A) UNPACKINGCABINET‐PRE‐INSTALLATIONINSPECTION
Caution:Immediatelydiscardpolyethylenecabinetbaguponunpacking&removal!Bagisasuffocationhazard
 andmustbekeptawayfromsmallchildrenand/orpets.
1. Onceouterboxcoverhasbeenremoved,removepolystyrenecornerprotectorsfrominsidetopofbox.Pullup
polyethylenebagawayfromcabinetandrecycleallpackagingmaterialswheneverpossible.
2. Usingtwoormorepeople,carefullyliftcabinetoutofcorrugatetrayandontofloor.Itisrecommendedtolaythe
packagingmaterialsuppliedwiththecabinetontothefloorinordertoprotecttheundersideofthecabinetduring
installation.
3. Inspectoutercabinetsurfacesforanyvisibledamages.Inspectthehardwarebagsuppliedwiththiscabinetandverify
thatallhardwareisaccountedfor.Shouldtherebemissinghardwareorvisibledamagestothecabinet,immediately
contactyourdealerorthefactorypriortoinstallation.
4. Donotremovetheprotectivedoorfilmatthistime.Thisfilmwillactasaprotectionagainstlightscratchesorscuffs
thatmayinadvertentlyhappenduringtheinstallationprocess.Onlyonceinstallationiscompletecanthisfilmbe
removed.
5. Peelawaybluetapefromrecessedfinger‐pullandremovekey.


B) MOUNTINGCABINETTOWOODSTUDDEDWALL
Caution:TippingHazard!Priortoinstallingandduetotheheavyweightoftheoverheaddoor,exerciseextreme
 cautionwhenopening.Failuretoobservethisproceduremayresultininjuryand/ordamagetocabinet!
1. Thisprocedureisintendedforwall‐mountingacabinettoawood‐studdedwall.Ifmetalstudsarepresent,donotwall‐
mountcabinetuntiladequatestudandwallreinforcementisachievedbyaskilledandqualifiedcarpenter.Mounting
wallmustbestraightandplumb.Ifnecessary,usewoodenshimstoadjustthepositionofthecabinettothewall.
2. Usingastudfinderandleadpencil,markexactcenterpositionofverticalwallstudswherecabinetistobeinstalled.
3. Unlockandopenoverheaddoor.Tofacilitatemounting,youmaywishtoremovethecabinetdooratthistimeto
accesstheperforatedslotsatthetop&bottomofthecabinetback.(Forremovalofdoor,refertostepH)
4. Usingtwoormorepersons,placecabinetininstallationpositionanduseaspiritleveltolevelcabinet.
5. Locatethepenciledlocationsofthestudwallcenters.
6. Markdesiredlocationofholestobedrilledusingtheperforatedslotsatthecabinetbackasatemplate.Useanelectric
drillwitha5/32”drillbittopre‐drillwoodstuds.Bypre‐drillingthewoodstuds,thereislesslikelihoodofthestuds
splittingwhenusingthelagbolts.
7. Usingthefour(4)lagboltsandfenderwashers,fastencabinettowallbydrivingthelagboltsthroughtheperforated
holesandintothewallstudswitharatchetwrenchand7/16”socket.Donotfullytightenlagboltsatthistime.
8. Usingaspiritlevel,adjustcabinetpositionandfullytightenalllagbolts.Usecarenottoover‐tightenboltswhichmay
damageordeformthecabinetbackonanyunevenwallsurface.


C) MOUNTINGCABINETTOCONCRETEORMASONRYWALL
Caution:TippingHazard!Priortoinstallingandduetotheheavyweightoftheoverheaddoor,exerciseextreme
 cautionwhenopening.Failuretoobservethisproceduremayresultininjuryand/ordamagetocabinet!
Caution:Donotuseconcreteormasonryscrewstoinstallcabinet.Onlytheuseofapprovedlagboltswith
concreteshieldsormasonryanchorsareacceptableforconcrete/masonrywall‐mountingofcabinet.
Followthemanufacturer’sinstructionsheetaccompanyingconcreteshieldsand/ormasonryanchors.
1. Thisprocedureisintendedforwall‐mountingacabinettoconcreteormasonrysurfaces.Mountingwallmustbe
straightandplumb.Ifnecessary,usewoodenshimstoadjustthepositionofthecabinettothewall.
2. Unlock&openoverheaddoor.Tofacilitatemounting,youmaywishtoremovethecabinetdooratthistimetoaccess
theperforatedslotsatthetop&bottomofthecabinetback.(Forremovalofdoor,refertostepH)
3. Usingtwoormorepersons,placecabinetininstallationpositionanduseaspiritleveltolevelcabinet.
4. Markdesiredlocationofholestobedrilledusingtheperforatedslotsatthecabinetbackasatemplate.Remove
cabinetawayfromwallanduseapprovedmountinghardware(notincluded)withcorrecttoolingforthistypeof
installation.
5. Usingaspiritlevel,adjustcabinetpositiontowallandfullytightenallmountingboltsand/oranchors.Usecarenotto
over‐tightenboltswhichmaydamageordeformthecabinetbackonunevenwallsurface.









D) TWINNINGOFTWOORMORECABINETS
1. Allwallcabinetscomewithpre‐punchedtwinningholesonoppositesidesforeasymodulealignment&tomaintain
cabinetstability.Itisimperativethatallcabinetsbejoinedtogetherasthiswillcombinestructuralintegrityofthe
cabinetsasasetandwilleliminatepotentialsaggingandmisalignment.
2. Foreaseoftwinning,itisrecommendedtostarttheinstallationwiththecentercabinetandworkinanoutwards
directiononoppositesides.
3. Position2ndcabinetbesidefirstcabinetandrepeatlevelling/wallmountingprocedure.Verifythatbothcabinetsare
levelandfastenthemtogetherusingPhillipstrussscrewsandacornnutsthruthetwinningholes.Tightenfirmly.
4. Repeatthesameprocedureforeachadditionalcabinet.
5. Oncetwinningiscomplete,captheunusedtwinningholesoneachoftheendcabinetswiththeplasticholeplugs.


E) TOP‐MOUNTINGHI‐KAB+/HI‐KAB+KOMPACTMODULETODUO‐KAB
1. IfDUO‐KABmoduleisequippedwithanescutcheontrimpanel,removefive(5)screwsandremovepanel.
2. WithHI‐KAB+orHI‐KAB+KOMPACTmodulerestingonthefourpolystyrenecornerpackagingprotectors,open
overheaddooranddrillone(1)5/32”holecompletelythrougheachbottomcornerofcabinetfloor.Removeallburrs
fromholes.(Ifrequired,refertostepHfordoorremovalprocedure)
3. MountHI‐KAB+orHI‐KAB+KOMPACTmoduleontopofassembledDUO‐KAB.VerifythatallfoursidesofHI‐KAB+and
DUO‐KABcabinetsareflush.UsinganelectricdrillandPhillipsdriverbit,installfour(4)No.8x1‐1/4”self‐drillingscrews
throughdrilledholesandintotopofDUO‐KABmodule.Donotovertightenscrewssoastoavoiddistortionofcabinet
floor.


F) ADJUSTMENT&ALIGNMENTOFCABINETDOOR
1. Allcabinetdoorshavebeenpre‐adjusted&pre‐alignedatourfactory.Vibrationsduringtransportmayaffectthe
alignmentofdoors.Ifso,followthedirectionsbelowforadjustmentprocedure.
a) Toaccessadjustmentscrews,removehingearmtrimcapbycarefullypryingasmallflatheadscrewdriver
betweenhingearmandtrimcapuntilcappopsoff.
b) Forhorizontal(side‐to‐side)adjustment,useaPhillipsscrewdrivertoturnthecenterscrewonhingeplate
clockwise(leftdisplacement)orcounter‐clockwise(rightdisplacement).Repeatprocedureforotherhingeson
thesamedoor.
c) Forvertical(upordown)adjustment,turncenterscrewonhingearmclockwiseorcounter‐clockwise.
d) Fordepth(inwardsoroutwards)adjustment,turnendscrewonhingeplateclockwiseorcounter‐clockwise.
e) Replacehingearmtrimcapbyaligningmountingtabsoverhingearmapertureandsnapintoplace.

G) ADJUSTABLESHELFINSTALLATION&USE(N/AonKOMPACT&VENT‐KABMODULES)
1. Determinethedesiredheightofyouradjustableshelfwithinthecabinetinterior.Therearepre‐punchedslotsat½”
incrementslocatedateachinsidecornerofthecabinetinterior.
2. Installsuppliedpilastershelfclipsatdesiredheightbyanglingthetoptabofeachshelfclipintothedesiredslotand
loweringclipuntilbottomtabsnapsintolowerslot.Repeatthisprocedureatallfourcornersofthecabinet.
3. Onceallshelfclipsarefirmlyinplace,insertshelfintocabinetandontotheshelfclips.Visuallyverifythattheshelfis
levelandcornersdonotrock.Adjustheightofshelfclipsasrequired.
4. ShelfloadcapacityforHI‐KAB&HI‐KAB+modulesisload‐ratedfor50lbs.Load‐ratingisatermusedtodescribethe
maximumallowablestaticweightforagivencomponent.Whenloadingyourshelf,distributeunusuallyheavyloads
equallyamongtheshelfsurface.Byfollowingthisprocedure,youwillreducepotentialshelfdeflectionandavoid
mishapsthatcanoccurbytypicallyoverloadingshelves.





H) REMOVAL&RE‐MOUNTINGOFCABINETDOOR
Caution:TippingHazard!Priortoinstallingandduetotheheavyweightoftheoverheaddoor,exerciseextreme
 cautionwhenopening.Failuretoobservethisproceduremayresultininjuryand/ordamagetocabinet!
Caution:Donotattempttomanuallywork,flexoropenthedoorstaymechanism.Thisdevicecontainsastrong
 springthatisunderextremeloadandmaycauseinjuryifimproperlyhandled.
DoorRemoval:
1. Unlockandfullyopencabinetdoor.Removethreehingearmtrimcapsbycarefullypryingasmallflatheadscrewdriver
betweenhingearmandtrimcapuntilcappopsoff.
2. Usingtwoormorepersons,holddoorinfullyextendedpositionwhileanotherpersondisconnectsthedoorstay
mechanismfromthedoorswivelbracket.Gentlypullgreyplastictabbackwardsuntilyouareabletoslidedoorstay
armawayfromswivelbracket.Slowlylowerdoorstaytorest.
3. Slightlyangledoordownwards.StartingwiththeLHhinge(whileanotherpersonisholdingdoor),pushdownon
releasetabatbackofhingearmtoswivelhingeawayfromhingeplate.RepeatprocedureforRHhingeanddisconnect
centerhingelast.
4. Carefullyliftdoorawayfromcabinetexercisingextremecautionnottoscratchpaintedsurfaceswithexposedhinges.
Temporarilystorethedoorfaceupandawayfromworkarea.Donotstackdoorsontopofeachother.
DoorRe‐Mounting:
5. Verifythatallhingesareinafully‐openposition.
6. Slightlyangledoordownwards.Startingwiththecenterhinge(whileanotherpersonisholdingdoor),inserthingeonto
correspondinghingeplateuntilreleasetabclicksintoplace.Ensurethattheguidingpinsonthehingeplatealignwith
curvedslotsofhingewhenmountingontocabinet.Ifanaudible“click”isnotheard,verifyconnection.Repeat
procedureforLH&RHHinges.
7. Swingdoorstaymechanismarmupwardsandintodoorswivelbracketuntilitsnapsintoplace.Verifythatthedoor
stayarmisfullyinsertedintothegreyplastictabofthedoorswivelbracket.
8. Adjust&Aligndoorifnecessary.
9. Replaceallhingearmtrimcapsbyaligningmountingtabsoverhingearmopeningsandsnapthemintoplace.

I) ADJUSTMENTOFDOORSTAYMECHANISM
Caution:Donotattempttomanuallywork,flexoropenthedoorstaymechanism.Thisdeviceisfactory‐sealed,non‐
serviceableandrequiresnomaintenance.Itcontainsacompressionspringthatisunderextremetension
andmaycauseinjuryifimproperlyhandledortamperedwith.Donotlubricateanyinternalorexternal
 componentsofthedoorstaymechanismasthismayaffectliftingperformanceandmayresultininjury.
Caution:Thegreyplasticcovercapforthedoorstayadjustmentsocketmustbefirmlyinplace.Ifcovercapis
missingorlost,refrainfromoperatingoverheaddoorandimmediatelycontactyourdealerfora
replacementpart.Operatingtheoverheaddoorwithoutthiscomponentmayresultininjury!
1. Overtime,thetensionofthedoorstaymechanism’sinternalspringmaybeslightlyreducedandtheoverheaddoor
maynotremaininafull‐openposition;whichmaycauseaslightdrooping.However,asmalladjustmenttothedoor
staymechanismcanbeeasilyperformedtobringthedoorbacktoitsoriginalfull‐openposition.Thisoccurrenceis
normalandinnowayshoulditcauseworry.Droopingoftheoverheaddoormayalsooccurduetotheattachmentof
non‐factoryitemssuchasmagneticlabels,skinoverlays,metalorheavyvinyldecals,etc…
2. Locategreyplasticcovercapatbaseofdoorstaymechanism.Usingasmallflatscrewdriver,removecovercapto
revealhexsocketwithincrementedadjustmentdial.
3. Toincreasedoorlifttension,holddoorwithonehandandinserta10mmhexkeywrenchintosocket.Rotatehex
socketclockwisetothenexthighersetting.Todecreasedoorlifttension,rotatehexsocketcounter‐clockwisetoa
lowersetting.Factoryadjustmentofthedoorstaymechanismisdependentuponmaterialsusedondoorpanel(ex:
Stainless‐steelvs.paintedfrontpanels)andcanvaryfromasettingofno.9tono.12ontheadjustmentdial.
4. Replacegreyplasticcovercapontobaseofdoorstaymechanism.Ensurethatthecapisfirmlyinplace.















J) VENT‐KABINSTALLATION
Caution:AllelectricalwiringandwiringconnectionstoVENT‐KABmodulemustbeperformedbyalicensed
andqualifiedelectrician.Followallnationalbuildingandelectricalcodes.
1. Tomountcabinetonwall,followtheHI‐KABinstallationproceduresasoutlinedinstepsB,C&D.
2. Havealicensedelectricianpre‐wireafused15‐amp,115voltACpowerlinetoapre‐determinedlocationatthebackof
theVENT‐KABmodule.Aseachinstallationvaries,theexactlocationofwherethewiremustenterthecabinetback
mustbedeterminedon‐site.Markcabinetanddrillanappropriate13/16”diameterholeatthislocationtofita
standardUL‐ratedelectricalsqueezeconnectororchassisgrommet.Routewirethroughthisopeningandconnectto
junctionbox.
3. Ifanexteriorductconnectiontoanoutsidewallisdesired,limitthetotallengthofductworktoamaximumofsix(6)
feetof7”diameterrigidductingandone(1)90°elbow.Forexteriorductconnections,removedischargegrilleattopof
VENT‐KABmoduleandinstalla10”x4”universalbootwitha7”diameterroundconnector.Followalllocaland
nationalbuildingcodeswheninstallingductworktoanexteriorwall.



K) MOLDEDT‐HANDLEASS’YINSTALLATION(STANDARDONHI‐KAB+MODULE)
1. Openoverheaddoorandlocatesparefactory‐installedrivetnutonright‐sideofdoor.Usingthesupplied8‐32machine
screwanda3/32”hexkeywrench,fastentriangularcablebrackettorivetnut.Tightenfirmly.
2. Whennotinuse,T‐handlecanbedockedontothedoorpanel.Todockthehandle,simplyinsertnibonbackofhandle
intopre‐puncheddockinghole.Applylightinwardpressuretoretaininplace.



L) LOCKING/UNLOCKINGYOURCABINETDOOR
Note:Exercisecareandgoodjudgmentwhenstoringhazardouschemicals,firearmsorotherdangerousitemsinside
anylockablecabinet.
Unlocking:
1. Tounlockyourwallcabinetdoor,holdkeybykeyhandlewithConturlogofacingdownwards.
2. Fullyinsertflatportionofkeyintokeyslotandrotate90°towardstheright.
3. Oncecabinetdoorisunlocked,keycanberemovedfromlockorleftinthis“parked”position.
Locking:
1. Tolockyourwallcabinetdoor,holdkeybykeyhandlewithConturlogofacingdownwards.
2. Fullyinsertflatportionofkeyintokeyslotandrotate90°towardstheleft.
3. Oncecabinetdoorislocked,keycanberemovedfromlock.
4. WiththeHI‐KAB+module,youcanconvenientlystoreyourunusedkeyinsidetheT‐handle;locatedinsidetheunlocked
overheaddoor.











