Introduction
This unit is a plug-n-play real-time video capture box with a USB 2.0 interface to PC.
The user can preview, record or playback videos from a VCR, camcorder, or DVD on
their PC.
Precautions
1. Do not expose this product to direct sunlight.
2. Keep the unit away from radiator, heat sources and magnetic field.
3. Do not place it in very dusty or humid locations.
4. Use this unit in a horizontal position only.
5. Do not put heavy objects on top of the converter.
6. Put the unit in an open space that has good ventilation.
7. If the unit is acting abnormally keep the unit away from TV or other electronic
equipment.
8. Unplug the unit from the power supply when it is not to be used for a long period
of time.

1. Green L D- The led will light up when the unit has been turned on.

1. USB Port- This is the USB input port. Connect the port to your PC.

1. S-In- This is the S-Video Input port. Using the appropriate connector cable,
connect the input port to your video device.
2. V-In- This is the Composite Video Input port. Using the appropriate connector
cable, connect the input port to your video device.

- Hard Drive speed 5400 rpm.
- Graphic Card with 16MB memory or up.

USB-201 Device Driver Installation
1. Power OFF the computer with no USB201 connection.
2. Power ON the computer.
3. Connect USB201 to computers USB2.0 port using a USB cable.
4. Once USB201 is connected to the computer, the system will automatically detect
the new hardware and dialogue box will appear. Select [Install from a list or
specific location (Advanced)] and click [Next] button.
5. After the dialogue box shows up, place the attached installation disc into the CD-
ROM. If setup window appears from installation disc’s setup software, close it.
Select [Search for the best driver in these locations]. Select [Include this
location in the search]. Click [Browse] button. Choose [D:\Driver3063] folder
and click [Next] Button.
6. hen a new dialogue box shows up stating that the wizard is installing the
hardware then this indicates that the hardware installation is underway.

7. hen a dialogue box appears stating that USB 2.0 Capture has not passed
indows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with indows XP, click the
[Continue Anyway] button.
8. Once the software installation is complete e new dialogue box will show up
stating that the wizard has finished installing the software for USB 2.0 capture.
Click the [Finish] button.
9. Check [Control Panel\System\Device Manager\Imaging Device] in order to see
if there is a USB 2.0 Capture installed. Also check the LED on the USB 201 Box
which should illuminate. If both of these are visible then the driver software has
been installed successfully.
USB-201 Application Software Installation
- hen the USB201 CD disc is loaded into the CD drive, the menu of application
software will show up. If it does not show up, please execute AUTORUN.EXE in the
disc.
- Items of installation:
•USB 2.0 DVR- The application software of USB 201. It must be installed so all
functions of the USB201 can be performed.
•WinProducer 3- This is video editing software. The software must be installed so
USB 2.0 DVR can perform completely.
•DirectX8.1- Microsoft DirectX8.1 must be installed in order for USB 2.0 DVR to
work normally.
•Browse- Browse the CD.
•xit- Exit installation window.
USB 2.0 DVR Installation
1. Click on [USB 2.0 DVR], Setup window will come up to prepare for installation.
2. hen a dialogue box shows up with a welcome note, click on the button [Next].
3. hen installation is complete a dialogue box will appear displaying a USB2.0
DVR icon.
WinProducer 3 Installation
1. Click on [WinProducer 3], where a dialogue box will show up. hen the box
appears, click the [Next] button.
2. hen the License Agreement dialogue Box comes up, click [Yes].
3. hen a new dialogue box comes up, you will be required to type in your name,
company and serial number of the inProducer 3 which is attached on the CD
disc. Once you have filled out the fields, click the [Next] button.

4. The following dialogue box will ask you to choose the desired destination
location. Click [Browse] to choose your desired folder or choose the wizard’s
default folder. hen you have selected the destination click the [Next] button.
5. Click [Next] again when the select a program dialogue box appears.
6. A new dialogue box will appear showing that the setup is proceeding.
7. A dialogue box will appear showing that MS Help orkshop is being installed.
Once Help workshop is installed a dialogue box will display that the setup has
finished installation. Click [Finish] to complete installation.
DirectX8.1 Installation
1. If the DirectX in your indow OS is not version 8.1 or higher, please go to install
DirectX 8.1.
2. indows XP already includes DirectX 8.1.
Operation of USB 2.0 DVR
1. hen you first run [Start\USB2.0 DVR] or [Start\All programs\USB 2.0
DVR\SW Configuration] a dialogue box will appear.
2. Choose the TV system in your location, your language, video input source, audio
input, VGA card and Chipset. Once the setting is complete click [Ok] to enter
into USB 2.0 DVR program.
3. Control Panel of USB 2.0 DVR:
-Power Off Button- This button allows the user to terminate the USB 2.0 DVR
program.
-Minimize Button- This button allows the user to minimize the window size.
-Preview Button- This button allows the user to turn the preview window on/off.
-Top Most Button- This button allows the window to be always on top. The
function can be turned on/off.
-Source Button- This button allows the user to switch the video source from either
Composite Video or S-Video.
-Save Clipboard Button- This button allows the user to save a still image to the
system clipboard.
-Sound Switch Button- This button allows the user to switch the sound to normal
or to mute.
-Video Setup Button- This button allows the MPEG encoder parameters dialogue
box to appear with various function parameter settings.
-Snapshot Button- This button allows the user to show the snapshot window and
save a still image as BMP or JPEG.
-Help to Show Button- This button allows the help window to appear for the
explanation of operation.
-OSD Function Button- This button allows the OSD picture adjustments for
contrast, brightness, colour and tint.
-Tune Downward Button- This button allows the user to decrease the setting
value.

-Tune Upward Button- This button allows the user to increase the setting value.
-OSD Default Button- This button allows the user to return to the default value.
-Play Button- This button allows the user to playback pre-recorded or chosen
video file, the icon is then switched to stop after activation.
-Stop Button- This button allows the user to stop playing during playback of a
video file or stop recording during recording a video to an MPEG file.
-Record Button- This button allows the user to record video to an MPEG file.
-Pause/Freeze Button- This button allows the user to pause during recording or
playing back.
-Volume -/+ Button- This button allows the user to adjust the volume level either
up or down.
Connection and Installation
- Connect the Video Output port of your VCR, DVD or VCD to the Video or S-
Video Input port (Numbers 1/2 on Side Panel 2).
- Connect the Audio Output port of your VCR, DVD or VCD to your PC using a
PC sound card Audio Line In.
- Connect the USB 2.0 port to your PC.
- Once all connections are complete, connect the power supply to the power socket.
