instructions and important safeguards.

WARNING: When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed as below:
1. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use
handles or knobs.
2. To protect against risk of electric
shock, do not immerse or partially
immerse the cord, plugs, or the
entire unit in water or any other
liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when
any appliance is used by or near
children.
4. Unplug from wall outlet when not
in use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before cleaning or storing this
appliance.
5. Do not operate any appliance with
a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions, or has been
damaged in any manner. Return the
appliance to the nearest authorized
service facility for examination,
repair or adjustment.
6. The use of accessories attachments
not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause re,
electrical shock or injuries.
7. Do not use outdoors. This is for
household only.
8. Do not let the electrical cord hang
over the edge of the table or
counter, or touch hot surfaces.
9. Do not place on or near a hot gas
or electric burner or in a heated
oven.
10. Extreme caution must be used
when moving an appliance
containing hot food, hot water, hot
oil or other hot liquids.
11. To disconnect, remove plug from
outlet.
12. This appliance is not intended for
use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of
the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
13. Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
14. Do not use appliance for other than
intended use.

SHORT CORD PURPOSE
Longer power-supply cords or extension cords may be used
if care is exercised in their use.
If an extension cord is used: (1) the marked electrical rating of
the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical
rating of the product; (2) the extension cord should be
arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can unintentionally be pulled on or tripped
over by children or pets.
POLARIZED PLUG
If this appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other), please follow the below instructions:
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to t
into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to t the
plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug
still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Never use the
plug with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully
inserted into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug of the
product or any extension cord being used with this product.
Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized
plug.

BEFORE FIRST USE
• Unpack the product but keep all packaging materials until
you have made sure your new Contact Grill & Panini Maker
is undamaged and in good working order.
• Unwind the cord to its full length and inspect the cord and
plug for damage. Do not use the product if these parts are
damaged. In case of damage, contact customer service for
further assistance.
• Place the unit on a level, dry and heat resistance surface
ready to use. Ensure you read all instructions carefully and
keep them for future use.
• Wipe the nonstick plates with a damp cloth, not wet, so
they are clean and free of any manufacturing oils that may
be left on the surface.
• The nonstick plates need to be conditioned and seasoned.
Wipe a small amount of butter or margarine onto them
with a paper towel.
• Wipe off any excess and the unit is now ready to use.
HOW TO USE
USING THE GRILL
Slide the drip tray into the center slot at the bottom rear of the
appliance.
NOTE:
Do not use any
abrasive cleaners as
these may scratch the
nonstick plates.
The rst time the grill
is used a slight odor
may develop. This is
entirely harmless and
will soon dissipate. En-
sure there is adequate
ventilation when
using the grill.
The ready indicator
light will cycle on
and off during use as
the temperature is
maintained.

NOTE:
Aerosol cooking spray
should not be used on
the nonstick surface.
The chemicals that
allow the spray to
come out of the can
build up on the
surface of the plates
and reduce their
efciency.
1. Close the lid.
2. Unwind the cord and plug it into a standard electrical
outlet. The power indicator light will turn on.
3. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting.
4. Allow to preheat 3 - 5 minutes. When the selected
temperature is reached, the ready indicator light will turn
on.

NOTE:
Do not overload the
cooking plate.
Do not leave the
appliance unattended
during use.
You can use light pres-
sure on the handle
to press and heat the
food to your liking.
Do not use heavy
pressure on the lid at
any time.
Always use heatproof
plastic, silicone or
wood utensils to
avoid scratching the
nonstick surface of
the plates. Never use
metal skewers, tongs,
forks or knives.

HOW TO USE (cont.)
USING THE FLOATING HINGE POSITION
The oating hinge position is used for preparing paninis and
other grilled sandwiches. It can also be used for grilling. In this
position the grilling plate rests on top of the food.
1. Prepare your sandwich as the appliance heats up.
2. Using an oven mitt, carefully open the lid.
3. Carefully place foods to be cooked on the bottom plate.
4. Close the lid with the lid closing directly onto the food.
5. Allow food to cook for the desired time.
6. After the desired time, the food should be done. If you
would prefer longer cooking, simply follow the steps
beginning at step 3.
7. Using an oven mitt, carefully open the lid.
8. Remove food using a nylon coated, silicone, wooden spat-
ula or the scraper provided.
9. Turn the temperature dial to Off position and unplug
when not in use.
10. Allow drip tray to cool completely before removing. Wash
and dry the drip tray after each use.
USING THE OPEN COOKING SURFACE
1. Raise the lid by handle until it stops.
2. Press the hinge release button on the bottom right side of
the handle and lower the lid until the cooking surface is
fully opened.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Unplug and allow the appliance to cool down completely
before cleaning or maintenance.
1. Remove the drip tray, empty and wash in warm, soapy
water or the dishwasher (top-rack only); dry thoroughly
with a paper towel or cloth.
2. Use a damp cloth (not wet) to wipe the lid and base.
3. Open the lid and press the release button to remove the
nonstick plates. These can now be washed in warm, soapy
water and dried thoroughly.
4. Do not use chemical, steel wool or abrasive cleaners to
clean the nonstick plates or outside of the appliance as
these will scratch the surface.
5. Do not place this appliance in the dishwasher.
6. Make sure the appliance is completely dry before storing.
7. Never store the appliance while it is still hot or plugged in.
8. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance. Do not
put any stress on the cord where it enters the appliance as
this could cause it to fray and break.
9. Store in a cool dry place.
NOTE:
To remove stubborn
buildup, use a nylon
or nonmetallic
scrubbing pad to
clean the grill plates.
CAUTION:
To avoid accidental
burns, allow appliance
to cool thoroughly
before cleaning.
Plates will be hot for
some time after being
unplugged.
DO NOT immerse the
unit, plug or cord in
water or any other
liquid.

WARRANTY IS ONLY VALID WITH A DATED PROOF OF PURCHASE
PLEASE DO NOT RETURN TO STORE OF PURCHASE.
If you have any problems with this unit, contact Customer Service for support.
1. Your small kitchen appliance is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from any
manufacturing defects under normal use and conditions for one (1) year, cord excluded.
This Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of this product.
2. Retail stores/merchants selling this product do not have the right to alter, modify, or in any
way revise the terms and conditions of the warranty.
3. If you use your appliance for household use and according to instructions, it should give
you years of satisfactory service.
4. At its sole discretion, Maxi-Matic USA will either repair or replace the product found to be
defective during the warranty period.
5. The repaired or replacement product will be in warranty for the remaining balance of the
one-year warranty period and an additional one-month period.
6. Consumer’s remorse is not an acceptable reason to return a product to our Service Center.
7. This limited warranty covers appliances purchased and used within the 50 U.S. states plus
the District of Columbia and does NOT cover normal wear of parts or:
- Damages caused by unreasonable use, neglect, normal wear and tear, commercial
use, improper assembly or installation of product.
- Damages caused in shipping.
- Damages caused by replacement or resetting of house fuses or circuit breakers.
- Defects other than manufacturing defects.
- Breakage caused by misuse, abuse, accident, alteration, lack of proper care
and maintenance, or incorrect current or voltage.
- Lost or missing parts of the product. Parts will need to be purchased separately.
- Damages of parts that are not electrical; i.e. cracked or broken plastic/glass,
scratched/dented inner pots.
- Damage from service or repair by unauthorized personnel.
- Extended warranties purchased via a separate company or reseller.
- Acts of nature such as re, oods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.
8. This warranty does not apply to re-manufactured merchandise.
Maxi-Matic, USA shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the
breach of any express or implied warranty. Apart from the extent prohibited by applicable law,
any implied warranty of merchantability or tness for a particular purpose is limited in time to
the duration of the warranty.
*One Year Limited Warranty valid only in the 50 U.S. states plus the District of Columbia,
excluding Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the USA; product us-
age which is in violation of the written instructions provided with the unit will void this warranty.
For international warranty, please contact the local distributor.
This warranty gives you special legal rights and you may also have other rights to which you are
entitled which may vary by state, province, and/or jurisdiction.

RETURN INSTRUCTIONS
RETURNS:
A. Any return of defective merchandise to the manufacturer must be
processed accordingly by rst contacting customer service to obtain an
RA # (Return Authorization Number).
We will not accept any returns of merchandise without an applicable RA #.
B. IMPORTANT RETURN INSTRUCTIONS. Your Warranty depends on your
following these instructions if you are returning the unit to Maxi-Matic,
USA:
1. Carefully pack the item in its original carton or other suitable
box with sufcient cushioning to avoid damage in shipping.
2. Before packing your unit for return, be sure to enclose:
a) Your name, full address with zip code, daytime tele
phone number, and RA#,
b) A dated sales receipt or PROOF OF PURCHASE,
c) The model number of the unit and the problem you
are having (Enclose in an envelope and tape directly to
the unit before the box is sealed,) and
d) Any parts or accessories related to the problem.
3. Maxi-Matic, USA recommends that you ship the package via UPS
ground service for tracking purposes. We cannot assume
responsibility for lost or damaged products returned to us
during incoming shipment. For your protection, always carefully
package the product for shipment and insure it with the carrier.
C.O.D shipments cannot be accepted.
4. All return shipping charges must be prepaid by you.
5. Once your return has been received by our warehouse, Maxi-Matic,
USA will repair or replace the product if it is defective in material or
workmanship, subject to the conditions in paragraph B.
6. Maxi-Matic will pay the shipping charges to ship the repaired or
replacement product back to you.
