3. Selecteer de optie “Audioapparaten” aan de linkerkant
4. Verander de opties: Inkomend geluid en Uitgaand geluid naar “CVOIPAU
Virtual Audio Device”.
5. Druk op “OK” om de gewijzigde audio instellingen te activeren.
De Audio instellingen voor zowel Windows & Skype™ zijn nu juist ingesteld
om in combinatie met uw VoIP telefoon adapter gebruikt te worden.

7. De VoIP Telefoon adapter gebruiken
7.1 Uitgaande telefoongesprekken via de analoge telefoonlijn
De VoIP telefoon adapter zal de analoge telefoonlijn standaard gebruiken om
uitgaande telefoongesprekken te maken.
7.2 Uitgaande gesprekken via Skype™.
Om een Skype™ gesprek met uw telefoon te maken drukt u twee keer op de #
toets van uw telefoon ( # # ). De VoIP adapter zal nu schakelen naar de VoIP
telefoonlijn. Geef nu het snelkeuze nummer van uw Skype™ contact in en druk
op de * (ster) toets van uw telefoon. Uw Skype™ contact wordt nu gebeld.
7.3 Inkomende gesprekken via uw normale telefoon of Skype™
Wanneer u een inkomend gesprek ontvangt (via uw normale telefoonlijn of
Skype™) zal uw telefoon normaal rinkelen. Neem de telefoon op om deze te
beantwoorden.
7.4 Schakelen tussen VoIP- en normale gesprekken
Wanneer u een normaal telefoongesprek voert kunt u nog steeds een Skype™
gesprek ontvangen (of wanneer u Skype™ gebruikt kunt u nog steeds een
normaal gesprek ontvangen).
De VoIP telefoon adapter zal via een geluidstoon aangeven dat er een nieuw
inkomend gesprek is. U kan het volgende doen:

De VoIP adapter werkt met de snelkeuzenummers van Skype
™
. U
dient eerst een snelkeuzenummer toewijzen aan uw contactpersoon
voordat deze via de VoIP telefoon adapter gebeld kan worden. Om
een snelkeuzenummer toe te wijzen klikt u met de rechtermuistoets
op de contactpersoon en selecteert u de functie “Ken
snelkeuzenummer toe”.

Negeer het inkomende telefoongesprek.
Druk “#1” in op uw toestel om het huidige gesprek in de wachtstand te
zetten om over te schakelen naar het andere gesprek.
Druk “##” in op uw toestel om het huidige gesprek te beëindigen en over te
schakelen naar het inkomend gesprek.
Druk “#2” in op uw toestel om een “conferentie gesprek” te voeren met
beide contacten.
Wanneer u kiest om het huidige gesprek in de wachtstand te zetten heeft u de
volgende opties beschikbaar:
Druk “#1” in op uw toestel om het huidige gesprek in de wachtstand te
zetten om over te schakelen naar het andere gesprek.
Druk “##” in op uw toestel om het huidige gesprek te beëindigen en over te
schakelen naar het inkomend gesprek.
Druk “#2” in op uw toestel om een “conferentie gesprek” te voeren met
beide contacten.
Notitie:
Wanneer u belt via uw analoge toestel
en u ontvangt een Skype™
gesprek dan kunt u de gebruikersnaam in het scherm van uw toestel
zien wanneer deze over een scherm met nummer herkenning
beschikt.

3. Connecting the VoIP Telephone Adapter
The VoIP Telephone adapter is installed between your phone and the phone
line. This installation makes it possible to make calls through VoIP and through
the normal phone line.
Connection Diagram
1. Connect one of the RJ-11 Cables to the “Phone” port of the VoIP
Telephone Adapter and to your analog phone.
2. Connect one of the RJ-11 Cables to the “Line” port of the VoIP Telephone
Adapter and to your analog phone line connection.
3. onnect the USB Cable to the “USB” port of the VoIP Telephone Adapter
and to a free USB port on your computer.

Note: If your computer is already on when connecting the device, you will
notice a “New Hardware Wizard”. Click “Cancel” in the wizard
before you proceed with “Chapter 4”.

4. Installing the Drivers & Software for the VoIP Telephone Adapter
The bundled Drivers & Software on the product CD-ROM interact between the
VoIP Telephone Adapter and Skype™. Before you can use the VoIP Telephone
Adapter and the bundled software, you need to have Skype™ installed on your
computer.
You can download the Skype™ application on http://www.skype.com, or click
the “Visit Skype™ Website” in the Autorun Menu of the Product CD-ROM.
You can continue the installation of the Drivers & Gateway software when
Skype™ is installed.
Insert the Product CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. The CVOIPAU Menu should
appear automatically.
If the Menu does not appear, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the CD-ROM
and execute “Autorun.exe”.
1. Select the option “Install Drivers & Software” in the Autorun Menu.

2. The Setup wizard will appear on your screen. Click “OK” to start the
installation of the VoIP Telephone Adapter.
The Setup Wizard will automatically install the Drivers & Software on your
computer. The Setup Wizard will display several installation screens and 2
“New Hardware Wizard” screens. You can ignore these screens. They are
automatically handled by the Setup Wizard.
When the installation of the Drivers & Software is complete and you have
Skype™ running in the background, the following message will appear:
3. Select the option “Allow this program to use Skype” and click “OK”.
Note: If the Setup Wizard is started and the VoIP Telephone Adapter
is not connected, you will get the message “Can’t find
device”. Click “OK”, connect the VoIP Telephone Adapter to
your computer and repeat Step 1 to start the Setup Wizard

4. The installation process is complete. Click “OK” to reboot your computer.
5. Gateway Software Status
When the reboot is completed and your computer is back in Windows, you will
see the Conceptronic Icon in your System Tray. The Icon displays the status of
the Gateway Software as shown below:
Yellow Icon:
Skype™ is running and the CVOIPAU
is working correctly.
Red Icon, “Skype Disconnected” message:
Skype™ is not running or the Gateway
is not authorized in Skype™.
Red Icon, “Conceptronic Device Not Present” message:
The CVOIPAU is not connected to
the computer.
Note: If Skype™ is not running at the background during installation you
will not see this message. This message will appear the first time you
start Skype™ after the installation of the Drivers & Software.

6. Changing the Windows & Skype™ Audio Settings
6.1 Changing Windows Audio Settings
When the VoIP Telephone Adapter is installed on your computer it is possible
that the default Audio Settings of Windows are changed to the CVOIPAU.
This means that all sounds (notifications, music, etc.) will be played through
the VoIP Telephone Adapter. You can change the settings back to your
soundcard through the Windows Control Panel.
1. Click “Start” Æ“Run” and execute the command “MMSYS.CPL”.
The “Sounds and Audio Devices Properties” will appear on your screen.
2. Select the page “Audio”.
3. Check if the “Sound Playback” and “Sound Recording” device are set to
your default soundcard. If the “CVOIPAU” is selected as default device
you need to set the default devices back to your soundcard.
(In this example, the default soundcard is a Realtek card. Your system can have
another type or brand soundcard).

4. Click “Apply” if you have changed settings.
5. Click “OK” to close the Properties window.
6.2 Changing Skype™ Audio Settings
When the default Windows Audio Settings are restored you need to check and
modify the Skype™ Audio Settings (if needed).
1. Open the Skype™ Application.
2. In the Menu, select “Tools”, “Options”.
3. Select the option “Sound Devices” on the left.
4. Change the options Audio In, and Audio Out to “CVOIPAU Virtual Audio
Device”.
5. Click “Save” to save the adjusted Audio Settings and return to Skype™.
The Audio Settings for Windows & Skype™ are now configured for
the correct use of the VoIP Telephone Adapter.

7. Using the VoIP Telephone Adapter
7.1 Outgoing Calls through your analog line
The VoIP Telephone Adapter will use the analog phone line as default line for
your outgoing calls.
7.2 Outgoing Calls through Skype™.
To make a Skype™ call with your phone, press # # on the keypad of the phone.
The VoIP Adapter will switch from the phone line to the VoIP Line.
Enter the Speed Dial Number for your Skype Contact and press *on the keypad
of your phone.
Your Skype Contact will be called.
7.3 Incoming Calls through your analog line or Skype™.
When you receive an incoming call (through your analog line or Skype™), the
phone rings as usual. Pick up the phone to answer the call.
7.4 Switching between VoIP and Regular Calls
When you are using your Analog Line you can still receive a Skype™ call (or
when you are using Skype™ you can still receive a regular call).
The VoIP Telephone Adapter will indicate an incoming call through an audible
call waiting tone. You can now do the following:
Ignore the incoming call
Press “#1” on the keypad of your phone to place the current call “On-Hold”
and switch to the other call.
Note: The VoIP Adapter works with Speed Dial numbers for Skype
™
. You
must assign a Speed Dial number to your contacts before you can call
them. To assign a Speed Dial number, right click your contact in
Skype™ and select “Set Speed Dial”.

Press “##” on the keypad of your phone to terminate the current call and
switch to the other call.
Press “#2” on the keypad of your phone to initiate “3-way Calling”; you can
now conference with both contacts.
When you have chosen to place the current call “On-Hold”, you have the
following options available:
Press “#1” on the keypad of your phone to place the current call “On-Hold”
and switch to the other call.
Press “##” on the keypad of your phone to terminate the current call and
switch to the other call.
Press “#2” on the keypad of your phone to initiate “3-way Calling”; you can
now conference with both contacts.
Note: When you are calling through the analog phone line and you receive
a Skype™ call, you can see the Skype™ username on your telephone if
it has an caller ID.
